    Pho short rib, meatball

Came here for a quick lunch near the office. The inside had plenty of tables for parties of any size. Service was fast and friendly. The soup base was a little too sweet for my liking, but otherwise a solid pho option in the area.

First time here and appreciate the service from the get go. I came to dine in and Trinity was extremely helpful and attentive. I ordered the pho w/ beef & meatballs w/ a side of sliced onions. Broth was very delicious and rich. Order came out very quick and refills on water were on point as well. Broth came out hot, did appreciate that. The music was also a vibe. I ordered an eggroll, but took it to go. Definitely need to come back to try the pho w/ ribs.

Updating my review to 4-stars. Flavor is still on-point, but our meat was very tough... that I think they cooked ahead of time and heated up, versus having the rare beef pieces. A little disappointed with that, since I barely ate the meat. But the flavor of the broth is so good, that I'll come back and consider this one of my favorite pho spots!

Viet Nom is a quick-stop shop for a hearty and filling bowl of pho. We walked into this place expecting a Vietnamese restaurant but was welcomed to a modern organized pseudo-cafe equipped with bar seating, aesthetic decorations, and a photo-op wall. The menu was succinct with only a couple items, which helps with my choice anxiety (opposed to the typical Vietnamese restaurant with 80 menu items). The beef ball & short rib pho ($18) had great flavor. The beef had a nice chew and the meatballs were filling. The broth was on the salty side. The (free!) Thai Tea was sweet! Our server was attentive and quick. For managing the entire shop he did a great job. Didn't realize this place was owned by the same people at Yun Tea & Steamy Piggy. There are other family-owned Vietnamese shops if you care about that.

This review was from a visit last year. My family and I were in the mood for some good pho and Yelp led us to this location. Service: The young lady that assisted was very nice but she had a companion with her (not staff) that she was having conversation with. I didn't realize that we had to hand over our cup to have our water refilled (or was she supposed to go over to the table?). Either way, the place was small enough that I didn't really have to venture to far, and after handing over the glasses, they were refilled immediately. 4 of 5 stars. Food: We ordered the most basic off their pho menu: Short Rib pho. Although the broth was very good, the noodles and meat IMO was a bit lacking; good taste but lacking versus the places I've been to. 4 of 5 stars. Overall: As a quick fix, this place will do. If you expect more, look elsewhere or order an extra bowl as they serve just one size of pho: between a SM and Med.

Service was excellent! Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Food was also very good. We ordered spring rolls and brisket pho. Food came quickly. Family enjoyed every bite. Would come again if in the area. Parking was a breeze. Place is not that big but turn around time is quick.

Great first visit. Came in for a late night dinner at 9pm on a Saturday. No wait but a full restaurant. Ordered egg rolls and their boneless Short Rib pho. Everything was super tasty and fresh. The broth and the meat were flavorful; I didn't even bother adding sauces to it. Filling portion. They ran out of ice when we first arrived but the two servers handled it well. Ice was ready 10 min after. The kitchen also forgot to make our egg rolls but we wanted them anyway. Glad we did cause they hit the spot too; piping hot. Service was friendly from the two gentleman, no complaints. Will def be back.

We stopped by Viet Nom for a quick lunch before heading to the zoo. The space immediately stood out for how clean and nicely put together it was. Bright, tidy, and comfortable without feeling busy. We ordered the Pho Tai, Pho Nom, and an iced coffee. My Pho Nom came with three big short ribs and meatballs, and it felt like a generous bowl. The short ribs were tender with good flavor, and the meatballs had a nice, springy texture. The broth was smooth and rich but not too salty, and it stayed hot through the meal. The Pho Tai was very tasty as well, with thin slices of beef that cooked perfectly in the broth and stayed tender. The iced coffee was strong and sweet, with the condensed milk adding a creamy finish that balanced the savory soups. Service was friendly and efficient. We were greeted right away, and the food came out at a steady pace without any long wait. Overall, it was a solid lunch stop. Good portions, comforting flavors, and a relaxed atmosphere. If you're especially hungry, the Pho Nom with the short ribs is a great choice.

