For the price I was not impressed at all. This place did not have anything horrible, but it also did not have anything great. It was a little bellow the middle. The sushi was ok at best, nothing impressive. The ones that we got at least. The waiter was slow and and the food was sitting there for a while before we got it, but he was nice. The ambiance was just ok. I wouldn't really recommend it, but if you want to scratch the itch for sushi it will do. The sushi was hit and a miss and interesting wnought the more expensive ones were the least good. The classic and the Bruce Lee was decent.

My husband and I decided we wanted to try a place that was new to us for date night so I made reservations for us to try Kooma on a Saturday night. The ambience was beautiful. Perfect for a romantic date night. We started with cocktails, a smoked old fashioned for him and a Mango Tango for me. Both drinks came out perfectly. Next we did the rock shrimp and crab cake bites as our appetizers. Spoiler alert: the rock shrimp was our favorite item of the evening. Crispy little tender shrimp in a spicy mayo sauce that were as addictive as eating potato chips. We couldn't stop until they were gone. The crab cake bites were 3 golf ball sized crispy crab cakes, with a strong old bay flavor, along with a sweet accent that may have come from the yuzu aioli. For our entrees I did the honey chicken and my husband did the ribeye bimbimbap. The server notified my husband the meat would arrive raw, which was appreciative. His came out in a sizzling stone pot and I encouraged him to stir things around a bit to allow them to cook evenly. Not sure if this was recommended, but it did work. The rice on the bottom got very crispy, dare I say burnt. It was our first time trying this, so we have nothing to compare it to, but it definitely didn't blow us away. The honey chicken was flavorful, but the veggies it was served with were so gently steamed it was as if they were raw, and sans seasoning. I love vegetables but I couldn't enjoy them because they were just too undercooked for my liking. We don't think there are any dessert options, but we aren't sure. There weren't any on the menu and our server didn't offer us any, but having a few dessert options would have been nice. If I could give half stars I'd give this experience a 3.5. It didnt blow us away and we aren't eager to go back, but it definitely wasn't a bad experience.

Review: Sushi Place with Impeccable Freshness, Sashimi, and Ambience I recently visited a Kooma restaurant that left a lasting impression for its meticulous attention to sushi preparation, sashimi freshness, and the overall environment. Here's a detailed account of what stood out. First impressions: environment and service Ambience:The dining room exuded a calm, refined atmosphere with clean lines, warm lighting, and complimentary ambient music that didn't overwhelm conversation. It felt both elegant and inviting, a perfect backdrop for a focused, multi-course meal. Staff demeanor:From the moment I walked in, the staff were courteous and attentive without hovering. The weight of the moment was carried with quiet confidence--every plate looked intentional, and the pacing of courses was thoughtful. Attention to detail:Even small touches mattered., and the servers checked in at just the right intervals to ensure comfort without interrupting the experience. Sushi preparation: precision and freshness Nigiri construction:Each nigiri featured a clean, aspirational balance between fish and rice. The fish lay snugly over the rice with a light sheen, indicating careful slicing and minimal handling to preserve natural flavor. Sashimi: freshness you can taste The sashimi slices were pristine--bright color, translucent fat lines, and clean aroma. The fish sampled tasted as if it were recently harvested, with a clean ocean scent that spoke to superior sourcing and quick preparation. Texture and mouthfeel:Each bite melted in a way that highlighted the fish's texture, from the melt-in-your-mouth fattiness to the more delicate lean cuts. The knife work remained deliberate, producing even slices that were easy to chew and savor. Accompaniments:Fresh wasabi, delicate pickled ginger, and a light soy dip complemented the fish without overpowering it. The balance allowed the sashimi's natural sweetness to come through. Chef's touch:The sushi chef's technique and demeanor added to the overall experience. There was clear pride in the craft, and the chef's interactions--brief, informative, and respectful of tradition--enhanced the sense of artistry at the counter. Overall impression The restaurant excels in freshness, technique, and environment. The care given to weight, texture, and balance--from the staff's service to the chef's knife work--made the meal feel cohesive and intentional. The emphasis on freshness in sashimi, paired with the restraint in seasoning and precise sushi construction, creates a memorable dining experience. The pork belly dish adds a compelling contrast, showcasing versatility without compromising the restaurant's core strengths.

food isn't good. Food is bland. Shiseto peppers could be charred a bit more. They told us 6 or 7 scallops and got 5. They then said it was by weight.

My husband brought me here for lunch one day and we really enjoyed ourselves. The atmosphere was was fun. The menu was innovative. My husband really enjoyed the special he ordered, sushi taco. I had the shrimp bao toast and kimchi fried rice. Everything was delicious! Service was nice and friendly.

