I've been looking forward to try Koolfi Creamery for a while, and I finally had the chance to visit with my friend when we were grabbing dinner in FiDi. Nestled in an alleyway between office buildings, Koolfi was quiet - but, thankfully, still open - on a Friday evening. The shop was scooping some unique flavors that I haven't seen anywhere else: "malai" koolfi, bond ladoo, mango lassi, and Indian coffee + chicory. I sampled the "malai" koolfi and mango lassi - and loved both flavors so much that I ordered a double scoop. Our server recommended the dosa cone vs. the waffle cone, and I'm glad I tried it! My friend and I debriefed afterwards and agreed that the dosa cone had a tanginess that reminded us of injera and that it paired nicely with the sweet ice cream. The ice cream was on the pricier side - the double scoop + cone cost more than my fast-casual dinner - but the flavors and quality helped rationalize the splurge.
Came on a Saturday night, was a small line. Loved the flavor variety! The guava with red chile was delicious! The waffle cone was not the greatest, will stick to cup next time.
One of my fellow Yelp foodie friends and I have had Koolfi on our radar for a while and talked about checking it out together sometime. The perfect opportunity presented itself when we wanted a sweet treat after we got dinner at The Bird nearby for a Yelp Elite Experience. The creamery is located in an alley by Salesforce, so it's not exactly intuitive to locate just by looking at Google Maps, but it's also not that difficult to find if you're walking around. Once inside, we both sampled several flavors, and I settled on a split scoop of boondi ladoo & vanilla bean inside a dosa waffle cone. I think the person working the counter misheard me though because I ended up with a double scoop, so the total came out to kore than $11, which is a bit pricey even for SF. The ice cream was quite unique though, and the boondi ladoo flavor came with some crunchy bits. We ate our ice cream as we walked around the embarcadero. It was such a vibe and nice way to kick off the weekend.
Apple Maps got a little confused since I was coming from the Salesforce Tower side, but once I followed the signs to walk around Salesforce West, I found it easily. The store was bright and welcoming, and the woman working there was super helpful by explaining the flavors and offering samples, which I really appreciated. I loved the "split single scoop" option to get two flavors. I went with mango and rice, and both were delicious. The mango was a perfect classic mango flavor, refreshing and icy. The rice flavor was really unique, with spices and raisins mixed in. When I go back, I'm definitely getting the same flavors again if they have them!
Great Indian ice cream spot! I've had the filter coffee ice cream before and it was good, this time we tried the karak chai (never heard of this one before) and malai kulfi ice creams. Really good taste, and definitely coming back!
Used Koolfi Creamery for in office catering for a conference. Priti was very responsive and easy to work with to get everything set up. We went with three flavors of the prepackaged scoops, Klassic Koolfi, Tamarind sorbet, and Guava with a hint of Red Chilli. The Klassic Koolfi was the most popular, and the one I had and really enjoyed. Would love to visit them in their store and try more of the flavors because picking just a few wasn't easy!
Total hidden gem of an ice cream shop! Unique and delicious Indian flavor-inspired ice cream flavors. Not the easiest to spot because there's a fence and walkway leading to the door, but there's both outdoor and indoor seating, and the interior is clean. They also let you taste-test 2 flavors each, between the 2 of us we were able to try 4 fun flavors. The Guava and Chili flavor was really interesting! We ended up buying a single split scoop of the Mango Lassi and Banana Gulab Jaman in a cone. The Mango Lassi has a very accurate flavor to the real thing and we enjoyed it, but wow that banana one is so yummy! We would definitely come back for more of it. The scoops aren't the biggest, but I say the price is fair since the flavors are so unique and delicious! We woud definitely come back at some point to get more of the banana ice cream, try some other flavors, and maybe the food items on the menu!
