This is a Persian restaurant, great owner, amazing food especially their koobide. The restaurant is big and spacious, clean and modern look. Food takes a while to come out because it is cooked fresh but very good. It is on the pricier side for the portion sizes but it is worth trying. This might be one of the best Koobide in OC especially for Persians looking to taste koobide that is similar to Iran. Their looti polo is really good and a unique twist to the traditional Persian rice. Their lamb neck is very good and comes with a nice presentation that reminds of Iran restaurants.

Sunday lunch with friends. This place was REALLY good! Since we were a party of 5, the server suggested family style. We ordered 3 entrees which with family style, the salad, chopped cuc tomato & tzatziki ) offered gratis. Pita with butter is offered table side with refills. We shared: 1) boneless chicken 2) Egypt kabob (seasoned gr beef) 3) kabob torsh (gr lamb marinated with pomegranate) The platter came out & looked amazing! We added polo lati (sumac, butter & tomato rice). Besides the meats and regular basmati rice, they had house-made pickles(dill), red onion slices, charred tomatoes, jalapeños, & lemon wedges. The meats were grilled beautifully, lamb wasn't "gamey", tender chicken breast nicely marinated in maybe a yoghurt base, pickles, lemon, jalapeños were a nice tart contrast. Almost forgot about the sumac on the side. I really enjoy sumac & the tartness it adds. Kind of reminds me of Japanese shiso. The salad with crisp iceberg lettuce, red cabbage & a pink dressing (tasted similar to 1,000 isle dsg). Pink from pomegranate(?) sumac(?). Anyway the salad was simple but nice. Tzatziki was creamy & tart. The cucumber tomato relish was HAND CUT! Not food processed. Perfectly nice square cuts. Fresh, simple & refreshing. Will return when in the area. This spot is centrally located for our friend group. Ample parking. Staff helpful with ordering for the newbies. While we've all had Mediterranean meals prior, all restaurants vary a bit. The guy was super patient & informative.

We were visiting from San Jose and found Koobikland. The presentation of the plates were so pretty. The grilled chicken was so so tender. The beef koobidah was also delicious. I also enjoyed the eggplant and bread. Service was very good. Very nice ambiance.

Honestly might have been my first time trying Persian food and I've definitely added it to my favorites. Definitely some similarities to Greek food and overall very healthy and filling. Friendly service, they were super welcoming and happily helped with recommendations. We all got an order of the Koobideh and some chicken on the side. I'd say I can put away food pretty well and this had me pushing a bit with lots of flavorful, filling protein. Meat was seasoned well, tender, juicy, and balanced out with the rice and vegetables. I don't care much for sauces and was pleased that the yogurt sauce was not necessary because nothing was dry.

If you're even thinking about going to Koobikland, just go. Seriously. This place is an absolute gem in Orange. From the moment you walk in, you can tell it's not your average spot. The vibe is super welcoming, creative, and just straight-up fun. Everything feels thoughtfully put together, from the layout to the little details that make the whole experience feel unique. And the food? Absolutely delicious. Every bite tasted fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can tell they're not cutting corners, everything feels intentional and high quality. I happened to walk by Koobikland today while visiting another shop in the store front. I looked it up on Yelp and was so excited to find this Persian gem! I used to work for a Persian, Jewish school where some of the mothers cooked traditional food daily for lunch. This koobideh with rice and a grilled tomato was my favorite! This was hands down better than any I e had since. While placing my order to go, I asked if they happen to have any tahdig, and they did! You can see the generous portion they included on top of my rice. It was the best tahdig I've ever had! The consistency was just perfect and I'm not sure what they fry it in on the bottom, but it was just the right amount of crisp and flavor. I was offered soda or tea while I waited and I chose The Tea smelled delicious, but I didn't ask what it was. It came with sugar cubes in individual wrappers. When I asked for a spoon to stir my tea, one of the gentleman informed me that the Persian way is to put the sugar in your mouth and then sip the tea. I love that I learned something new. I will be back for the food and hospitality. I highly recommend this establishment.

Excellent place for Persian cuisine. This was my first time coming here so of course I had to try the Koobideh. Much like judging an Italian place by their pizza or lasagna or a Mexican place by their Tacos and rice, so do I judge a Persian place by its Koobideh and Saffron rice. Both were very excellent. The beef Koobideh was juicy and flavorful. Some of the best I ever had. The saffron rice was done very well. Rice should be easy but unfortunately not everyone gets rice done right. No worries here as the rice was perfect and tasty. Not only is this a good time to support your local Persian businesses but it is always a good time to support this excellent restaurant. If you never had Persian food, or if you have and are looking for a great place, look no further. Koobikland is the way to go. Good food. Good people. Enjoy.

