I bought used car with limited 15 day warranty and the transmition failed the next day. They tried to get out of fixing it but finally they said they replaced it. They refused to send any paperwork to verify the repair. It took 5 days to repair and lasted, the last 8 days of the warranty and failed again. This review is extremely late. My husband and I bought a used car from Koppy several years ago. The body condition of the car was superb and we were told that the inspection showed the same. Not even a month into owning the car and it began overheating due to a bad head gasket. Upon reporting this to Koppy they claimed that we were told about the head gasket before buying the car and should have expected this to happen. This was a complete lie, we were never told of any problems with the car, the salesman spent more time talking about how he was "a good Christian man who could be trusted." Unfortunately he could not be trusted and we lost thousands of dollars because of this deal. read more

Ten months later (after purchasing the truck), the truck continues to run well. However the paint job, that the salesman refused to acknowledge despite the overspray evidence (he smugly dismissed it as "factory overspray"), is failing due to improper prep work. It is peeling in a few areas just under the topper. This should never happen in just 10 months for a properly prepped paint job. And of course the areas around the wheel wells (both sides of the truck) where they just sanded smooth existing rust and then painted it are looking bad now. The worst is the rocker panels under the doors. They just smeared body filler on top of the heavily rusted rocker panels and and painted over the body filler... it is falling off in chunks. I brought it to a body shop (Ogston's) and was quoted $7000 to replace the rocker panels, weld in wheel well patches and repaint properly. It is clear that Koppy Motors just did a sloppy careless job with the intent to just make the pickup look good and hide the rust for a quick sale. Living about 2 hours away from this dealership I wanted as much information on the truck I was interested as possible before driving to look at it. The guy I dealt with answered my questions quickly and was up front with anything about the truck that wasn't in perfect condition. He drove the truck and checked it over for me sending me pictures and a video. He let me know that there was an issue with operating the rear passenger window from the rear seat, showed me pictures of some rock chips in the paint and looked the truck over for any rust as that was a concern for me. I feel they were very upfront and honest about what they were selling. I bought a 2009 Chevy 2500HD ltz crew cab. I let them know I was specifically looking at that truck and they didn't try to sell me on something else. The dealership itself is very small and only sells used vehicles so there isn't a ton of selection if you were wanting to browse around for your next car or truck but I wouldn't hesitate to look at their website next time I was truck shopping. After a couple tanks of gas through this truck, I would say I'm happy with the experience. read more

Can you do less than 1 star??? MISLEADING ADVERTISEMENT.... On this advertisement, there was a pull tab type of card. The advertisement says, match to win. I pulled the tabs and matched three sevens on both sides. Looking on the mailed advertisement, it shows the top prize to be for matching three bars, and you win $25,000 cash. The next line show matching 3 sevens, and you get $5000 cash, and so on. You are asked to call a phone number if you are a winner, which just turns out to be a survey. Then to claim your prize, you need to go to the dealer in Forest Lake. I am assuming that this dealer has written enough terms and conditions to cover themselves legally. However, the way that this advertisement is structured, it is clearly meant to trick the unsuspecting consumer into thinking that they have won a larger CASH PRIZE. When you get to the dealer, you find out that the prize you win has absolutely nothing to do with the matching of the numbers on the card, but just a random code on the advertisement. Everyone is supposedly a winner, but instead of winning a $5000 cash prize, I was told that I won the small prize, a $25 gift card to some specific websites. When I was asked if I wanted that, I said fine (was quite upset, as you can imagine) Waited around for a while only to find out that they don't have any of these gift cards that supposedly EVERYONE that shows up to the dealer wins. Tell me what I think ... alright! Well, I got into a car accident, needed a new vehicle so I was sold a used 2010 Chevy Impala. 