Came here with a friend who had wanted to try this place, and I'm really glad we did! This place serves Indian inspired ice cream with super unique and creative flavors. I got the raspberry black pepper, and was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it! The slight hint of pepper actually paired surprisingly well with the sweetness of the raspberry flavor. The shop itself is small but super cute, and the staff was really helpful (also, they offer samples!). Definitely looking forward to coming back and trying more flavors!
Ice cream is probably one of my top indulgences in life. I love it so much that last year I purchased an ice cream machine and started experimenting at home making my own. All of that being said, I was pretty excited when I saw we had an ice cream break on the agenda at our conference in San Francisco and that Koolfi Creamery would be the ice cream featured. I looked Koolfi up before tasting it and was seriously intrigued by the unique flavors they offer. Since this was a catered experience they were served up in little cups, which kind of brought me back to elementary school and those little ice cream cups with the paper pull off lids you'd get in the cafeteria. Nostalgia aside, I appreciated the smaller serving as it was the perfect amount for a little sweet treat in the afternoon. I had the Klassic "Malai" Koolfi, and it was a satisfying sweet, spicy flavor that was completely unlike any ice cream I'd ever had. I'm a big fan of cardamom and it really came through in this dessert. I remember taking my first bite and really enjoying the diversity of flavor that was happening in my mouth. Overall I really enjoyed it and loved having the chance to try something totally new. I'd for sure go back to their brick and mortar to try some other flavors as I'm sure they are all as inventive and fun as the classic.
My 2nd time coming here! This was on a weekday in the late afternoon, which was not busy at all. The service here is very fast as everyone gets their ice cream and goes. It's a small joint but there are smaller tables outside the entrance. We decided to share the fig & cardamom single scoop in a cup. It reminded me of the classic South Asian dessert flavors, similar to rasmalai in a way! It had this nice, rich creamy texture and it was a perfect treat to cool off as well. Koolfi deserves all the kudos!
This place was amazing. They had so many delicious options to pick from, it was hard to pick. But LUCKILY, they have an ice cream flight! My friends and I picked: Burgundy cherry chocolate, malai kulfi, guava chili, pride/glittery af cake batter, and mango lassi. One of my friends has a gluten allergy and they had plenty of options. The BEST option being the dosa waffle cone!!! She loves waffle cones and can't eat them anymore, so this was amazing. And as a dosa lover myself, I was in heaven. 10/10 recommend! I will say the pints they have in the freezer had better flavors than what was in the case. But still worth it nonetheless!

Loved all 3 of the flavors and really wanted to come back for the noodler falooda but ran out of time on our trip :/.
Hidden in a little nook, blink and you might miss it but it's worth the trip. One vegan option and more in pre-made containers refrigerated. The vegan dark chocolate was wonderful, rich, and not too sweet. The woman that helped me was so nice and we had a nice chat. The South Indian Coffee w oat was also yummy. CC accepted
Tried Koolfi Creamery today and loved it. The mango lassi flavor was so refreshing and creamy, and the classic malai kulfi with cardamom and saffron was so good - really nailed that flavor and texture. I normally skip the waffle cone, but decided to try it this time since it's described as not too sweet. Glad I did!The dosa waffle cone was really well balanced, sweet and savory with a nice crunch, which elevated the whole experience. I'll definitely be back to try more flavors, even though these two might already be my top picks. read more
