Cool Care provided great service. On 5/14, I had Company XXX perform a spring air check-up. Company XXX claimed I needed $1400 to $1600 to get the unit to cool because it was NOT working. He said that while standing in our 73 degree house with outside temperatures of 90 degree day. Sent Company XXX to pasture and hired Cool Care. Cool Care came out for a check-up on 5/17/19. I'm really disappointed with Cool Care. I used them for maintenance on my 3 A/C units, and they had me do a prepaid spring and fall maintenance package. I ended up replacing all my units this fall (they were all really old), and thus no longer needed the maintenance from them. However they refused to give me a partial refund for the unused maintenance. Probably written in their fine print -- however, I feel like the ethical thing to do would be to refund me. I'm surprised as I thought they cared more about their customers. Would not recommend this company. read more

Amazing service from Cool Care! This is the second time I used the company and its a plus that they are in the area. Call them on a Sunday morning and they were able to come out in the afternoon. Nicole is always available to answer your call (the business is 24/7 which is a huge plus because its a fact that AC units break on weekend nights). Bob came out and he was very nice and professional. He explain to me the problem and offered all the options I can choose to get the AC fixed. Turns out my compressor died and he was able to come back the next day with a new one to replace it. He also warned me about the soon to be discontinued use of a certain type of freon and gave me options to update my unit. No pressure, just facts. Cool Care Does It Again! Owner Chris Zatopek replaced an A/C evaporator coil on my downstairs A/C 3 years ago and did a "Fabulous" job. He and his installation contractor did a duct work replacement and upstairs A/C coil & A/C Condensing Unit replacement installation on a Saturday to accommodate my wife's working home schedule. They did a "Very Professional" job. Chris did a few extra things at no additional charge as before. As Chris stated to me, Cool Care is not the cheapest or most expensive, they are the most reasonable in price. Then checked NextDoor and realized it was the same company. They are in the area (a huge plus) and the senior tech, Roger, was simply amazing. Told him he definitely did his good deed for the day. Even came back the next day to add some frion. Had the same experience earlier with Chris (similar but unrelated problem). Despite the fact that he was packing up to head home, he told me he'd be right over. Scenario: Got a text on Sunday morning from my tenant that AC unit isn't working. After searching for multiple companies/individuals, I finally called Cool Care, and Miss Nicole answered the phone. She was very pleasant and helpful, and checked with her technician, Bobby, who happened to be in the area near Hilshire Lakes. Bobby was able to get to my place within 15 minutes of my call and even though there was a $129 charge for Sunday service for new customers, it was all very much worth it. Within minutes, Bobby called and shared that he has identified the problem and that capacitor and contractor needed to be replaced as they were bad. After getting approval to proceed, Bobby inspected the system and found out that compressor was over heated and might needed to be replaced. I was about to notify the tenants to find the hotel so that they were taken care of but Bobby called and said that he needed to do a full inspection to ensure that it was truly the case before getting hotel accommodations. After less than 30 minutes, Bobby called to notify me that compressor was overheated but he was able to normalize it and there was no need for a replacement. In addition, the unit for fully functioning and it was confirmed by the tenants as well. Overall, I'm very pleased to have called Cool Care and the service they provided in an extremely timely and efficient manner. read more

This is a response to Nichole's (wife of owner) comments: Tropical storm Imelda wasn't a factor in the delays as she stated. There were no questions asked after the initial visit to our home that could possibly have resulted in Cool Care refusing to do the job. Chris provided the names of two companies that he said might meet "our needs" better but both had terrible reviews so we would never use them and from what we could tell were just HVAC companies comparable to Cool Care. If Chris felt that he didn't want to do replacement ductwork, he could have told us that during his visit. Why did he bother to submit an estimate to us? While I am sure that their actual service/repair is excellent their idea of good will and customer relations leaves something to be desired. Last night, my AC stopped. Just stopped. I called CoolCare upon the recommendation of my neighbors on Nextdoor .com. Nicole (She and her husband are the owners.) could not have been nicer. She got Bobby (Who also could not have been nicer and seemed very knowledgeable) here right away and she knew exactly where I live. She told me the fee to come out was $69.00 to check and etc. OK. Then, she asked me a few questions to try and pinpoint the problem. Have you checked the breaker box? Yes. Can you see a readout on the thermostat? Yes. However, and this is the issue, she did NOT ask me if I had checked the batteries in the thermostat. Batteries? I had no idea there were batteries until Bobby came in and said that was the first thing he wanted to check. All that was needed was to change the two AA batteries and the AC came on immediately. SO, I called her and asked to not have to pay the trip charge as she could easily have included that in the questions asked as in: "Madame, is your computer plugged in?". She said no, there were costs incurred, his time, tolls etc. OK, so I offered to split it with her. No cannot. So, 1 - had she asked about the batteries in the first place, it would have saved wear and tear on the van, the tolls and etc etc AND this review would have been very different and I would be recommending them all over the place and calling them whenever I needed any kind af AC/Heating attention. 2 - Had she agreed at the very least to the split fee, I still would be saying nice things about them as she would have engendered good will, which as anyone in business knows, is worth more than a $69.00 trip charge. . read more