I had to come back to this place! Trinity and Sabrina are amazing! The service is very fast and the food tastes really good. Seating is limited but people generally eat fast here.

If you're looking for a great bowel of pho, come give Viet Nom a try. Their featured bowl of pho, Pho Nom, offers two bone-in beef rib along with sliced short rib, sliced brisket, and meatballs in pretty well flavored broth. With the highlight obviously being the bone-rib rib, the meat was so tender that if fell off the bone immediately with the slightest touch. The side veggies were also very fresh and complimented the dish well. The restaurant itself is pretty cozy with offering a handful of tables and bar seating. Still, the waitress the day I went was very friendly and quick with the service. If I find myself in the area again, I could see myself coming back for another nice warm bowl of pho.

Amazing pho. I'm picky when it comes to pho broth and you can tell this is legit -- no cloudy stuff accumulating at the bottom when the broth sits. It's clear and clean but so flavorful. Perfectly cooked noodles. I also like that the beef cuts are on the slightly thicker side and very flavorful/tender. My new go-to spot for pho! Prompt service and cute ambiance.

Viet Nom is a solid spot for a bowl of pho near the La Jolla area. This spot is located in a plaza with a good amount of parking spots. Wait times can get long so plan accordingly to put your name down on the waitlist. Wifey and I stopped by for dinner around 6pm and there was about a 15 minute wait. Inside, they have a casual setup with a decent amount of seating. We ended up getting the Grilled Pork Spring Rolls, Meatball and Boneless Short Rib Pho, and the Pho Nom. Overall, everything that we had was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. All of the staff here are friendly and welcoming. There is a reason why this spot has over 1,000+ positive reviews. Viet Nom is Viet gang approved!

This place is decieving on many levels and subverts expectations in the best way possible. Walking in you wouldn't think much. I was surprised by the tall ceilings; this place is not large in square footage but it doesn't feel cramped in any way. We opted for the online menu as it included pictures, though not on every item. Very reasonable prices for generous portions. Every dish was a winner, though some better than others in the minute details. The Hainanese Chicken Rice was tender and rich that the ginger sauce cut through, but the color was strikingly yellow. The Rotisserie Chicken Salad offered a welcome sight of veggies, though the chicken itself tasted like that straight from Costco. The Scallion Pancake was crispy on the edges, doughy in the center, and you only get one per order. The Shitake Mushroom Minced Pork had no drawbacks, and would come back just for this. Combining familiar flavors and spices, adding roasted vegetables and rice made this a complete meal! We were unbothered by the service staff the entire time until asking for the check, strange as we were the only two in the restaurant. However, with these minor setbacks, I will be coming back to try their noodles, soups, and desserts!

I have a soft spot for places with hyper-specific menu with small amount of items that they specialize in. The spring rolls were thicc with two "c" and the soup was so delicious. The meat was so tender it fell off the bone! 11/10 would recommend and come back myself. The staff is very welcoming and nice! The restaurant is small and fills in quick so you gotta get on a waitlist and pay attention hard when called. As an entertainment side story that is in no way regarding service here because guys nailed it well for how busy it was: We did have an "interaction" with another guest who was convinced we took her spot in line and were seated at "technically her table." While in reality they never even answered when were called (a person called them inside and came outside to call as well) and somebody else (a party of two) ended up being sat instead of them. When it was our turn, they didn't even call our party by name, the person running the shift just pointed at us and called us up because he knew we also were waiting for an hour and we had a friendly conversation earlier. But yeah, for some reason girly-pop really felt a need to not only tell us they were skipped "because of us" but go on nagging about it lol

If you're looking for something more relaxed, this is your spot. I enjoyed the subtle Japanese-inspired playlist in the background--it added to the overall ambiance without being distracting. The artwork gives the space a warm touch, especially the Bruce Lee painting. It feels like one of those places you can come back to regularly when you want something comforting and reliable. Definitely more comfort-focused than trendy, and that's part of the appeal. FOOD / DRINKS Spicy Miso Noodle Soup (Recommend) This was a solid bowl. You're getting a spicy miso broth with slow-cooked pork belly, bok choy, carrots, and noodles (ramen or udon)--so it hits that comforting, savory lane right away.