Finally got to try this little gem of an ice cream shop and it was definitely worth the wait! They have a great selection of Indian flavored ice creams as well as traditional flavors. We stopped by after a long bike ride and it was the perfect treat for a Sunday afternoon. The place was lively and quaint at the same time. It was Pride month and Koolfi Creamery was celebrating in style, with decorations of rainbow flags. They were even passing out a variety of rainbow designed stickers. It's a family run business and you'll feel the love in their quality of ice cream. The service was impeccable. The space was bright and welcoming, as well as the staff. There's indoor and outdoor seating for large groups. It's a family friendly and group friendly space to hang out in and enjoy your ice cream. Priti and her father were so sweet and helped us with our order. We got: Single Scoop - Mango Shrikhand Triple Scoop w/ Waffle Cone - Salted Caramel Mysore Pak, Burgundy Cherry Chocolate, Lotus & Rose One Pint to Go - Mango Lassi Everything tasted delicious! I especially liked starting off with the Mysore Pak in the Salted Caramel, which gave it depth and an extra sweet texture crunch. The Burgundy Cherry was so fresh with a nice balance of chocolate. The Lotus & Rose was tasty and calming - a great way to finish my cone. I am usually particular of how I want my flavors stacked, but didn't say a word and Priti (the ice cream connoisseur and the ice cream maker), knew exactly what order of flavor to place in my triple scoop, because she knew the consistency and the flavor pairing of my trio well. It was a beautiful and very tasty ice cream tower, that was good til the last lick and didn't not fall! No ice cream wasted. We were very happy with our experience at Koolfi Creamery and it's a special place that brings joy to many. We will be back in the future! read more

4.5 for me! A lovely ice cream store with Indian flavors, as well as yummy pastries. I got the rose lotus and mango lassi flavors. Both were so rich and flavorful. My only wish is that the scoops were a little bigger. I think if you get a single split, both scoops will be "mini-sized". Service is nice, you get to have two samples of ice cream if you want to try before you buy. It's a small store with only outside seating. read more

Located in a colorful alleyway on Fremont Street near Salesforce HQ, this small shop serves up Indian-inspired ice cream. Baked goods and drinks are also available. After sampling a few flavors, I decided on a Split Single Scoop ($6.99) w/Banana Gulab Jamun + Fig & Cardamom. +Banana Gulab Jamun was reminiscent of banana bread w/a roasted banana ice cream filled w/chunks of gulab jamun. +Both flavors weren't too sweet +Compostable cups and spoons -Fig & Cardamom was very cardamom forward and I couldn't really taste the fig: A compote or swirl of jam would make it more balanced. -Ice cream melted quickly Side notes: 1.) No indoor seating, but there's plenty of seating outside in the plaza. *Verdict: Unique ice cream flavors w/friendly service. read more
Visited Koolfi on a Saturday and had such a great experience! One tip for anyone coming for the first time, you'll find this location on the alley right in front of Tender Greens. I actually missed it myself! I wanted to try this place as I noticed it's a dedicated Indian-inspired ice cream shop. I tried the half scoops of cookies & crème and malai kulfi, which were delicious. The staff was wonderful, friendly, helpful, and there even was free samples! Note, the shop is small and there isn't much seating. read more

I loved koolfi creamery! I was craving ice cream and wanted to try something different. Their flavors are so unique. It was ice cream I've never tasted before. The service was great. I got to sample multiple flavors. And the establishment is super cute. I went with two scoops in their specialty cone. My two flavors were lychee and rose. They both were soo good and refreshing! I loved the salted caramel flavor!! Very creamy, milky, and had a nice toffee crunch. The inside is pretty small but the worker was super kind and let us try multiple flavors. I also tried the coffee, mango lassi, & koolfi flavors and all were very unique. At $6 for one scoop it's a little on the pricier side, but I'm glad I came here to try! It's also a woman owned, Indian owned local business! read more
Indian ice cream in FiDi? Sign me up! It's situated in the midst of corporate buildings near Salesforce Park, and the owner really put in the effort to make the inside a nice and welcoming spot! I love the Indian influences, and they sold some small baked goods and drinks as well. I went ahead and got two flavors after trying a bunch, sticking with the klassic koolfi and the guava fresh. The indian flavored ones felt more unique, as this wasn't actual kulfi but felt more like regular ice cream. The flavors were solid, though a little sweet to me. They seem to have rotational flavors so it seems like I will have to come check it out more often to try all their flavors! I wished they had real kulfi on a popsicle, that would really take me back to India. But come give this place a try! read more