4 days after purchase I notice hesitation when driving. Contacted my sales person, Joe, and explained the situation. He said bring it in and we will have it looked at. 2 days alter .. it was diagnosed with a faulty transmission and it needed to be replaced. $2000 repair for a vehicle I just got 4 days prior. No help from the dealership. Obviously I didn't have that money lying around so I couldn't get it fixed right away. About 2 weeks later, my car won't start .. had it towed to a shop locally and the starter went it. Had to get that replaced. $300 fix. ... a couple weeks later I was then told my radiator has a crack in it and is leaking coolant, needed that replaced ... $600 fix. Did I get any help from koppy? NO. Did I ever get calls back?NO. Do NOT buy a vehicle from this shop. They sell lemons. I have put $4000 into a vehicle I just bought which is about the value of the actual vehicle. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM KOPPY MOTORS!!!!!! PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU PURCHASE!!!!! I bought a 2010 Land Rover LR2 from the about 6 weeks ago. Paid 18,000 plus I got the warranty they offered. They told me there were no problems with it and that they had fixed everything from the previous owner. Two days ago my car started overheating and my check engine light came on. I have only had this car for 40 days, and haven't even made my first payment on it. I spoke with someone who is knowledgable with cars and he informed me that it was most likely the coolant fan. I called the dealership to see what my warranty covered and they couldn't give me any answers. Just told me to bring it to a mechanic and have them contact the warranty company. I asked several times if the radiator coolant fan would be covered and they said I would just have to bring it in to a mechanic. I brought it into a mechanic and they told me it needs a new radiator coolant fan, a new radiator coolant module, my spark plugs are failing, I need a new ignition coil, and it needs a new oxygen sensor. I had given them the warranty information and apparently my $4,000 warranty only covers internal lubricated moving parts. I spoke with the dealership today and they told me to contact Zack, a sales manager I believe. He didn't answer my first call and I left a message. I called again about a half hour later and he told me he would pull up my file and check my warranty, and stated that my warranty should cover more than what the mechanic was told. He said he'd pull my file and give me a call back. An hour later, I still didn't hear anything, and tried to call him and got no answer. About half hour later, the employee that had originally sold me the car, Chad, called me and said he would look at my file and see what the warranty covers and call me back. An hour later, I still hadn't received a call back. I called there again and spoke with Dan. He asked me to email over the diagnostic results and that my best bet would be to bring it in to their service shop and have them look at it. I'm about 120 miles away, and I asked if I got it towed there if I would have to pay for parts and labor, and he told me he wasn't quite sure. So why would I pay $300 to have it towed there and then have to pay the $2500 in repair fees? Not to mention, they couldn't do the work on it when they first had it and had sent it down to American imports to be fixed. I emailed them my diagnostic report at about 2pm today before I had to work. Called back at 5:15 and was told that Dan was out of the office. I asked them if they could have him call me back around 6:15 when I have my 30 minute break. I called back a little after 6 and was told he was tied up with things and sent to voice mail. I called back at 630 and spoke with Dan again and he said that I should get a second opinion because sometimes mechanics just like to 'look for work.' He recommended me to tow it down to their service shop and that he may be able to provide discounted parts and discounted labor. I called back to get a better idea of what the discount would be but he was not there and this is where I'm at right now. I sent an email and left a voice mail on Friday, and they are open Saturday and also today (Monday), and when I called today, I was told he wasn't working. I understand that I may just be a very unlucky person and all of these things just happened to go bad after I bought the car, but you would think a decent dealership would at least have a little remorse if you bought the car less than two months ago and be able to help me more than just telling me to get it towed and that they 'may be able to offer a discount.' No the owner, Dan, won't even take my calls anymore. I will continue to update you all on my situation. Please do not waste your time with these people! They are very rude and do not care about you as a customer after they get your signatures and money. Please rethink and buy somewhere else!! took my car in to have it diagnosed for a fuel leak problem. They did a smoke test and told me the fuel neck needed to be replaced and that it would take 2 months to get the part. I ordered it and payed $300 towards it. Later I called Koppy moters and told them I was canceling the work. I realize I would pay a restocking fee for it but they refuse to refund any of the money and will not return my phone calls.
