I ordered the kimche fried rice with chicken for a lunch one day. It was ready and hot when I picked it up and it was wrapped very well. The rice had the perfect amount of heat and it came with a sunny side up egg. The egg was a little too runny for me and the chicken marinade tasted like poor quality teriyaki. I absolutely adore Korean BBQ Grill. Here is my review after 4 years of visiting the restaurant. The food is always fresh, well-flavored, and great quality. I don't have extensive experience with authentic Korean food, but my gut and tastebuds tell me that Korean BBQ Grill is pretty darn close! I've had many dining experiences at Korean BBQ Grill ranging from dine-in, takeout, and UberEats delivery (pre-pandemic through present day), and the food quality has remained consistent, the staff has been accommodative and friendly, there is menu variety and new items are added over time. Portion sizes are great too! I've eaten a number of dishes from KBBQ Grill including the Beef Bulgogi boxes, Gal-Bi boxes, Beef Gal-Bi meal, Chicken Wings (various flavors), Boiled & Fried Dumplings, Korean Hot Dogs, Ramen, Kim-Bap, Soups, Pork-belly, Bubble Tea, Vegetable dishes, Kimchi (YUM), you name it! Pricing can vary for some items (Beef Gal-Bi meal includes the meat over raw cabbage, side of white rice, and 3 additional sides for around $40, 6pc boiled dumplings is around $8, 6pc fried chicken wing is around $13). The statements of consistency, flavor, portions, and quality remain, regardless of the dish. There have been some changes in the offerings over time, particularly with the items below, but they are still enjoyable. I'd love to see them reintroduced some day, but understand that there may have been reasons for the changes: Beef Gal-Bi Meal (not box): the meal used to be presented on a bed of raw onions that got ever-so-slightly steamed from the residual heat of the meat. Now, it's served over a bed of raw cabbage. As an onion lover, the onions added a nice bite to the meat and made a great pairing considering the acidity of the onion and the meaty, smoky flavor of the Gal-Bi. The cabbage still works, but the onions really took things to another level. Bulgogi and Gal-Bi boxes: the boxes used to come with a bone-in fried chicken wing, not boneless (or it might've been a choice in the past if I remember correctly), but now they only come with the boneless wing. I prefer the bone-in wing over the boneless. Both are tasty, but something about the bone-in wing is lighter and overall just makes a difference. An overview of each dining experience: *Dine-In* Staff is super friendly, helpful, and accommodative. There are two seating areas separated by clear partitions (done during pandemic, pre-pandemic had more seating). Space is clean, decorated nicely with what appear to be cultural representations paired with seemingly personal touches from the owner (there's currently a really nice dollhouse/figurine set up on display). Catchy K Pop and American music is played (but not annoyingly), and overall, there is a homey feel that lives in the restaurant. Dishes are served, with sealed plastic fork or spoon and wooden chopsticks. In my recent visits, dine-in food has been served in takeout containers (except for soups). The container part might just be situational. I'm unsure if it applies across the board. Pre-pandemic, food was served in plates and bowls with silverware (including metal chopsticks). I completely appreciate the precautions taken and the transition to sealed single-use utensils and disposable containers. It's surely an important practice. I do find myself missing the old tableware, it just added to the homey-feel but, no harm done on the satisfaction side of things! Some sustainability considerations can be taken into account, but overall, it works. Great place to dine-in for some alone time! *Takeout* Things are well packaged with attention to separating items that could affect quality in transit (like packaging noodles and soup broth separately). Takeout is great! *Delivery* My deliver destination is approximately 3 miles from the restaurant. Often times, things have arrived at room temperature or slightly above (except for soups, they are still hot most times). This isn't a deal breaker for me because everything is still enjoyable for the most part. I'd just love to see packaging that can maintain food temperature in transit. Other than that, I love having KBBQ Grill at home! There was a time where I ordered delivery at least 2x/week. The restaurant is cash only. To pay with card, a pickup order must be made via their site either in-restaurant or prior. Overall, Korean BBQ Grill in New Rochelle is a gem, and will always hold a place in my heart and memory, as it has played a huge part in my Korean Food experience and is the source of my Kimchi obsession! read more

KOREAN BBQ GRILL There are no Korean Barbecue spots in The Bronx, so to drive to New Rochelle which is a little less than 15 minutes away it's worth it. At KBBQ, so far I've mainly had their crispy yet juicy, Korean Fried Chicken Wings which I think are better than MFC (Mad For Chicken). Ranking wise KBBQ 1st, MFC 2nd, all others are runners up IMO. The interior is fairly sized, with a few tables that were available for use Pre-COVID. The space is clean and vibrantly decorated. Right now, as with all re-opened restaurants they are only offering take out or delivery. Metered street parking is available, but if you ask they'll be willing to meet you curbside if you can't find a parking spot. Prices are fair, service is relatively quick and friendly. I ordered the spicy pork box, bulgogi box, wings and kimchi. I found the food to be somewhat flavorful but falling short of traditional Korean cuisine. I also found the quantity, considering they were dinner plates- to be a little lacking. More importantly the flavors of the foods have definitely been dumbed down for American taste. Don't get me wrong- the food is good, just not great. I will return to try other foods, such as bibimbap, which historically are cornucopias of smell and taste. If you're near New Rochelle, definitely stop by the Korean BBQ Grill! As someone who orders the soon dubu at every Korean restaurant I visit, I was pleasantly surprised by the large ratio of seafood to soup and the authenticity of its taste :) I also tried a Korean corn dog for the first time, which the restaurant had fried to create the ~perfect~ crunch. The staff here are so friendly, and although there is sadly no indoor dining at the moment, I recommend trying take-out. For any boba addicts, this place offers a variety of flavors to go with your meal, including unique ones like guava or lychee that I'm excited to try in the future. Since this place just hit the one-year opening mark, it is time for an update! I have been back multiple times and this is my go-to spot for a (relatively) quick but fulfilling meal. This place has improved a lot since the last year when I walked in as the first customer. The menu is now updated and printed on nice colored papers with clear photos. I always go for the hot bibimbap or lunch/dinner box. The owner, Jasmine, is always really nice. She actually started in the restaurant industry in Westchester. I will preface this review by noting that I am Korean and so all my comments should be read in light of the fact that I grew up eating most of this stuff on the menu and can make most of it myself. First, the fried chicken. Very good. Better than that bonchon chain nonsense. I cannot make Korean fried chicken at home so whenever I crave it, to Korean BBQ Grill I go. The spicy fried chicken is indeed spicy but not overwhelmingly so. If you do takeout or delivery it will not be as good bc it is not fresh so either rush home with it or dine in! I really love their fried chicken. Other food on the menu: 3.5 stars. A bit sweeter than how I would make it, but definitely catered to the American palate. This was only the second time I have been at a Korean restaurant. Both times with a Korean friend who knows what good Korean food is. Although this restaurant t is not fancy you certainly get authentic Korean cooking as I confirmed with my Korean dining partner. The owner could not have been nicer and her staff was equally pleasant.the food was very good. Small place with limited menu options. Staff was very kind and seemed like they really want to provide great service. The neighborhood is somewhat sketchy, but probably not dangerous. When we came here the bubble tea was really good! The food was ok, but nothing I would venture back up here for (I live about 45 minutes away, we were just passing through this area). But the staff is friendly and the food is pretty good. We had three dishes. The seafood pancake was huge, but a little undercooked. The KFC wings were good, but could have been a bit crispier.