Perfect for an afternoon sweet fix serving up uncommon (for here) ice cream flavors. Seems to get a bit busy around 3pm since everyone else in the offices nearby is thinking the same thing. I especially love their sundaes, as that really jazzes things up. Gulab Jamun Sundae w/ Lotus & Rose Kamala Blossom Ice Cream: Such a fun combination. Warm galub jamun against cold ice cream and all that nice gulab jamun syrup. It's kinda like a fudge brownie sundae concept but Indian. I got the Lotus & Rose ice cream because floral against dough sweet cheese balls was a nice balance. Very creamy. Loved the rose petals and pistachio topping. The Noodler Falooda w/ Klassic Malai Koolfi: Really enjoy the mix of add-ins with the chewy thin pink noodles, the slimy basil seeds and the sweet mango. Chose the malai ice cream, which was a good creamy offset to all those sweet ingredients. Though it seemed they only used on scoop of ice cream and a lot of milk. Which was a weird texture since the ice cream wasn't blended in, it was just like a big cold lump in milk. South Indian Filter Coffee in Dosa Waffle Cone: Really tasty waffle cone made from Dosa batter, so a great savory contrast to the sweet ice cream! The coffee ice cream was a bit more intense than regular coffee ice cream, which I enjoyed. Just a perfect afternoon treat. Potato Playa Bun: Enjoyed the slightly spicy smooth potato filling against the fluffy bun. I could totally see how this would be a great snack on the go. So much flavor and great texture contrast. Khara Bun Butter Congress: It's like a light sandwich with lots of butter and some peanuts as filling. The onion bun is nice of fluffy. I liked the tastes, but the peanut texture in a sandwich was a little weird. read more
I was excited to see that what was once Susie Cakes is now an ice cream shop! My coworkers and I originally saw Koolfi when they were closed, but we were interested in the flavors and items they offered. It wasn't until this month during a coffee run my work bestie and I saw they were open. Koolfi is near Tender Greens on Fremont street. It's not hard to miss since there's signage up! Koolfi offers such an amazing spin on ice cream. Most flavors are Indian inspired, but they also do have some flavors that are German and American inspired. There were only six flavors on display, but they do rotate their flavors. If there is a flavor you love but it's currently not on display, they also offer pints of ice cream in all other flavors they produce! I believe you can only taste up to 2 flavors max, so I'd recommend choosing what you really want to try. They also let us taste them in these cool spoons they sell in shop! You can either opt for a single scoop, split single scoop, a double scoop, or choose from the other offerings they have. They even have affogatos, warm brownie sundaes, an ice cream scoop flight, and much more - even dog treats!! They also have sweet and savory pastries that looked equally delicious as well. This place is pretty small, so I'd only recommend at least 1-2 people at a time to order their items and to leave. There isn't seating inside, but there are plenty of tables outside to enjoy your treat. My coworker and I ended up getting a split single scoop, which was $6.99. You are able to choose two flavors. I ended up getting the Kadak Chai and South Indian Filter Coffee, which blew my socks off. THEY WERE BOTH SO DELICIOUS. My work bestie ended up getting the South Indian Filter Coffee and the Pumpkin Pie flavor. GEEE WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN???? The Chai was SOOO flavorful and I'm not a huge fan of Chai either, but I absolutely loved this. The flavor was strong but not bitter at all. You can taste the aroma, the spices, and the tea all so well. The ice cream was smooth and it made a perfect afternoon bite. The South Indian Coffee Filter was such a beautiful blend of coffees into 1 ice cream. You definitely tasted such a sweet and smooth coffee blend. It was absolutely a harmonious blend eating it with the Chai. I literally regretted not getting a double scoop because both flavors were SOOO GOOD without it being overly sweet. WHAT WAS NOT ON MY BINGO CARD THIS YEAR WAS HOW DELICIOUS THAT