A wonderful new addition to the Baltimore Korean food scene! As someone who has been to pretty much every single Korean restaurant in and around Baltimore, and visits them frequently, I can honestly say that this is one of the best places to go to!! The ambiance is very relaxing, and the staff is very friendly. However it was the excellent food that closed the deal for me. Every single thing we ordered was exceptional. A beautiful melody of textures, and well balanced flavors. Unlike other places the menu is some what limited, but I think that works in their favor. We tried dumplings, soups, rice bowls and their rice omelet platter with fried chicken. Every single thing was seasoned to perfection and by the time I was done my tastebuds were dancing like crazy! I am a customer for life and would highly recommend this place to anyone who likes korean food or any newbie who wants to explore this cuisine. PS: for all the late night foodies like myself, this place is ideal because they are open till 4 in the morning!! read more

Came across this place with my gf on a Baltimore adventure one day. From the outside, it looks like a small hole in the wall spot, but when you walk in, the place is huge, with an open area that looks like it could turn into a mini-rave during the night time. I really enjoyed the decor of the place, as old movie posters covered the walls at every turn. To start, we got the Omu-rice with extra chicken. The rice was hidden in egg and paired well with the chicken. This was my favorite part of the meal for sure. Next, we decided to get the spicy boneless fried chicken with fries covered in a mayo sauce. This was solid as well, but I think I would've preferred the original chicken, as the spice covered the chicken in this sort of glaze, similar to orange chicken. I thought it would've been a spicy seasoning as opposed to a glaze, but it was good nonetheless. Overall, Kong Pocha was a great dining experience. I'd love to see how lively it gets at night and also give another go at the chicken, minus the spicy glaze. read more

I am disappointed after my experience at Kong Pocha, my expectations were based on the previous reviews written here. Multiple reviews have stated that the food was good and they generally enjoyed the place here, and since Ellicott City is too far of a drive, I decided to give this place a try for my Korean food craving. I'm giving this one star because I bought $50 worth of food, such as the black bean noodles, spicy rice cakes and the original chicken. All three dishes were bland in flavor. My boyfriend and I are from New Jersey. We came to Maryland for vacation. After a week of being away from home, we craved Korean food. Looking at the other reviews grew our anticipation. We ordered pork kimchi jigae and the curry rice through delivery. Immediately, my boyfriend knew the color of the soup was off. Not to mention that there were very few pieces of meat and scarce amounts of actual kimchi. The curry had a foul taste of heavy cream. It is important to mention that we are from a very heavily populated Korean area, so we do have high standards. Still, this was no exception as this is a Korean restaurant/pocha. read more

I ordered carry out, but when I went to pick up the food, the hostess indicated that it would it take another 35 minutes. She wasn't too happy that I was there. The neighborhood is very sketchy, the outside of the restaurant was scary. The inside of the restaurant wasn't much better. It was just dark and dingy and dusty. I did enjoy the food, and not at all available in Milwaukee. The shrimp, the rice, the egg, the curry was all very tasty. This is the 3rd time ordering from here, and the most disappointing. I ordered several items from here today,and the main item (soy garlic chicken bone-in) was dull and flavor-less..there was literally no soy garlic seasoning /sauce /spices on the chicken..just plain chicken!Also, the carton only had 2 legs and a wing..the rest were chicken chunks. Why advertise bone in if I just get chicken nuggets? I could have went to KFC or Popeyes...and they would have been cheaper than the $23.99 that I paid. read more

Warning: once you eat here you will think about nothing else every again. Some of THE BEST food in my life. Probably in my top two favorite restaurants in Baltimore. I usually order either the curry chicken cup bap, sometimes with an extra side of fried chicken, or the curry omurice. Often it is too hard to decide and I get both. Went there yesterday on a date. The food was excellent. I had the Cream Omu-Rice and she had the cheese kimchi Bbokombab. Both were excellent. Waiters were friendly and attentive. I came here with a party of four on a Friday evening for some Korean BBQ. We ordered a combination that consisted of 4 different types of meat. I have been to my fair share of Korean BBQ establishments in my life and was not very impressed on this particular night. For starters, the side dishes (banchan) that came with the order were slim pickings and not very fresh. The biggest turn off of our meal was that the seasoning on the meat was extremely salty - to the point that we couldn't even finish all the portions. Specifically the marinated bulgogi and kalbi were way too salty. We didn't try any of the other dishes so I can't speak to those, but the meat was almost inedible. Although the service was pretty good and they gave our table a free order of corn cheese, I wouldn't choose to come back here over the other Korean BBQ spots in the area. read more

Oh my god the chicken is the best. It's the Korean style fried chicken. I never had this delicious chicken in my life. My husband is over 70 years old American. He doesn't like Korean food. He goes Korean food because of me. But he loves Kong. Finally we found place to go for a drink nearby from our house. All young fellas at bar and restaurant. We are only old couple with young kids. My rating would actually be a 4.5/5. Their corn cheese is a must have. It was very unfortunate that their bbq station was off limits due to covid. Although our server got one of our orders wrong (ordered bulgogi bibimbap and got spicy pork), it was still very good. A very nice place to go to with your friends for a good time. The staff are so warm and welcoming, they genuinely care about giving excellent service. They do the Korean BBQ on big circular tables with plenty of elbow room. First time at Korean BBQ. The staff was lovely, patient, and accommodating. We ordered soju and Korean beers for 'boiler makers.' The food was INCREDIBLE!! The Cheese Tteokbokki appetizers were perfect and a total crowd pleaser with even those of our party who were not looking for spicey. The Bulgogi (brisket and sirloin) were the star of the meal and were fun to cook and came with many delicious sides. Our only regret was ordering too much!
