But then there's the Emotional Intelligence angle, and many doctors fail there.I recently had an abscess in my tooth and I would not wish it on anyone. Imagine going to bed on a random Tuesday night and waking up Wednesday in utter agony with one side of your jaw swollen out two inches. It's a very scary situation. I've since heard of some people needing the ER. Dr Mitrut and his staff? Every single one of them was fantastic at all phases. Lisa's empathy came through on the first call; the staff, overall, are clearly experienced with emergency situations. And, importantly, Dr. Mitrut took the TIME to explain every stage of the events. That's rare. Too many doctors, in my own personal opinion, rely on their own experience without taking the time to recognize a person is in distress. Dr. Mitrut took those extra moments and I can't recommend him or this office enough because of that.

During the procedure, he repeatedly and aggressively compressed the instrument into my tooth with all his weight. Because of that, the instrument broke through the tooth wall and reached to the inner bone. It was obviously shown on x-ray taken one week after the procedure as a black perforation. This guy told me "Massage your gum" so I listened to him and kept on coming back to him to see the progress. After waiting a year, the perforation was still there but there was no change in the size. I decided to get a crown as I waited too long. But my dentist was apprehensive and said, "you may need to get this tooth extracted if this perforation turned into an infection". Then one and half year later that happened. I suddenly got excruciating tooth pain while I was in the flight, went to a dentist and found the tooth got infected spreading to the jawbone due to the instrument broke through the tooth. I ended up getting a tooth extraction and bone graft, and paid a lot of money for the procedure. Now I could recall he appeared to be very weird when he saw the x-ray and probably, he noticed the perforation was caused by his procedure but didn't want to admit it. He was supposed to know excess pressure can break the tooth wall. I also watched a common root canal procedure on Youtube and the modern technic is so gentle not requiring compression of the instrument throughout the whole procedure. He still practices very old technique, and his procedure is just aggressive. I even got injured on my bottom lip during the procedure. When I checked his reviews, I've seen successful root canal stories but now I saw some people experienced the same issue I had. I deeply regrated I chose this guy carelessly. Avoid this guy if you want to save your teeth otherwise you will end up losing your teeth and money.

The following day I called when they were open and explained my situation to them, that I was in need of an emergency exam. within 10 minutes they called me back with an opening, for me to come in. The staff was courteous, attentive and intuitive, the Dentists were informative as well, my questions were answered, my issue was resolved and I was satisfied with my service. I'm now a new client with them and will be back in two weeks for further evaluation and services, and will keep an active review on them after every visit. 10/10 I would recommend their services, so far so good, they can work with you and in a timely manner as well, my issue was resolved in an 1 hr total.

She went above and beyond to fit me into her already packed schedule because she knew I was dealing with tooth pain that needed attention before I left for vacation. But before I dive into how brilliant Dr. Lin was yesterday, I want to give a bit of backstory. Dr. Lin was supposed to do my root canal three weeks ago. At the time, she managed to squeeze me in for an emergency consultation and told me to return after the weekend for the procedure. Then, as luck would have it, Dr. Lin fell ill and had to be hospitalized. Her staff called me to reschedule and kept me updated while she recovered. Then, the office had to close for a weeklong renovation. Naturally, I started to worry I'd have to leave for my vacation with a tooth infection. Thankfully, Dr. Lin's staff reassured me and fit me in for the last appointment yesterday. I could tell she had a full day and was still recovering from her own illness, yet she focused entirely on ME. She took the time to address all my concerns and patiently listened to my fears. She even said she'd double-check to see if I even needed a root canal, and if I didn't, we could all go home early! Turns out, I did need the root canal--my tooth's nerve had died. Dr. Lin knew how nervous I was, especially about the procedure and all the needles involved. To help ease my anxiety, she handed me a fluffy plushie to hug while she worked. That small gesture honestly made a huge difference! Dr. Lin had told me the procedure would take about an hour, but it ended up taking two. Why? It was my last molar, and the nerves were curved, which made the process more complicated. But Dr. Lin explained every step and made sure I felt comfortable the entire time. Her attention to detail and calming presence really put me at ease. She even took two x-rays during the procedure to make sure everything was perfect. Throughout, there was zero pain, and even though she warned me I might have jaw pain from holding my mouth open for so long, I didn't feel any discomfort. I waited a day to write this review to get a sense of how I was feeling, and while there's some slight pain when I bite down (which is normal), I'm feeling really good. Dr. Lin even called me today to check in and see how I was doing. Also, I have to mention the office renovations! The new baby blue walls are a beautiful update to an already great space. Thank you so much, Dr. Lin, for making this experience as pain- and fear-free as possible--and for being such a caring, dedicated doctor.
