I came here with a friend who is Korean American. I asked him to order the food since the only Korean food I've had before was Korean barbecue and I wanted to try other dishes. We started off with a pancake that is made with some gimchi and onions. I liked it but it's very deep fried. My friend had a noodle dish that is made with black bean paste. I tried it and liked it very much. I had a dish of sweet potato noodles with beef and mushrooms. There was not a lot of beef in it there, there were a lot of mushrooms. We celebrated my birthday here with a lunch on Friday. Both my son and daughter were adopted from Korea. So, we all have been to Korea and eat Korean food often. We are knowledgeable about the cuisine. The place is clean and the server was polite and friendly. We ordered a chicken bibimbap, a pork bibimbap, a chicken jap chae, bulgogi, and a scallion pancake appetizer for four people. The meal started out with the usual dish of accompaniments. Ours had kimchi cabbage, pickled zucchini, pickled potatoes, and some fish slices. We asked for more, and the server gladly brought us another tray. We loved the crispy yet doughy pancake triangles. My 84-year-old mom loved the jap chae but the rest of us thought the noodles were too gooey (a bit overdone). Bulgogi is one of our favorite Korean dishes. This one, too, was overdone. We actually had a few crispy pieces of beef in the pile. The bibimbaps were OK but the sauce was a bit thick. The food was decent but just average. The order in question consists of 2 portions of pork shumai and 2 servings of kimchi jigae (kimchi pork stew) between my father and me. The waiter approached us and informed us that there were no pork shumai. We then compromised and decided on the 2 servings of kimchi jigae. In Korea, moms back home wash kimchi to make it palatable for little kids due to the spiciness. The two kimchi jigaes presented to us tasted like the washed kimchi, and the red broth was VERY watered down. I have come to the conclusion that Korean restaurants in Florida are very out of touch with how Korean food is supposed to be prepared. i love coming here when i'm looking for authentic korean comfort food and homey vibes. it beats going to the more chaotic neighboring restaurants and having to smell like korean bbq after you leave. while you can still order kbbq meats here, you won't have to deal with the grilling and smoking if you're not up for it. there are so many delicious korean staple dishes, which this place offers. however, it's also a perfect place to try something new. i got a big bowl of galbi tang (short rib soup) for the first time, and it was one of the most comforting dishes i've ever had. it felt like a nice warm hug. the broth was light, so it actually felt healthy. the fall-off-the-bone short rib that came with it was spectacular. paired with a bowl of rice, this soup is chef's kiss. we also got the japchae noodles, which was a little light on the beef, but still tasted amazing. our order came with four banchan (side dishes): kimchi, veggies, egg pancake, and fish cake. our waiter was quick to bring us seconds when we devoured the first round. overall a very pleasant experience here! read more

What a find. I've been going for over a year. When I wanted Asian food I used to go to a Chinese take out in Lauderhill. Now I only do Manna. The food is delicious. I usually get the beef bulgogi. Who knew there was a little Koreatown here in SoFlo!! this place is in the same plaza with like three other korean restaurants and a korean grocery store, but decided to go to Manna for my korean fix. Overall, super quality, authentic, and service was great. For food, we ordered the hot stone bibimbap with beef, Japchae (glass noodles) and pork bulgogi, and I would probably order all three again if I came back. Make sure to add plenty of red sauce to the bibimbap for that extra spice. The glass noodles were stir fried with vegetables and beef and in a slight sweet soy sesame sauce- super tasty. The glass noodles are made from sweet potato and I love their chewy texture! Pork bulgogi was also super flavorful in a spicy sweet sauce. I believe all meals come with ban chan, which is all the side dishes- include kimchi! And if you run out you can always ask for extra. My girlfriend and I decided to try this restaurant tonight after checking reviews online. It had 4 stars on Yelp but a higher 4.7 rating on DoorDash, so we went with the DoorDash recommendation. We arrived at 8:55 PM, noting that the sign on the door stated they close at 10 PM. Not wanting to be "those customers" who arrive just before closing, we figured we were safe with plenty of time. When we walked in, one employee was chatting with someone in the kitchen, and we stood there for a few moments without being acknowledged. Finally, a young man called out from a distance, asking if we were dining in or taking out. I said dining in, and his reaction felt annoyed. As we walked toward him, he told us we could sit wherever we wanted, but when I chose a table, he seemed irritated and tried to guide us to another one. To avoid conflict, we went to the table he suggested. As we were about to sit down, he audibly sighed in frustration. At that point, I asked him what time they closed, and he said in 10-15 minutes. This was confusing since it was still well before the posted closing time. Feeling unwelcome based on his demeanor, we decided to leave to avoid any further issues. read more

