He put in more freon in the meantime so my house will have air conditioning until they can repair it. I will definitely use Richmond's Air again in the future, but for now, hopefully this leak repair will last me for a few years before having to call for service again. At least two blower unit rebuilds, a control card, multiple capacitor replacements, and a few pounds of refrigerant every couple years. This year the refill exited far too quickly and I called Heights A/C for a quote. Thomas replaced the old unit and re-worked the ducts for a great result. The house feels better with the new duct work and the system is amazingly quiet.

Frank Jackson(Owner) opened the door where the unit was, & closed the door stating " unit is just old". Took ( new) filter from return flow at the floor, said he didn't like that kind. His only intention was to have me buy a new unit from him. Went outside to the outside unit, got water hose to remove grass. No additional inspection or troubleshooting done. Opened the vent in the den a bit. No checking of the unit in the attic or ducts. Was told unit didn't need any freon, it was only slightly low. Later he claimed to have "topped off" the freon at no charge. He said the unit was working like " (congestive heart failure): working but not as strong. Cost was $275. As I got the payment, I waited for the invoice to see the work detail. He went to the truck, claiming to be looking for his glasses, but just left without giving me the invoice. I texted to ask about the invoice. When he sent it, I was appalled about all he claimed to have done. I sent him my dissatisfaction but he never responded. I decided to share my experience in hope of helping others avoid the which I encountered. I also plan to report him to whatever governing bodies overseeing such actions, price gouging, scamming , misrepresentation of work done. I should have looked up reviews. Pretty much a bunch of BS I called Efficient Polar Air they came out Saturday at 9PM said that the builder when the HVAC person installed the unit they didn't vacuum enough and if anything the expansion valve needed to be changed and vacuum to be done but couldn't confirm anything Nicks Pluming/AC was saying. They fixed the issue for there standard service call and if it keeps reoccuring the expansion valve and vacuum needs to be done. Do yourself a favor and if you have any AC issue call Efficient Polar Air!!! They saved me so much $$$$ by being honest and quick.
