White Pizza and Classic Pepperoni IG: @ammysalamii

I love me a good white pizza and this was insanely perfect. The only way to eat this is fresh and there on the spot. Taking it home would probably not be as good from what I recall at another location. This is located on the outer part of the Little Tokyo plaza so there are some metered street parking but nearby are some affordable parking structures. We were waiting for our AZ friends to arrive from their drive so we decided to grab a little bite from here. I went for the white pizza slice and my bf got the classic pepperoni. They have seasoning and stuff by the utensils and I was VERY surprised to see garlic salt as an option!! Of course I had to sprinkle some on my already garlicky pizza but I kid you not, garlic salt on pizza is a game changer!! Absolute perfection and now I'll be putting it on my pizza every time. Lots of seating, great staff, delicious pizza! IG: @ammysalamii

Finally tried Prime Pizza! I've always driven by it when I'm in LA, and I always see people coming in and out or sitting outside eating. I've always told myself I needed to try it. When I walked in, I went straight to the register and saw they already had slices ready for grab-and-go. I went ahead and ordered two BBQ chicken slices because I was starving already! The staff member who assisted me was very friendly. He let me know about the drink options they have and said the Arnold Palmer option is actually made in-house, which was pretty cool, so I went ahead and ordered it! I got a number, and they said they would bring my food to the table, which is pretty cool because I didn't have to stand around and wait lol. The inside was pretty packed, so thank God for outside seating! Lol. I got my order, and the pizza slices are so big, thin, and perfectly foldable, with a crispy crust and great flavor! I love how balanced each ingredient was. Nothing overpowered anything. Can't wait to come back and try other options!

Didn't expect the prices for a slice to be so affordable in downtown, $5. There are larger sizes but this was all I needed. I had a Grandma slice which was very tasty and filling. Great service, quick and easy. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Cant wait to try more slices.

Staff is friendly. Pizza was good but no wow factor that others are talking about. Spicy Pepperoni -might be the only slice that I truly enjoyed and would reorder if I was already in the area. Pizza dough had just a slight bounce with a perfectly crisp bottom. Pepperonis curl up and hold just the right amount of grease. Pretty good but I don't think it's worth the hassle of driving out to Little Tokyo and fighting for parking. Sicilian -same type of pizza dough as the spicy pepperoni but it just wasn't all there, seemed like it was missing something.. Everything paired well but it was alright. Vodka -comes on a thin crust, flavor seemed like it was lacking. Thin crust was a little too soft for my liking. BBQ Chicken -comes on thin crust as well, it's what you expect it to taste like. But the thin crust wasn't doing it for me unfortunately.

Ordered a pepperoni and half jalapeno pie. Thin NY style pizza with a good crispy crust. Pie was huge 18" so big it didn't fit in our fridge!

We were exploring Little Tokyo and wanted a snack. This place was packed, which was an indication of good food, so we just decided to get something small to snack on. We ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza. Cashier was friendly and services were fast. We saw a lot of people ordered food to go/pick up. Our server warmed up our pizza and served us the pizza by bringing it to our table. However, the pizza looks sad. When I had my first bite, it tasted very dry. I wish that it had more tomato sauce or cheese in it. However, the pizza crust was very crispy that I like the texture. Two stars for the services and pizza crust. There are a few parking options in the area.

Great customer service from the moment I walked in. Fresh pizza by the slice with great options. Check it out

Prime Pizza is a great casual place to grab a quick bite. You can order whole pizzas or by the slice. I tried their vodka slice and it was great! Simple but done well. It holds it's shape and isn't floppy nor greasy. It has a crisp bottom and the basil flavor really comes through. I'm a pizza fanatic and I enjoyed this slice. It was around $5-$6. Lots of seating indoors and outdoors if you want to dine in. After paying for your pizza, staff will reheat the pizza and bring it to your table. They have a table where you can help yourself to water. Parking is street or I suggest parking at the 401 E 2nd st parking for $10 flat rate for the whole day if you want to explore Little Tokyo. The parking is right across and a quick 2 min walk to prime pizza. They accept card.

