Surf & Turf + Golden Potato Pizza
    Benson T.

Tried a Koreatown spot recently and ordered a half-and-half pizza: Surf & Turf on one side and Golden Potato on the other. The Surf & Turf was the clear winner for me -- savory, flavorful, and something I'd definitely get again. The Golden Potato leans sweet, which isn't really my palette since I'm not big on sweet pizzas, but if you like that flavor profile, it could be right up your alley. The venue was chill and not crowded at all for a Saturday, and the service was solid. Overall, a good experience with some unique pizza combinations worth trying.

This little hidden place is soo good. It's the most unique pizza I've ever had. Different flavoreds but also different flavored crust and stuffed crust.

Koreatown Pizza is such a fun and unexpected spot. I ordered the Kingsley pizza, which only comes in a large and is probably one of the most unique pizzas I've ever had. It comes topped with an entire blooming onion, and the crust is made with sweet potato, which makes for the perfect dipping experience once you finish the slice. The toppings are super generous, especially the meat and corn, and the pizza actually tastes just as good reheated. This place feels like a hidden gem during the day. There was no wait when I went, and the vibe is very casual. There's a bar inside, so I imagine it gets busier in the evenings. And best of all, there's a free parking lot in the back with no valet, which is a total win for KTown. If you're craving something a little different and love a good mashup of comfort food, this spot is worth checking out.

Bulgogi, sweet potato, melted mozzarella, Giant Bloomin Onion These are things I love all on their own. The crazy people at Koreatown Pizza Co. decided to dump it all on one pizza. Decadent af but this is worth the try! The hype delivered. Close to Purple line Metro, several buses and parking is decent on off hours.

Great beer on draft, good selection on bottle. Good seating selection available with multiple TVs that they are happy to change to your game. We had the Kingsley pizza, which included a blooming onion on top! Seems to be their signature pie and I see why! We absolutely devoured it! We sat at the bar and the service was ample and quick.

If you're in the pizza mood, stop by koreatown pizza. I went on a Saturday around 12:30pm and it was pretty empty. However, I can see this being a very popular dinner spot. For the parking, I was able to find street parking. After taking a look at the menu, and referencing the pizza boxes for the size, I decided to get a medium, golden bulgogi pizza. The ETA was about 25 minutes. There was a bar stool area where I sat and waited for the order. In terms of taste, I felt it tasted good and perfectly salty. The crust was crispy and had sweet potato stuffing, which made it taste sweet. The bell pepper was a good combination to the bulgogi. In a separate bag, there was pickles, extra cheese, and chili peppers. The pickle tasted sweet like relish. While I did enjoy the pizza, it seemed pretty pricy. Note: American Express is accepted.

I've tried the location in Buena Park and since I was in the neighborhood, I decided to try this location. This location is much larger and connected to a Ramada Hotel in the heart of KTown so there are many epic food choices. Happy to report that the food is consistently delicious and this time, I tried the kimchi fried rice and though it was flavorful, it didnt have much of a kimchi flavor.

Stoped in for dinner before a show. The place had a nice open layout and the staff were friendly. I love trying new things so the menu here was intriguing and made it hard for me to pick. I went with the golden potato pizza. It was like a delicious baked potato on a pizza. The cheese was extra gooey and the sweet potato crust was so unique. The best part is you really get your moneys worth here. The prices here are surprisingly lower than I would have expected. We will be back to try more pizzas here!

Not your average pizzas! The morning glory breakfast pizza with hashbrown crust was delicious. Initially thought it was a little on the expensive side but the pizza is pretty loaded with toppings.

We came on an off time so there was plenty of seating. We order a large golden potato pizza, which was so good! The cheese pull was amazing! Definitely recommend this place for Korean pizza!

I saw that they had sweet potato crust pizza and I just had to try it! I ordered online for pick up as a late night snack and it was quick! When I got there it was rather empty but kind of expected on a weekday night. I got the small golden potato pizza which is perfect for 2 people as a snack! I love the sweet potato crust! I've never had a pizza like this and it was not a disappointment! Their menu has a variety of items to order as well!! I would definitely try their other pizzas when I'm in LA!!

I have to knock a star off of my previous reviews because the wait times are worse than ever. Service is super slow when you sit down in the restaurant, but it's also slow when you order for pick up. Not once has my food ever been ready by the time they project when I place my orders. I've waited up to 25 more minutes for my order to be ready. We also ordered the chicken Alfredo pizza for the first time and it needed way more Alfredo sauce. I keep coming back because I love the pizza, but they are getting worse and worse with the wait times.

Cocktails are slightly limited as it is not a full bar, but they do have options. The frozen Spritz was very flavorful, more fruit forward and would be perfect in a hot day. The Nonna's Medicine had a nice complexity to it with the flavors peeking their heads out at different times through the process. For food we started with the crudo, mussels and grilled oysters. The crudo was very fresh and had a lot going on with it's simplicity. Just a great bite. The mussels were decent but really didn't stand out in any way. The grilled oysters, however, had flavor and texture, with a Parmesan crust on top and the oyster and juice underneath. Very good! For pizza, they are almost like little personal focaccia pizzas, cut into four slices. We tried the mushroom, pepperoni and white pizzas. The mushroom has a garlic cream sauce and herb mix with Parmesan. You definitely get the mushrooms, as they are ample, but they do not over power the pizza. Just a good blend of flavors in each bite. The white comes with Japanese potato, fennel, mozzarella and pesto. Another really great bite with the potatoes not overpowering everything else. Finally, the pepperoni with spicy honey. The spicy honey is more like spicy marinara honey sauce, but it works. Could have used more of that as it came on the side. The pizza itself, with mozzarella and pecorino tasted great. Maybe that focaccia is the move? Overall, De La Nonna did not disappoint. Everything was very nice, and sitting on the patio when the weather is perfect is always a move. I would say to skip the mussels but, everything else, give it a try!

In the same vein, we stuck with a similar style of food and ended up at Propaganda. There was little to no wait, which was pleasant. It was a nice day and we decided to eat outside. The focaccia bread and salad came out first, and both were good. I enjoyed the crispiness of the bread, though my only qualms were that the bread was quite oily and the butter and salt were just a tad bit too salty for my liking. The Insalata Mista salad was solid. Good flavor, good dressing-to-salad ratio, and a surprisingly good portion size. As far as pizza goes, the Margherita was good. Tasty, moist, and a nice crunch on the crust. I found it to be enjoyable, though I may have enjoyed more fresh basil on this. I did find it better than the Boscaiola. I got the black truffle honey add on, and it does not go well on this pizza in my opinion. There was virtually no taste of truffle to me, and more of just an aftertaste of oily sweet honey. This was a miss. It's hard to say whether the base pizza was good without it because the flavor profile was just too overpowered by the aftertaste. The Arts District is definitely coming up with new upscale dining establishments, and I'm there for it. I think this is a solid addition. Though this is a wine bar, I don't generally drink, so my review is based purely on the food. Results of their drinks, which is quite an extensive list, may be to your liking! They do have an inexpensive three wine flight, for reference!
