First trip to Korea Chefs was a great experience all around. My friend and I were the first people there right after 4:30, we were greeted and told to sit wherever we liked. Our server was very sweet & efficient. I had initially heard that there was a happy hour but there wasn't any happy hour menu that we were given (I didn't ask though). When I first saw the menu provided by someone on FB's South Alabama Foodies group I thought "Oh wow, this is a BIG menu with both sushi & Korean food". Since then, the menu is quite a bit more edited. My friend and I opted to get two "cold dish" appetizers, the scallop carpaccio, & the crispy rice spicy tuna. Both hit the spot, I hadn't had raw scallops in quite a while and these were nice & thinly sliced with jalapeños, cilantro and a ponzu-like sauce. The Crispy rice was fried sticky rice topped with nicely seasoned (and not TOO spicy) tuna, jalapeños, eel sauce & spicy mayo or yum yum sauce. It really reminded me of the Tuna Kadomo from Jinsei sushi in Birmingham (and I love that dish). Both apps get 5 stars. For dinner, I opted for the beef bulgogi bibimbap and it was so flavorful and tender. So many nice vegetables, fresh & pickled for accompaniment. My friend got the pork bulgogi which came on a skillet with cabbage and onions underneath. It was equally as tender and flavorful as my beef bulgogi. The 6 complimentary dishes of banchan were all lovely. I definitely plan to go again & try more things on the menu. While I'm sad that the sushi offerings have shrunk, I imagine it is better for their overall functioning as a restaurant. I'm so happy to have another Asian restaurant in Daphne! This place is new but a welcome addition to the area. The dining area is fresh and clean with a minimalist vibe. The service is okay but a little slower given they only had 2 staff for the front, so I'd recommend giving yourself a little extra time to experience this place. The food was pretty good but slightly underwhelming. I hope to try the rolls next time to get a well-rounded take on their menu. I have been to Korea chef a few times since they opened. My first visit was underwhelming. I arrived expecting a large sushi menu that is posted online only to find out that they are no longer offering the speciality rolls when busy. The fried rice and bi-bim-bap were not the best and service was slow. I left not expecting to go back. After going two additional visits I would say overall Korea Chef offers a wide variety of menu items and some are quite delicious. I am a big fan of the D.F.C roll and Kalbi. One of my visits we waited about 45 minutes to place our order. Currently their team is small, I recommend going if you have plenty of time and can enjoy the experience. It pains me to give this place 3/5, but the service was awful and many others complained about the same thing. There was a lady that appeared to be a server, but only sat you brought you drinks and then it was radio silent. My friends and I waited quite a while to order apps and entrees, but when we could, it was awesome. The food was delectable a special shout out to the monkey brains. We lived in Seoul for two years and didn't realize this place had opened until two months late! We visited on a Sat for lunch! It was amazing! Very happy to see actual Korean owners and Cook! Every dish was delicious and took us right back to Korea! I noticed one reviewer said something was bland... NOT TRUE! Every dish was seasoned perfectly and the appropriate sauces and sides (such as fermented foods) were provided. It was perfect and we couldn't stop eating. In particular, I loved the Spicy Soup which, until now I had not been able to find of quality in the US. This will become a regular place for us and we'll definitely take friends there too! Lunchtime meal. Menu is extensive with a great variety to choose from including tons of sushi. The inside ambiance is comfy and the place is not all that big. I ordered spicy pork bulgogi and it came with hot white rice. Also get a selection of 5 different banchan which was a pleasant surprise. I also ordered a squid salad but it never came so I didn't get to try it. The food was sizzling hot. I enjoyed it and took some home for a snack. They don't have a lunch menu and drinks come in bottles with a glass of ice which I liked. After a fab tip I got out with a $29 total bill. **5/5 Stars** Absolutely loved this spot! The food was fantastic and the service really stood out, everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. Every dish we tried was a hit. The *spicy shrimp ramen* had the perfect kick with a deep, comforting broth and plenty of shrimp (tempura style and served on the side). The *beef bulgogi* was tender, flavorful, and nicely balanced with that classic savory-sweet taste (tasted just like what we had in Korea a few years ago). We also ordered *chicken nuggets and french fries* for our toddler. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Perfectly fried and not overly salty. The *kimchi pancake*was a standout- crispy yet soft and savory. It was served with a delicious spicy and vinegary dipping sauce. The *side dishes (banchan)* were fresh, plentiful, and delicious, which is always a big plus. The ambience is cute and clean, with a cozy interior that feels well taken care of. One small note: when we first arrived, it was very quiet- like library-level quiet. I'd love to see them eventually add some K-pop or light background music to give the space a little more energy. Took us a little bit to get here, but so glad we finally made it out. Korean husband and I decided to try this place for lunch today, and it was great! We ordered the seafood pancake (soooo good), jjangmyeon (pro tip- ask for the pickled radish to eat with it), kimbap, and beef yakisoba. Everything was fresh, delicious, and authentic. Can't wait to come back to try the tofu soup and bibimbap. read more

First time having Korean food -- no notes. Drove an hour to eat here and it was amazing, I would come everyday if I could.

Was underwhelmed, especially based on previous reviews. Wanted to call to get takeaway or Uber Eats but they have no phone and are not signed up for delivery. Spent $85 on Cucumber salad, shrimp pancake, combo beef and spicy chicken, spicy shrimp ramen, and salmon carpaccio. The carpaccio was the best part, and my bf scarfed it down bf I could get more than one bite. We will try again in-store...to-go may have been the downfall. Cucumber salad was not flavorful or mixed- DIY. Beef and chicken combo was good, shrimp pancake bland, as was the ramen. Server was super sweet as was other staff. We walked in for a dinner the first time there. Waiting inside the entrance 5 minutes for the staff to guide us to a table but no staff taking care of us. The staff just walked through us to the table next to where we were standing and no hello or say " wait a minute, I will come back to you soon" something like that. But nothing happened. They just totally ignored the customer (us). I thought maybe this restaurant needs customers to help themselves to find a table. So we sit at an available table and hoping the staff will come to us.