This is quite an amazing restaurant. Was taken there by a business owner, who happens to know the owner of the restaurant. The moment I walked in there it was beautiful. They did a wonderful interior decorating. I'm a guy who doesn't pay much attention to those kinds of things and this was beautiful. The only thing better than the interior of that restaurant was the food. The food was amazing. I don't use that word a lot, but it was amazing. got kebabs, beef two ways chicken and lamb so tender and juicy and moist. Unbelievable. Salad was up there with the best food I've ever eaten. The dressing was the best dressing I've ever had on a salad. I don't know what it's called, but I'm gonna get some of that. I have to buy a bucket full. The service was great, not overdone not underdone paying attention to the customers asking if they could be helpful knowing when to walk over to the table and not. It's just a wonderful place to eat. I suggest everyone go there. read more

Tried this new place and we really enjoyed it! The place is very clean. Quiet. And people are very nice. The selections were all very interesting and the side dishes were unique. They serve for instance this bakes treat made from yogurt and rice baked with rose water in a cupcake tin till crispy. Very interesting. The pickles sides are also good. The beef koobideh was fantastic, juicy well charred and not game like cheap beef can be. The chicken kabob was also perfectly charred and juicy. Prices are right on par, and portions are ok as well. This was my first time here and the food was amazing. The beef koobideh was to die for. It was so juicy and flavorful, one of the best koobideh I've ever had. It wasn't dry or hard like some other places. Very delicious and delicate. Cooked to perfection. The owner and staff members were very welcoming and I enjoyed my meal so much. The meal came with 2 sides. I had salad Shiraz and Most o'museer. The presentation and plating was very beautiful too. I would highly recommend this place to everyone. Love Mediterranean food and this spot was pretty delicious. They definitely get an A for presentation. I like the clay plate to keep the rice warm. Food had the right amount of spices to make it flavorful. Service was good too, although we came during lunch time and it wasn't as crowded. read more

Sorry but I have to give my honest review. I wanted to love this place since it has so many 5 star reviews, but this restaurant needs some improvements. Dislikes- right when you walk in all you smell is cleaning supplies, most likely pine-sol. It was so strong it was burning my eyes and nose! Decor is bland and needs some warmth. Not feeling that all the plates and utensils were from ikea. Just made the ambiance look cheap. Menu is limited and lacks a lot of the signature Persian dishes. Although the koobideh kabob was ehh, the way the food was plated and displayed was unique. Quality of the food was 2/5. I won't be personally be going back but it looked like people were enjoying their food. read more

Went here for lunch on Thursday with two friends. It was so amazing. Everything about this restaurant was amazing. The staff were so helpful and happy and inviting and we're happy to explain their dishes and every dish we had was excellent. The falafel with a light pesto drizzled on top was amazing, the red salad which has an amazing dressing and walnuts and Oliver, chicken beef and rice. This is top-notch. This place was amazing! The service was incredible, as soon as we walked in we were greeted and helped right away. The restaurant is very cute and the seats are comfortable. We started with their eggplant appetizer and it was delicious. The shirazi salad was great as well. I loooved my chicken koobideh! The rice is very good. Everything tasted so fresh and good. I have to say the presentation of the food was beautiful and taste was delicious. Price and portion fell short from every other Persian restaurant around. It's fairly new, clean and nice space. My daughter had a koobideh combo and hubby and I shared a trio combo w two kinds of rice and had falafel for appetizers. All 3 items for about $100. I do wish them well in the future. read more

A brand new restaurant for Orange and it doesn't disappoint! We decided to try a little bit of everything. We love spice, so we asked for more spice to be added. This little establishment was so accommodating. The taste was Amazing! Persian food with a kick. Finally! The Dragon Kabob (we asked for spicy) was just the perfect start to a wonderful meal. We then had most of the kabobs and koobidehs offered along with the delicious polo loti. This is a $4 upgrade and worth every dollar. I will never eat plain rice again. Our favorites were the Egypt Kabob, (spicy of course) Boneless Chicken and surprise surprise the Chicken koobideh. Usually Chicken Koobideh is dry and tasteless, imagine my surprise when( ground chicken) came out tender and moist. Seriously?Recipe please! Each course was served like a work of art. Total eye candy. Our delicious persian tea was refilled throughout our meal and service was just impeccable . Now for what really impressed me, cleanliness! And not just the restaurant setting as we sat with a view to the swinging kitchen door. I was amazed at the sparking clean kitchen. These guys might be new to the block, but Orange has quite the tasty gem. Can't wait to return. read more

We just noticed this place near by the house and the pictures looked good so we came to check it out!! We ordered the dragon kabob for an appetizer, it was delicious!! Then we got the traditional tray and asked to substitute the egyptian koobideh skewer for lamb shish! All 3 kinds of meat were amazing! I cant wait to come back and try everything else on the menu! It was our first time going to Koobikland with our guests.The service was amazing, all of the staff were really welcoming and helpful with explaining the menu. I loved the ambiance, beautiful Persian calligraphy artworks and their unique design was really nice. The food was really tasty , cooked and spiced to perfection. Would have never expected cuisine this good in a strip-mall. Kourosh, our waiter, was wonderful & wonderfully informative. Just when we thought we had our minds made up, he'd tell us about something else & we were like YEAH! We'll have that. Ended up with the Traditional Plate Platter, a Fattoush Salad, and finished our meal off with Turkish Coffee & a decadent piece of Baklava. The price was right on par with what I'd expect to pay for a meal experience such as this. read more

