So I've been coming to Izziban for a couple years now, off and on. I love when they have Groupon deals & the food is always well seasoned and delicious. However through the years the service has been questionable. I took my family here yesterday and our waiter was not attentive at all. He didn't even offer us a drink menu, I had to hound him down just to get more meat & sushi and when he came to the table he seemed annoyed. This is our second time going. We actually like the place. It's usually easy to find a table without any reservations. I had a Groupon for Izziban Sushi Korean BBQ. Came in on a Tuesday and place was rather empty. Was seated right away. They have a cold bar and an area with all the sauces and seasonings for your BBQ meats. Plenty of a variety of meats from Bolgogi beef, pork belly, beef tongue, short ribs and even shrimp. The meats weren't top tier but the BBQ experience made it fun and was nice to cook our own meats. The sushi was ok wouldn't say it's the best one in town. I've been to this spot before and remembered having a better experience but that was two years ago. Which honestly is great so you can take your time at the bar with sauces and seasonings.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself is spacious. There's a lot of seating available. Not on the fancy side so it creates a laid back chill bbq experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So we opted for the Option A which brings a huge variety of meat from pork, red meat, chicken, squid and shrimp. You can also order sushi rolls which are included in the Option A. So once we ordered the meats and sushi we wanted to start off with, we went over the bar to make our concoction of spices and to get some of the cold items available. Service here is amazing and fast. Our guy had everything on the table by the time we got back. They also have a button on the wall of the table where you can call the waiter anytime you're in need for more food items. My favorite meat by far was the beef bulgogi. It is so flavorful you really do not have to add anything else on the beef! Only down side, all the sides are add-ons so keep in mind you will be paying extra if you want fried rice with your food. I had high expectations for this place but did leave slightly disappointed. For the price, you get a lot of food due to it being all you can eat. My friend and I got the option B. We started with the marinated short rib. This was fire!! However, the ribeye was tough even though I didn't cook it more than medium rare. I think it just wasn't a good cut. There was limited marbling if any in the cut. The pork belly was thin and fatty, so I liked that personally. The all you can eat salad bar and sauces was overwhelming. So many sauces to pick from. The salad bar wasn't fresh due to the place being pretty slow so who knows when they last changed it out. I got the crab rangoons as one of my apps and they were really good! Crispy and I liked the filling. Overall, I been to better Korean bbq spots. I just felt that the quality was not as good as others. I wouldn't go out of my way to go again. read more

My party and I arrived at the restaurant a few minutes before the posted opening time. The place was easy to find and parking was plentiful. I wasn't happy that the restaurant didn't open promptly at the advertised opening time of 12pm instead the doors opened 7 minutes late. Once inside we were greeted and seated promptly. The menu options were explained and service was quick. Out of several restaurants I've visited similar in style to this one, this is the only one that had such a vast array of seasonings and sauces to appeal to various pallets. The portions were plentiful and I love the fact that sushi is included. I found it pretty pricey but at least the food was excellent. TLDR: Best kbbq spot I've found in South Florida so far (coming from a LA Ktown native) Although this spot is a bit more expensive for the quality of meat compared to other cities like LA, the price is the best for South Florida. As an upgrade, you can get things like short rib and cow tongue- which are so hard to find! However, the cow tongue was sliced thicker than I'm used to (so it was pretty chewy). I love that they have a ban chan (side dishes) bar so you can get whatever you like. They also have Korean favorites like pancake and japchae. Ambiance: dark and casual. Came here multiple times before and had no complaints, and I came back after a long break -- very disappointed. $87 including the gratuity for two people, with practically zero service -- that's absolutely shameful. When I used to come more frequently, I got fantastic service. The grill was changed, so it wouldn't get dirty too quickly, and the waiters used to be much more attentive. This time nobody ever came to change the grill so it quickly became very dirty after just one serving of meat , the sides were not provided like they used to be, no knives or forks or chopsticks are provided, we have to go get them ourselves instead of like how it was before when they were provided to us when we sat down. The waiter did not even tell us that we could get sides or where to get the silverware. It's shameful that the prices have been increased while the service and quality of food have dropped sharply. I felt embarrassed having brought my friend here after this experience. Used to love this place, but I do not ever see myself coming here in the foreseeable future. We arrived for dinner early, around 5:30pm. It wasn't crowded and the service was very quick. The waiter explained how the grill and the menu worked very clearly. They have options A and B and everyone at the table has to order the same option. Option A includes several meats and sushi, sushi is limited to 2 flavor options per person only. Option B includes A and 5 more types of meat. We chose option A, $32.90 per person, which I thought was very expensive considering they don't have almost any vegetables available there. Plus, you can only choose 4 types of meat at first and then they bring more as you request. The meats were tender and very well seasoned and there are plenty of sauce options, but I was really disappointed with the lack of more vegetables and mushrooms. For sushi, we chose "Yummy Yummy", "crunch tuna" and "gold California", all very tasty. The space is spacious and apparently clean. There are also table options without the barbecue for those who choose just sushi! In general, the food is tasty but very expensive compared to other restaurants of the same style with more options of food. You need to pay attention to the bill because they already include the 18% tip automatically in the charge. read more