Square Pizza (1/2 Spicy Pepperoni and 1/2 Sicilian)

tl;dr this solid, all-around pizza chain combines quality, quantity, and convenience; the Detroit-ish Sicilian squares edge out the classic NY round varieties In the pizza debate, I begrudgingly lean more toward East Coast and Detroit styles than my native California. Nonetheless, Los Angeles has its fair share of solid slices. One of the most popular spots is Prime Pizza. This small, LA-area chain is on more "best of" lists than it has Greater LA locations (which is saying something, because there is a Prime in nearly every LA neighborhood). Since debuting in 2014, the focus has been on New York-style slices, although the more recently introduced square pies might be even better. Unlike many other oft-lauded pizzerias, Prime offers 'zza by the slice, as well as a delivery service with a catchment area that spans nearly all of LA. My nearest outpost is in Little Tokyo, which shares the ground floor of an apartment complex with a FedEx and a Dave's Hot Chicken. You can't miss the firetruck-red signage and stainless steel patio furniture outside. The interior is surprisingly spacious for a takeout-centric spot. The counter on the left side of the entrance is stacked with folded pizza boxes, while the one on the right has plastic utensils and pizza fixings. The whitewashed walls are lined with shiplap trim and heavily decorated with Prime merch, pizza and sports memorabilia, and flat-screen TVs. Darkwood tables are scattered across the space, paired with black metal chairs and a half-booth. The slice display straight back is impressively stocked with many of Prime's most popular circle and square varieties. The air is sweltering in the summer heat, despite the portable air conditioner. I visited with my parents, and we opted to share a whole square pie (half Spicy Pepperoni, half Sicilian), a round White Pizza slice, and a Chopped Salad. (We also received a free Chocolate Chip Cookie as a promotional deal.) The square pie took my favorite aspects of Sicilian-style and Detroit-style, boasting a thin crust with cheese all the way to the crisp edges. On the Spicy Pepperoni half, I loved the plentiful crispy pepperoni and savory Calabrian chili oil, although I found the red sauce to be a tad sweet. Meanwhile, the Sicilian half sported a delicious drizzle of pesto, even if the remaining components were somewhat muted -- this style was enhanced by the dill-y Homemade Ranch and pleasantly funky Blue Cheese dressing. Our lone NY-style white slice was rich and impressively garlicky; even though it was reheated, its thin crust was neither soggy nor overcooked. I found the salad forgettable, but my mom appreciated the ample non-lettuce ingredients and the tangy Italian dressing. The ultra-thin cookie was impressively soft and chewy, but the flavor was more oatmeal-y than standard chocolate chip. The service was efficient and friendly in our limited interaction. The total worked out to $60, and we had several slices for leftovers. The non-pizza dishes were underwhelming, but the pizza (both round and square) was satisfying. Prime isn't the absolute best pizza in Los Angeles, but it touts an eviable combination of solid slices, reasonable prices, easy ordering, multiple locations, and reliable hours. I envision myself as both a future dine-in patron and takeout customer at Prime, depending on the occasion. Needless to say, I will be a repeat customer.

Still the best gluten free pizza around. When you order it's always made fresh and comes with 4 large slices.

Cute spot in little Tokyo, nice to walk around and good amount of seating. We got pizza and knots which were nicely crunchy and tasty. The service was pretty quick and there were a decent amount of other patrons in the shop at the time too. I would return.

I have to say they really do some poverty portions on that actual chicken. I'm not sure what the deal is with that. It's a $30 pizza. Why are we being conservative with the ingredients?

Cool, casual pizza joint. Buy by the slice or the entire pie! Service was quick and all was hot and freshly made. Nice staff too, the young man at the counter was more than happy to bring our food to our tiny 2 person table. Bathroom was as clean as any joint might be in such a busy hot spot like little Tokyo. I ordered the cheese pizza slices and a Cesar salad and finishing with some lemon pepper wings(hot, fresh and juicy too). Serving sizes were the best part about Prime Pizza, they don't skimp out and the salad was a nice portion too.

