Went for lunch today with my wife and in-laws. First time dining in the restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and quantity of the food and the attentive service. We started out with both the fried dum and shumai; the dumplings were excellent and the shumai were overcooked. The japchae noodles were superb and the salmon salad was finished to the last drop of dressing. For entrees, the braised short ribs were excellent and the teriyaki salmon scrumptious, the portion being so large that half went home. The spicy braised chicken was a hit with my in-law and my wife wound up taking the rest of her bimbap home for tomorrow's lunch. All in all, we were very pleased with the meal. The owner was kind enough to bring out a desert we had asked him to keep refrigerated with two candles to celebrate one of my in-law's birthday. He also accommodated us by turning on the air conditioning when we entered and turning the temperature up when it got a little chilly. We'll be going back soon. read more

Came here for KBBQ and had a pretty disappointing experience. The server put four different meats and vegetables on the grill at the same time, crowding the surface and layering the meat so heavily that it couldn't cook properly. Everything ended up steaming together instead of grilling well. When I politely pointed out that this wasn't really the right way to cook it, the response was passive aggressive and rude rather than helpful. Came to Yeomiji randomly on a Thursday for lunch and it's pretty spacious, not too many people. There is a nice parking lot outside for the complex with multiple restaurants and it's metered parking. The restaurant is for korean bbq but not only korean bbq so you would have to request a grill seat if you want bbq. The servers were an older couple, seems like the restaurant is family owned, and they were both very nice and helpful. They were efficient at taking our orders and the menu seemed pretty typical of korean bbq. We got the bbq combo for 2 and it came with a couple kinds of beef, a chicken, and a pork. We also got korean cold noodles. Our server grilled the meat for us and they were cooked well. Overall, the taste was average, difficult to compare with the kbbqs I've had in NYC or in NJ. Decided to try this place and stopped in for lunch. The restaurant itself is very pretty and very social distanced with plastic barriers and screens between tables. It's done well so people feel safe. We started off with the Kalbi soup which was flavorful with short rib, wonderful glass noodles and scallion. It was hot and delicious. For entrées, we ordered the beef bulgogi in a hot stone bowl and The spicy pork Bulgogi. Wow, these were excellent. They arrived with a sunny side up egg perfectly cooked, adorning the top. Pretty good menu with fusionish items (k burger and tacos) as well as traditional items. We ordered Ginseng chicken soup, bulgogi gimbop, and galbijjim. In general, it was good but nothing special. Food? 2-stars for the 'burbs but would be a solid 1-star compared to anything in the city. What was particularly terrible about this experience was the attitude of the wait staff and an older Asian man with glasses, who I presumed was the owner. I arrived with a party of 7 on a Saturday evening. It wasn't busy. We didn't have reservations but we were seated immediately. Order taken and food arrived fairly quickly, but one item was missing. No big deal. We'd just eat and order something later if we still wanted it later. We checked with the wait staff to make ensure it wasn't on the tab, and he confirmed it wasn't. Midway through the meal, the owner came by and started taking away empty plates. Thought nothing of it, except he was clearing plates with food still on it. We asked if he could just leave those plates with food and take away only the empty ones. He huffed. "Someone take the food so I can take the plate." Ok, whatever grumpy uncle. I guess we'll just eat on your command. Again, thought little of it. Didn't want to create a scene, particularly as we had kids with us. Some in the party just took the food and he cleared those plates. Ten minutes passed and he returned, hovering over us seemingly looking for empty plates. This dude was obsessed with clearing plates! No plates right now, my man! We then decided that, in fact, we wanted the item that hadn't been brought out and informed the owner. "You can have it as takeout," was his response. "We'd like to have it now, not later." "We're very busy. This is a large table and we have it reserved for others." Looking around at that point, I couldn't help but notice that there were a number of empty tables. Additionally there was NO ONE WAITING at the door for a table. It was 8pm, a bit past dinner time in the suburbs so I doubt there was a huge crowd heading in. Their posted hours also indicated they were open until 10pm. We protested and informed the owner that had we known we'd be rushed out like this for his imaginary customers, we would've gone elsewhere. But at the time we were seated, no one said "oh by the way, you're a large party without a reservation and we have a large party reserved for later, but we'll seat you if you can finish by 8pm." I've encountered this before and I've appreciated that honesty. Let me know there's a time limit on my dining, and I can then decide if I want to stay before I've been seated and start eating. But again, no one but the owner informed us of this until we asked to order one more item. He had no response to this and just walked away. We ended up not ordering the item and, as we weren't done, we stayed a bit to finish the meal. It frankly ruined what otherwise would've been a mediocre Korean meal in the suburbs. No matter. We won't be returning. The owner can keep all the empty plates and empty tables for his future imaginary customers, waiting for that one large party that had reservations for the evening. Perhaps it was the President of the United States? King Charles, maybe? Not sure. But whoever it was, the owner highly anticipated their arrival to