We were here from out of town, visiting family for the holiday weekend. My uncle talks about how he drives from the Gulf side of Florida to come eat at Gabose once a month with my aunt. So, we decided to visit Gabose to eat a late Black Friday lunch to see for ourselves what the big deal was. Well, they were not open for lunch, and didn't have anything but a paper sign on the door...so we looked up another place that was close by. LUCK WAS IN OUR FAVOR THAT DAY- across the street was Manna. Lots of parking, in a strip mall was this place. We parked, went in and had a seat. I think there was a lot of spill over from people who were expecting to eat elsewhere. I ordered the spicy Korean BBQ chicken. Usually it is a little sweet when I order it here in Atlanta- but here it was straight up just the way I like it. HUGE portion, veggies also included on the hot plate, and cut into manageable pieces so you don't have to use a knife or gnaw through larger pieces. I will point out that they say there could be both breast and thigh meat...but that day it was all white meat. Also a bonus for me since it was the day after Thanksgiving. My parents ordered the dumpling and rice cake soup, and the spicy beef and noodle stew. We saw they had Ja Jiang Myun and decided to order that for the table and share it. The Ja Jiang noodles were definitely the highlight. Bouncy, with the right amount of chew to them. The sauce was not greasy (sometimes the chef will fry the soybean sauce in oil to "toast" the flavors...but this was not the case which I also liked). Plenty of sauce, so if you wanted to toss some rice in there and have some bonus Ja Jiang Bap----- definitely an option. We were all really pleased. The menu is large, has other food options like dim sum and some dishes that are not traditionally just Korean. So you can find something for everyone if you like. The banchon was tasty, fresh and a great accompaniment to our meals. By the time we finished and headed off to the airport we were totally stuffed. I took a business card and I will make sure that I'm back the next time I'm in town. What could have been a disappointing afternoon turned into a pleasant and delicious experience. Who could have asked for anything more? I will point out that yes, if you want traditional Korean flavors and that's all. This may not be your cup of tea. I don't know if I would eat her again. It's not the food, the food is excellent, it's the service, it's very much in need of some help. We started with the fried eggplant and some pan fried vegetable dumplings. The eggplant they altered it to make it vegan " left out the eggs". Oh was it good! The vegetable dumplings were not quite as good as the eggplant, but it was also very good. For dinner my wife got a vegetable bi a bop, she had them leave out the egg on that too. She said it was incredible. I had the spicy baby octopus for two. I ended up eating half and talking the other half for lunch on Monday. When I arrived, it was in the early afternoon so there wasn't anyone else in there. My server was super friendly and totally hospitable. 3/5 Galbi $24.95 was good, but the portion was really small compared to what I've seen in the past at other places. Definitely one of the best Korean restaurants that I've had in South Florida. I prefer the traditional bbq where you grill your food at the table but the flavors packed in each dish will keep me coming back. The least favorite thing we ordered were the manna wings. They were super tiny which is fine but the sauce was ok. They were good but I've had much better. Wings were nice and crispy and weren't dry so give it a try. Winners of the evening were the Kalbi beef, seafood pancake, and pork gyoza. All seasoned perfectly! Seafood pancake was packed with seafood and still maintained a slightly crispy exterior and the pork gyoza was so crispy. Kalbi beef was meaty (barely any fat) and perfectly sweet and salty. Our server was super attentive! We were the only table in the restaurant this Monday evening but he was great. This has to be my new favorite KBBQ spot in Lauderhill! There are tons of competitors in the area, even two doors down, but the reason why I like to come back to this spot is because you can't beat their flavor in bibimbap and Galbi short ribs. Those two entree dishes are my favorite when it comes to Korean cuisine and this place makes it so well. Along with the tasty side dishes, a classic staple in Korean meals, I think the most appetizing appetizer they have would be their steamed dumplings. Just so addicting. I could eat so many of them! Overall an appetizer and an entree usually costs me about $25-30. I like the fact that they focus on quality versus quantity. We started off with the kimchi jeon and it was delicious! It had a great ratio of batter to kimchi , and the kimchi flavor was just right. I got the jjajangmyun and thought it was solid. Discovered this after finding out my other favorite Korean restaurant had shut down. It's in a strip mall, so parking wasn't a problem. Didn't look too great from the outside, but when we walked in, it was ok. We were sat right away. Then, our drink orders were taken. We decided to order a traditional Korean pork dish, bulgogi, that we typically order at these restaurants. I was not too thrilled with it. The pork pieces were kind of fatty and chewy. They tasted like they weren't cooked all the way. I had one bite of it and I was done. Not what I'm used to. We also ordered the vegetable pancake which was delicious! It was a lot bigger than I thought it would be. It was the size of the dinner plate and loaded with different vegetables and fried into a light tempura batter. There was a good sauce served with it. We had the bbq chicken dish which had a very nice flavor. It was just a little over cooked and on the dry side. There were sides served that usually accompany Korean meals. There was pickled cabbage and cucumbers, bean sprouts, fish cake, and others. Service was ok. Once our food was brought, we didn't see the waiter again until my husband needed a drink and went to get him. If you're looking for Korean, give it a try. read more