We went to Kooma for after dinner drinks and sat at the bar. They have an extensive drink menu featuring martinis, hiballs, and sake. Although we didn't have dinner here, everything looked and smelled delicious. I started with the Berry Bobatini made with strawberry vodka. A few blueberry boba pearls were at the bottom of this drink. It was refreshing and not too sweet. My husband has the Japanese Whisky Hiball which he said was a little too bitter for his taste. I later tried a Peachy Keen which was a little sweeter but equally refreshing. Maybe next time we'll come for the sushi which appeared to be beautifully presented.

I've never heard of good things about this restaurant, so I'm not sure what possessed me to come here with my friend. We order the scallop orzo and some sushi to share together. The scallop orzo was some thing that we can cook at home, and there was nothing special about the sushi. We did the outdoor dining, which was kind of a bad choice because it did not make the experience feel elevated, even though it is a higher priced restaurant. Service did not match the price range of the restaurant. I would not come back.

This restaurant is so cute! The vibe is so good and they have a nice patio as well. The sushi was delicious and they had a ton of options, the non sushi dishes looked great too, will definitely be back

This was my first time here, and I'm already planning to come back! The atmosphere is aesthetically pleasing, the staff are incredibly friendly, and the food is top-notch. The sushi bar is amazing, and the cocktails are delicious. A fantastic experience all around.

This is becoming my new favorite sushi spot in the area! The sushi is incredible (I highly recommend the Wilmington roll) and the ambiance is great. I feel like it's somewhat rare to be able to sit outside and enjoy sushi at the same time, so I love that it's an option here!

I stopped by Kooma at the King of Prussia Town Center for a quick bite, but unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to expectations. The hostess seemed disengaged and didn't greet us upon arrival. After being seated outside, we weren't acknowledged by our server for quite some time. I had to flag down another staff member just to ask when we would be helped. It took over 20 minutes for two rolls to arrive, which felt excessive given how slow the restaurant was at the time. That said, the food itself was decent. I tried the Kooma Special Roll and the Wild Summer Roll, both of which had good flavor. However, considering the high prices, I expected much better service and overall experience. There are several other sushi spots in the area that offer better value and more attentive service. I'm not sure I'd come back to this place. In regard to the ambiance, the inside of the restaurant was very pretty; however the men's bathroom needed to be cleaned.

Great dinner spot. Lovely service, massive portions of good food. Our server was wonderful. At one point he came over to apologize for the long food wait and explained the kitchen was backed up, but I honestly didn't think it took that long at all for the food to come out. I very much appreciate him communicating potential delays though! For an appetizer, we got the steamed gyoza which were solid. I got the Kooma special roll which was really good and soooo filling. My husband got the stone pot bibimbap which had very good flavor, was cooked well and was also a huge portion. Would definitely come back.

Kooma is one of the fancier restaurants to dine at in the area, and it has a very spacious and clean interior (there are both outdoor and indoor seatings). Our server was very friendly and nice, and we didn't have to wait too long for our orders to come out. They had a pretty extensive menu which I was impressed about, and it is a bit on the pricer end and the food was pretty decent! Nothing really 'wowed' me but nothing was disappointing either. We left feeling very full. They did run out of all the desserts but our server recommended us other dessert places in the area that we could check out, which was nice (:

If I was a regular customer just trying to buy something to satisfy my appetite, then the quantity, quality, and price I would probably pay for something would be 4 stars instead of 5. For one person who doesn't need more than the standard amount of calories in a day, I would recommend that each package is for two meals worth but it can be so easy to get overly tempted to eat the whole package in one sitting. If you are one person, I would limit yourself to 2-3 packages maximum per TooGoodToGo visit (as long as this deal is still offered and if you get it etc) because of balancing freshness and quantity potential. The Megumi here appears very different than the one ij chinatown. Chinatown seems to serve Sushi and Japanese noodles whereas the food here seems fast food Chinese food but it might be fast food Japanese instead. Despite the differences, I think it was a good choice to make the mall food court meals more convenient type and the sit down looking restaurant in the chinatown atmosphere as with more preparation and healthier food options overall, Staff is friendly and setting is your typical busy mall food court.

Every dish we had was so fresh and light. The sushi was super fresh and came out quickly. The beef Bulgolgi had the perfect "yum" factor with a lovely balance of sweetness, a bit of spicy heat that wasn't overpowering and crunch from the cabbage. The seared beef was tender and not overly salted. It has a lovely crust on it from the sear...probably my favorite dish but they all were super good. Even though the food was great, the service was even better. We were greeted with a smile by the host. The chef/owner also came out to see how we enjoyed the food. It was a wonderful experience and, best of all, affordable. Rather than eating at the mall, taking the five minute drive to this gem was totally worth it.