roll out that red carpet. Good luck Yeomiji! I've been here many times and usually enjoy it. It's a cute place in the heart of Scarsdale village. This time was different and did not feel right. The older man who I presume is the owner, was waiting our table and began expressing noticeable hostility toward us almost immediately after ordering. He commented on how we hadn't ordered food of high enough value and made us feel like we had done something wrong. After giving him my card, he came back and stated it hadn't worked. I told him I've been having issues with the chip and gave him a different card to try. He **scoffed** and literally flicked the card out of the holder at me. The second card went through fine. I've experienced rudeness now and then from waiters over the years, but this felt different. It's almost like this man was deeply angry inside and was misdirecting this aggression towards us throughout the dinner. Maybe the restaurant is struggling or he is dealing with other problems, but to subject patrons of his restaurant to that hostility is unacceptable. After getting home, both my wife and I did not feel well from the food. Both of our stomachs hurt, accompanied by bloating and cramps. Not a good sign. I've recommended a number of people to this establishment in the past and will be contacting them to update my opinion. I've worked in service in my youth and can assure you that this was an inappropriate experience on multiple levels. My partner and I were so delighted to find a Korean restaurant in Scarsdale. It's in a very cute area and the restaurant looked nice and modern as we walked in. My partner is a vegetarian so it was nice to see that there were options available for him. What really shocked me were the prices on the menu. my partner and I don't mind spending money on a good meal. However, the quality and/or quantity should somewhat reflect the price point. I ordered the salmon hwe dup bap and he ordered the dolsot tofu bibimbap. The stone bowl pots are a considerable size which I give them credit for, but my 22 dollar salmon sashimi rice bowl wasn't something to write home about. Both our sauces seemed really diluted (maybe to cater to the population they are serving?) The Cho gochu jang shouldn't be as thin as water... even so, my partner thought that had more flavor than his sauce, so he used the rest of my sauce for his bibimbap. We were also disappointed that we didn't get any side dishes. We saw that the tables around us got side dishes. We really didn't have a chance to ask for anything extra since the wait staff didn't check on us once besides taking our order and delivering the food to us. Another thing that I feel compelled to mention is the ridiculous price of the Kimbap. I really love kimbap but it shouldn't cost more than 10 dollars, MAX! Prices of kimbap in NYC have gone up dramatically in the past couple of years, but they have not broken the double digits. When I inquired about it, the waitress told me there were "two rows," so I thought, okay, then that price makes sense. She then came back to me and apologized and told me it was actually eight pieces. I told her to cancel it. (I did appreciate her follow up though). We also ordered their 3 or 4 dollar soda, never came, so we asked them to take it off our bill. No problem, but honestly, if they had followed up even once, then they would've made that sale. Started with fried pork dumplings wow they were so light and super crunchy. Also tried vegetable dumplings that were just as good. Like big tortellini and tasted great. Ordered crispy wings with glazed soy and onions. They were so moist and still super crunchy . We tried Korean spicy tacos. There were good but was missing something. I ordered spicy pork Bulgogi omg I loved this dish. Pork was grilled crispy but tender. So many flavors going on but none over powering . They give you all the sides. Wow the Kimchi was amazing. Also ordered Udon chicken stir fry wow what a dish. Homemade noodles melted in your mouth. Mouth watering again thinking of this dinner. Really top notch and really enjoyed this treat. Overall, this place is good. This is one of two real deal on the table Korean BBQ that we have in Westchester for sure. So I came her twice. The first time, I forgot to tell the waitress-just a smidge of spicy and lord behold that beef soup thingy came out volcano red. I am sweating in pain thinking and writing about it right now. Yeomiji in Scarsdale is a good Korean restaurant also offering table grills for Korean BBQ. It is not self-serve nor did we see an all-you-can-eat option which is common among Korean BBQ restaurants. Outdoor dining was available but with no heaters we opted to eat inside and we wanted the BBQ so eating outside wasn't an option for that meal. From the outside the restaurant looks small but it's about an average size. There is an area portioned off with a few tables by the window and then a nice size bar before opening to the main dining room. Comfortable chairs and nice décor are inside. Yeomiji offer many options for lunch with specials offered daily including weekends from 11:00 - 2:30. We selected the $61 set platter consisting of Kalbi, Bulgogi, Pork Bulgogi and Grilled Chicken, onions and a slice of squash. Condiment sauces, along with pieces of romaine were served on the side which enhanced the flavor of the meat & poultry. The gentlemen who made our lychee martinis was also the person who cooked our food tableside. One of the beef dishes did not fit on the barbecue so we had a "round two." We needed more sesame paste and romaine lettuce which was brought after our request. The proteins were good but the squash never softened up and wasn't seasoned so it was bitter and too hard to eat. We were underwhelmed with the banchan although the steamed egg was cooked perfectly. I like mine with a hint more sweetness but it was still good and fluffy. The steamed egg is upon request which is stated on the menu. (We obviously ordered it since I'm critiquing it) and I don't believe we were charged for it. On the whole