PUMPKIN PIE ICE CREAM WAS. Holy!!!!! It's like they smashed a whole pumpkin pie in there and it embodied the taste of fall. I was gobsmacked by how it tasted exactly like a pumpkin pie without it being overly sweet or too much pumpkin. The owner mentioned her wife helps toasts the spices which omg!!!! You definitely can feel and taste the love in there. I will honestly come back whenever I'm in the office because this ice cream spot is so good!! Tldr - what's not to love when it's tasty local, queer women owned indian inspired ice cream that serves up unique flavor combos like guava and chili or jackfruit and coconut! a sweet gem in the heart of the financial district hidden by west salesforce tower with quiet outdoor seating Friend and I tried a few flavors including the tamarind, malted chocolate and jackfruit and coconut! The ice creams were really creamy and flavor profiles were amazing - the jackfruits fruity/banana like flavor complemented the rich and cream coconut while the tamarind had a beautiful palate cleansing sour note that went well with the classic chocolate flavor service was fast but i would say their ice cream prices are a bit steep at $6 for a small single scoop but they seem to use good quality ingredients food: 5/5 service: 4/5 ambiance: 5/5 value: 4/5 read more

Cute little ice cream shop in an alley near salesforce tower. They were out of a few flavors (so I may have to come back and try the mango lassi), but I got a double with masala chai and pistachio flavors. They were both very packed with great flavor - you could taste strong black tea and cardamom flavors in the chai. I also liked that the pistachio wasn't too floral. Minus one star because the ice cream wasn't as creamy (a little on the icy/gritty side, though I don't know if that was from the flavoring), and the scoops were quite small for the price. read more
Ahhh! Koolfi Creamery!! What a cute ice cream parlor! Definitely an Indian family owned business! Gotta fall in love with their authentic treats! You'll find koolfi in 50 Fremont opposite of Tender Greens. A friendly couple, mother and daughter, will delight you with spiced up beverages and frozen treats that'll never disappoint. I tried the karak chai from them, and I'm already fired up to try their authentic ice cream the next time I visit. I can tell the difference. While the masala chai is spiced tea, karak chai is the strong tea, both bold and absolutely robust to the core. Looks like I'm starting to reach the peak of my journey after this. Koolfi's interior is just as crisp and vibrant as Coffee Bodega next door. If I remember correctly, it's the same space used by Susie's Cakes several months ago. Koolfi Creamery will always be one of my favorite places when it comes to their authentic chai. read more
I am an ice cream fiend! When I heard that a Vacant-to-Vibrant pop up opened that was an Indian Ice Cream business, I stopped by as soon as I could. Koolfi Creamery has a small shop along the open corridor by SalesForce West Tower (opposite Tender Greens Restaurant). There are many flavors so I had a hard time deciding. Strauss Creamery milk is used in the dairy ice creams. Several vegan options too. I chose a double scoop: Lotus & Rose Scoop and Kulfi Scoop. Both were flavorful and creamery. Delicious! Koolfi is an Indian and LGBTQ+ owned ice cream shop located in one of the Salesforce building. The owners were super friendly and consisted of a lady and her mother. They were so nice, and it was so endearing seeing the mother support her daughter and explaining the flavors and options on the menu. They have a variety of unique flavors. I had their gulab jamun sundae with a scoop of the Klassic Koolfi (Malai Kulfi) and one scoope of the jackfruit coconut flavored ice cream. The gulab jamun sundae consists of two warm, fried balls of dough drenched in a sweet syrup with one scoop of your choice of ice cream on top. This was my favorite! I have had gulab jamun before and always think it pairs well with cold ice cream on top, and I really like the Klassic Koolfi flavor, which had pistachios, walnuts, cardamom, rose water, and saffron. The jackfruit coconut flavor tasted exactly like its name. As a Viet who loves jackfruit, I really liked it, and it tasted very reminiscent and familiar to many of the cold desserts we have! You can really taste the jackfruit which has a sweet but tart taste. There is no seating inside, but there is plenty of outdoor seats.