Such a great place! I took a friend that has never had Persian food, I was expecting this place to be like other Persian eateries near us, nope, so different. Everything was so beautifully presented, the taste was fresh and delicious. Kourosh, the manager was so attentive and pleasant. He took time to make suggestions and explain how the food here was prepared and why it was different. Everyone was so friendly and made us feel so welcome. You must try the falafel! Not like any I have ever had before, PERFECTLY cooked, not dry at all! The mini tachin, wow... such a treat! I'd never had Egypt Kabab, it has jalapeño! Not overwhelmingly spicy, so flavorful. The beef and chicken were tender and juicy. We finished off our trio Koobideh platter with some pistachio baklava and chai (flavored with cinnamon). Do yourself a favor and try this place, let's support local businesses and help them succeed. read more

Koobikland is a true jewel for anyone seeking authentic Persian cuisine, and probably the overall best we've had in the USA. Our journey began with the house salad, with a dressing that took me back to the flavors I remember from Tehran decades ago. It was both refreshing and nostalgically charming. For our main course, we indulged in the koobideh kabab and joojeh kabab, both of which were commendable. The koobideh, while excellently flavored and melting in the mouth, was somewhat over-minced, leading to a lower texture than expected (e.g. compared to Shamshiri in DC). However, it was still a delightful dish and perfect in every other way. The joojeh kabab was a standout, perfectly cooked to achieve a balance of juiciness and tenderness that is hard to find. We also ventured to try the Lati Rice upon recommendation by Kiarash, the owner. Its sour taste presented a unique culinary experience, and was a pleasant divergence from the usual. My favorite style would probable be half regular and half Lati rice. Our dining experience concluded with Persian ice cream, which was rich and (maybe somewhat too much) flavorful. The ambiance of the restaurant was briefly elevated by live piano music. While the music itself was a delightful touch, the volume was a bit too high, slightly overshadowing our conversation. Its atmosphere is full of character (though not as high end as Rumi of Atlanta), while its hospitality and culinary expertise is second to none. We ordered the family tray that consisted of koobideh beef, chicken koobideh, and mixed chicken koobideh, as the Egyptian spicy was unavailable. We also ordered plain and tomato rice, watermelon juice, and cantaloupe juice. The plain rice was slightly dry and could use some butter. The tomato rice was a little mushy and didn't suit my taste. The koobideh lacked salt and needed more spices, and the portion was smaller than expected. However, the presentation was perfect. The juices were good, and the service was friendly. Overall, the portions were too small, and the taste needed improvement, but the quality was good. The restaurant had one person running the entire operation and only one chef in the back. They need to enhance their food and employ more staff to ensure people return. The presentation and creativity are commendable, but the taste is paramount. I might visit again if I hear they have improved. I hope they succeed. This burger was exceptionally rich in flavor and quite memorable. However, the burger was also almost $20. I am unsure if that was a reasonable price. I am left wondering if a build-your-own is the more economical and appropriate option people should consider.

There is plenty of free parking all around. Inside we were seated on one of the booths. They have a lunch buffet for $20/person. Right off the bat, I was hoping they would have a chicken biryani, but they did not. Here is a listing of all that was available: Plain rice, Vegetable Samosa, Veg. Pakoras, Dal Makhni, Navaratan Korma, Chana Masala, Egg Fried Rice, Kadi Pakora, Aloo Baingan Mirch, Chicken Tikka Masala, Goat Curry, Chicken Tandoori, Chili Chicken, Gulab Jaman and Kheer for dessert. I tried a whole variety of items, but my biggest complaint would be all the food was cold. They had burners on the bottom, but it was not properly heated before transferring to the chafing dishes, so all of the food was not the right temperature. The quality of the food is highly affected because of this. I will rate the items based on taste. If they had been warm/hot, I believe they would have been rated higher. The only thing that was fresh was the naan. They brought this out to the table after you picked if you wanted garlic, chili, or plain. Dal Makhni - this was a good consistency and spice. I enjoyed it with the naan. Vegetable Samosa - the filling was okay, but a bit dry. I had to really use the chutneys to eat it. If this was more fresh/hot, I think it would be better. Chana Masala and Egg Fried rice were also average. There was a small kick to the rice, which was a good surprise. The chicken Tikka Masala was average. Again it was cold. The Chicken Tandoori was a little dry. I really liked the taste of the chili chicken, but it was cold so the outer layer became soggy. Overall we enjoyed a day out and not having to cook but I hope they can fix the problem with the food being cold. Not one item was hot. We might come back to try the dishes a la carte to get a better experience.