it was an ok BBQ. We plan to return to try one of the hot stone lunches special bibimbaps which were popular with the other diners and looked very hearty and appetizing. My review is based on the BBQ. I would like to give 3.5 stars but that's not available here on Yelp. Too bad they don't update the star ratings to include 1/2. We dined here on at least three separate occasions in the last two years, and two times we had experienced passive-aggressive attitude from the elderly gentlemen serving us that we have stopped going to Yeomiji. The unfortunate thing is that the food is tasty & good and we are big fans of Korean food.... but refuse to be discriminated against. Once, the elderly server complained we didn't order enough. We were a party of four but ordered three entrees because we are Asian and aren't used to the big American portions. Why is this an issue for the customer? We often make it up to the server with a bigger tip, but that attitude was off putting. A second time, he was especially curt when asked about getting the check & taking out leftovers. He saw us look to catch his eye and get his attention, but clearly ignored. It was an unpleasant experience to say the least! We noticed he is especially bad tempered to people of Chinese ethnicity. At first, we thought he just had a bad day, but it is worth calling out because I have noticed that on at least two occasions. I hope this review empowers others who have experienced similar bad service to call it out! We had an outstanding dinner at Yeomiji a few days ago. While you can eat inside their restaurant while being socially distant, we decided to eat outside in a large tent that has been constructed to provide diners from different restaurants to enjoy their meals in the fresh air.Yeomiji has specific tables reserved for their guests and their staff will provide table service which is what we did. We loved their menu which included lots of vegetarian and vegan choices as well as meats depending on your dietary needs. We found their food to be tasty and healthy too! As a Korean myself, I tend to have a higher standard when it comes to the food of my own culture and this place in my opinion was average. While the service was nice and the Korean owners came around to ask how we were doing, the food for the high price ($18 for a lunch special?) fell below the mark. The kimbap we ordered had was a bit thick and the ratio of bulgogi to vegetables to rice were a bit off. The japchae on the other hand was stellar-- one of the most flavorful I have ever had. However when it came to the entrees, the spicy pork was okay while the mul naengmyeon was regrettably bad. At least the little side dishes were alright. While I always want to support fellow Koreans in America, I'm still gonna have to trek into Koreatown in Manhattan or look elsewhere. read more

Me and my friend came here with her mom and LITTLE sister, for a nice dinner... we were the only customer minorities. We were sat down and had to ask for our order to be taken at the front after about 20 minutes whilst tables with non minorities (THAT ENTERED AFTERR USS) got their drinks and orders taken right away. The place looked nice and clean, parking was convenient, and the hostess greeted us and sat us right away. She gave us a bottle of water and a few glasses. That was about it. After a while, we realized we had been sitting there for 20 minutes without anybody coming over to introduce themselves or take our order. A few employees walked right past us several times and didn't make eye contact, didn't greet us, or anything! It was almost as if we were being ignored on purpose. We waited another 10 minutes. When we got to a half hour of being ignored, we felt that was enough and went to Gyu Kaku in White Plains instead. I can't say with my whole chest that this is exactly what Korean cuisine should be, BUT, I sure did notice and appreciate the different Korean dishes and flavors they place has to offer. When you're seated, you're given complimentary side dishes such as kimchi, cucumber kimchi, a type of squash potato salad, broccoli and bean sprouts. I've been here once for the kitchen food, and once for BBQ. Both experiences have been amazing! I've ordered the Bibimbap with chicken (yum), Kimchi Pancake(a bit on the spicy side and very delicious), their Avocado and Mango salad - VERY tasty and refreshing, the BBQ combo which includes Beef, Pork and Chicken (this is for 2. It comes with two bowls of white rice and lettuce leaves. But the meat is enough to share with a party of 4 depending on how hungry you are), their Beef Fried Rice and their Non Spicy Chicken Ramen (which can also be ordered spicy). Everything was tasty. The BBQ was cool to experience and although many people are complaining about the price, we must take note that Korean BBQ is not going to be cheap. At least not in New York. But it's worth paying. The meat is delicious, the sides are too! The service is friendly and the owner takes pride in his restaurant for all of the right reasons. You can tell he's a hard working man who loves Korean food and just wants to share it with Westchester. For that reason alone, I love this place. Ahhh Scarsdale. Where the portions are smaller and check is larger. I enjoy this place. A number of delicious vegetarian options and plenty of regular options as well. The whole bbq at the table is a gimmick but if that's what you are looking for this is a great spot to show off your culinary skills. I prefer for the trained professionals to cook my food not Uncle Jeff so I usually go with a regular table and to order off the regular menu. My favorite is the entree of fried rice with kimchi. At 19 bucks it's definitely on the smaller side but again ....Scarsdale prices. The various Korean tacos are also delicious and for a place that doesn't specialize in Ramen theirs is definitely worthy. Overall a kool little spot and everything is always delicious but it's definitely a bit pricey. But if you are looking for a deal definitely don't look for it in Scarsdale Village. read more
