The New Golden Wok is a pleasant place to order Chinese cuisine. This truly the basic Chinese foods at a cheap affordable price, and it is quite good too. New Golden Wok is the kind of place that I feel is perfect for a student like me because of its budget friendly and reasonable portion sizes. There is a very wide variety of menu items, and I have been pleased with all of them so far. My typical order would be something from the lunch special with a side of the egg drop soup. I have made better egg drop soup, but when you're in a time pinch, it'll do. The services were friendly and nothing out of the ordinary. The cashier is quick and kind of makes any recommendations as the large menu can be overwhelming. The eating space is rather small. There are some customers using the tables to wait or eat, but during the typical lunch hour, I would not count on being able to eat inside. How is it an old menu when I ordered two times in a row in one week and went by the menu and pricing only to order the following week and was told those are "old prices" if you wanna tip so bad, try adding utensils and napkins and not having someone wait over an hour to receive their food. Horrible service they don't listen properly to your order and charges you $15 for orders over the phone for debit or credit even if it's lower that $15 dollars . Not bad! I was surprised to see a Chinese "take-out" place that offers a number of tables inside. The place is clean and spacious. The picture menu is really helpful and its paper menu is massive. The egg drop soup was clearly Americanized and to me, it was just okay. The string beans, however, were much better than I had anticipated. It was not overly greasy. The spare ribs didn't taste that great and it clearly had food coloring on it. I wouldn't get the spare ribs in the future. Note the food came in really hot as it meant for take-out and stay warm for a long time. If you eat in, open the containers careful and don't burn yourself. A good spot for the local community if you want to get your Americanized Chinese food fix. Available for both dine-in and take-out. A credit card minimum does apply so better bring cash. read more

Me and my family were craving for some Chinese food so we stopped at this corner restaurant /take out, we ordered boneless ribs with pork fried rice , beef and broccoli with pork fried rice, 3 egg rolls ,eggdrop soup and a small pork fried rice with eggs in it the boneless spare ribs were very chewy the rice was undercooked the egg rolls were so greasy and beef and broccoli was slimy, I will not be going back there again so disappointing ended up throwing more then half the food away read more

Easily best Chinese place in New Rochelle, maybe even in Westchester. Obviously known for it take out. I was put on to this by other avid lovers and it held up to the hype. 5 stars because there are very few Chinese places that are actually good in this area in addition to fantastic food. The general tso chicken is fried perfectly and not overly sweetened. Dumplings are also worth trying, I prefer steamed over fried but can't go wrong either way. Prices are reasonable as well. I'd say the only downside is that they have never ever gotten my drink selection right. I've probably ordered about 4 times from them so far and I've ordered diet coke each time and each time it's been anything Except diet coke. The food was not very good at all. Very greasy and the staff were not welcoming either. I came here for a quick meal with my family to waste time before going bowling. I ordered fried rice with General Tao Chicken and lo mein which came with a complementary egg roll. With a Snapple drink it all came out to about $11. I totally needed tupperware. - Only place so far nearby that automatically gives UTENSILS & NAPKINS to eat the food with when I ordered delivery (the other 2 places I tried were the only ones ever, in like all of America, that didn't automatically give me utensils & napkins.) - Food is cheap, delivered pretty fast, & is for the most part good. - LUNCH SPECIALS are a good deal, like most Chinese places in the city (NYC) & other places would give you...good portion of the main dish you ordered vs. the amount of free rice given. - Any veggies & meat combo. (except the BBQ pork, which is sadly dry a lot of times) taste very good & seem fresh. I've eaten here plenty of times for my lunch break and their food has usually been ok and tasted good but the last time I ate here which was last week, I ordered the boneless chicken and some of the pieces of the chicken texture was weird and also smelled weird. Some pieces tasted like chicken and was the same texture as regular boneless chicken you buy from the supermarket and cook at home and others were very tough and in edible and when I inspected andpulled those pieces apart they didn't tear away like regular boneless chicken (were very tough like jerky). At first I thought perhaps the pieces weren't cooked all the way through until I pulled the questionable pieces apart and looked closely and smelled them. This actually worried me and I had to throw most of it away. I don't know if it was really chicken or pieces of real chicken mixed with something else. I also showed it to my co-worker who also bought food from here and she also was concerned and thought something was wrong with the chicken as well as she watched me I pulled apart the pieces of inedible chicken with my hands. Due to this I will not be eating here anymore and caution others not to eat the boneless chicken. If you are brave enough to eat the boneless chicken inspect it so you can see what I am referring to. read more

This place is my go-to Chinese takeout spot in downtown new Rochelle. They have a pretty cheap lunch special with a decent amount of food. What I really like is that they have a vegetarian and vegan menu. They should certainly push that more because I didn't know about it until I went inside and saw another menu next to the actual one. My one gripe is that no matter how spicy I ask them to make any dish (even if it has chilies next to it) there's no kick. At all. I end up dumping hot sauce on everything.