Cocktails are slightly limited as it is not a full bar, but they do have options. The frozen Spritz was very flavorful, more fruit forward and would be perfect in a hot day. The Nonna's Medicine had a nice complexity to it with the flavors peeking their heads out at different times through the process. For food we started with the crudo, mussels and grilled oysters. The crudo was very fresh and had a lot going on with it's simplicity. Just a great bite. The mussels were decent but really didn't stand out in any way. The grilled oysters, however, had flavor and texture, with a Parmesan crust on top and the oyster and juice underneath. Very good! For pizza, they are almost like little personal focaccia pizzas, cut into four slices. We tried the mushroom, pepperoni and white pizzas. The mushroom has a garlic cream sauce and herb mix with Parmesan. You definitely get the mushrooms, as they are ample, but they do not over power the pizza. Just a good blend of flavors in each bite. The white comes with Japanese potato, fennel, mozzarella and pesto. Another really great bite with the potatoes not overpowering everything else. Finally, the pepperoni with spicy honey. The spicy honey is more like spicy marinara honey sauce, but it works. Could have used more of that as it came on the side. The pizza itself, with mozzarella and pecorino tasted great. Maybe that focaccia is the move? Overall, De La Nonna did not disappoint. Everything was very nice, and sitting on the patio when the weather is perfect is always a move. I would say to skip the mussels but, everything else, give it a try!

Initially we were going to…read moretry De La Nonna, but they were closed for a special event and we didn't know when we showed up. In the same vein, we stuck with a similar style of food and ended up at Propaganda. There was little to no wait, which was pleasant. It was a nice day and we decided to eat outside. The focaccia bread and salad came out first, and both were good. I enjoyed the crispiness of the bread, though my only qualms were that the bread was quite oily and the butter and salt were just a tad bit too salty for my liking. The Insalata Mista salad was solid. Good flavor, good dressing-to-salad ratio, and a surprisingly good portion size. As far as pizza goes, the Margherita was good. Tasty, moist, and a nice crunch on the crust. I found it to be enjoyable, though I may have enjoyed more fresh basil on this. I did find it better than the Boscaiola. I got the black truffle honey add on, and it does not go well on this pizza in my opinion. There was virtually no taste of truffle to me, and more of just an aftertaste of oily sweet honey. This was a miss. It's hard to say whether the base pizza was good without it because the flavor profile was just too overpowered by the aftertaste. The Arts District is definitely coming up with new upscale dining establishments, and I'm there for it. I think this is a solid addition. Though this is a wine bar, I don't generally drink, so my review is based purely on the food. Results of their drinks, which is quite an extensive list, may be to your liking! Nice name, but when I see menus of any cuisine that go out of their way to offer vegan and gluten free versions of everything, it tends to put me off. I know that's an unfair prejudice, but I always assume it's more of a healthy food place for people who complain about regular food than a real tasty joint. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. Now that I've tried their fantastic pizza, my only sadness is that they are located in DTLA, where finding parking even to run in and pick up things to go is always difficult. So, we were here at first not for the food but because my teen son's death metal band, Institutionalized, was playing a show with the very popular super cool local metal band Diabology. But, hey, if you're there might as well grab something before you leave, right? So We got a cheese pie, which was excellent. Also tried a slice of their white pie, which was garlicky goodness. What really sold us, though, was the Sicilian pie we got. As born and bred New Yorker transplants who have been here a long time, we have never found a fantastic Sicilian. Good, sure, but never great. The pies are never thick enough as far as the breading. Here it was as close as we've ever got. And like the other pizza, the taste was excellent. And, as native New Yorkers, we know our pizza! Strongly recommended! Can't wait to get another Sicilian pie in the near future with some toppings.

The customer service was amazing and the cashier who helped me, Melissa, was so apologetic and sweet (obviously wasn't her fault), but this is just another warning to anyone who is vegan and considers coming here. I also came when they were about to close and already had to wait like 15min longer than they said so there's not even anything else open this late for me to find other food. Very disappointing and I will not be coming back for good this time. If I could give separate stars for customer service, I would give them 5 stars but this was unacceptable on the cook's part. Do not risk it if you are vegan.
