This has been because of the amazing bar and entertainment staff - great drinks, great service, fun and friendly. The trivia and karaoke were the best I have seen in Anchorage, with a charismatic host and fun atmosphere. These days are, apparently, gone. I have visited twice in the last month, and both were some of the worst bar experiences I have ever had (and I've had some baaaad experiences in my life!). I'm not sure what happened to the staff that worked hard to make the Blue Fox a welcome, classic dive with chill and solid vibes, but whatever the mess is that's in place now is....something else. None of the serving staff seemed to know how to do...well...anything. On one visit, I ordered draft beer - pretty basic. After first returning to ask me for a reminder on what drink I ordered, they still brought me the wrong pour, and after what seemed like an excessive amount of time. I was going to order food, but someone at the table next to me leaned over (unsolicited) and told me I'd be better off skipping it. His actual words were "Don't. Save yourself". Yikes. On my other visit, I ordered an old fashioned. Whatever it was that they brought me, it wasn't anything even close, and it was undrinkable. I sent it back, and never saw a server again. On both visits, noone seemed to know how to use the computer system to get me a bill. I will also note that it was very empty there on both occasions. There is nothing I can think of or that I saw to justify or speak to the combination of slow service and level of bumbling chaos that happened. The place was dead. Not sure where the great entertainment guy went - he wasn't there on either visit, and it looked like no fun was being had by anyone. Something changed, folks. I don't know what, but hear me when I say that VIBES ARE OFF big time. In the words of the fella at the table next to me that night: Don't. Save yourself.

Watched a Japanese movie with subtitles, which was fun, but the other Theatre patrons were a little bit too serious about the movie. So you gotta pick your flick. Their pizza is not pizza. It is a realm of its own. As a girl from NJ, pizza is a conversation fighting point that can get violent. But I can tell you that what they make is totally unique ans delicious. There is something for almost everyone. I love 2 of their chicken pizzas- Spicy Thai (with peanut sauce) and Amazing Apricot (with Cilantro). They defy definition and are in a space all their own. The place is always SWAMPED with business because all 3 of their locations are wildly popular. My most recent visit with my adult children was not exception. There are 30 lanes, so lots of room for lots of people. Programming our names into the computer was pretty easy. To start we put three of us on each lane. I didn't realize the lanes were linked. It was crazy how fast the game play was and how many frames we fit it. It was a fun time and the bar kept us equipped with drinks. My only regret is not stretching first...

Peanut Farm is a sports grill that has been around for some time. The building has been through a few renovations with some additions to look like what it is today. It resembles a large log cabin. Peanut Farm is spacious and has several TV screens for sports viewing. There are also some pools tables near the bar. We grabbed a table that had a nice view of Campbell Creek through the window. Peanut Farm has a full menu that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. There was a page showcasing their appetizers and pizza selections. I got the Farm's Grilled Chicken with a cup of New England Clam Chowder. I was able to choose a couple of sides and had to try the corn fritters. I highly recommend them. We had a nice time here and it was a great way to wrap up my first trip to Alaska.
