A not bad option in the area for Korean food. They have nice bento boxes and good bulgogi.

Stopped here while going up the 476. It's about a five minute drive from the highway, but we thought it was definitely worth it. We were quickly seated, and there was only one other party there. Our server was very patient with us and checked on us a few times since we were split on what to get. We decided to start with the fried Mandu and the LA Galbi to split since our server said it was a portion for one person. It was definitely enough for the two of us! Food came out super fast, everything was juicy, fresh, and delicious. The Galbi portion was generous and worth the 30$ price tag. Side dishes were also delicious, and we got complimentary watermelon at the end of our meal (also delicious). We are jealous of the nearby residents because they live so close to this place. OMG! My dad and I came here for a traditional Korean dinner and this was absolutely delicious. The staff was super friendly. The restaurant feels like you're in a Korean kitchen / living room being hosted by a family proud of their authentic food. We ordered the black bean noodle dish and a hot stone fried rice dish that has soooo many delicious vegetables and a fried egg on it. It was SO good. The rice was crispy and it all mixed up so well. Oh they're just the best! I've visited Kori multiple times and I always get the same thing. Black bean noodles & a BIG jar of Kimchi. Their noodles are absolutely incredible and I crave them so often. They do not skimp out on the portion! I've tried Kimchi from so many other restaurants and grocery stores, but Kori does it the best. Their Kimchi is delicious and I wish I lived closer because I run out of it so quickly! Once it's in my fridge, it's all I can think about. The restaurant is spacious and super clean! The staff is just so sweet and warm--they make you feel super welcomed. One time, I ordered take-out and rather than having me step outside, they sat me down and gave me a cup of tea as I waited. Such a sweet gesture!! I will always go back to Kori and I hope more people try it out because it's a 10/10. read more

It's said looks can be deceiving. I have passed by Kori many dozens of times, never stopping until tonight. It is located in a plain old-style American diner building that has seen several other restaurants come and go over the years. The inside is neat, home-spun, not fancy yet comfortable. My server was friendly and helpful, taking time to ask what I liked and then making recommendations that hit the mark. My appetizer, Seafood and Green Onion Pancake, could be a meal to some. Served like a sliced round pizza with a crispy crust, topped with vegetables and a plethora of seafood, and a red sesame sauce, it was delicious. My entree, Seasoned BBQ Eel with Rice, was served in a stone pot so piping hot the rice had formed a crispy crust similar to the socarrat crust under a Paella. On top, strips of tender cooked eel surrounded by an assortment of cooked vegetables, topped with Bibimbap sauce. Oh, and of course as is the Korean custom I was served assorted complimentary pickled and marinated side dishes. I will not pass by Kori again. I will be back, hopefully with neighbors who should discover the place they have probably passed by, too. I hear the beef short ribs are special. read more

I'm Korean, so I definitely know Korean food... and this place does it well! The owners are super friendly and the food is delicious! I appreciate that even though we ordered takeout, our meal still came with side dishes (banchan), including miso soup and kimchi. I like Kori because they not only have Korean food, but also Japanese (sushi) and Chinese (well, Korean/Chinese fusion dishes like tangsuyuk and fried rice). We ordered fried dumplings (mandu), tangsuyuk (crispy fried sweet & sour pork), galbi, bulgogi, shrimp fried rice, and sushi (unagi/eel, hamachi yellowtail, salmon, and spicy tuna dragon roll). I really enjoyed the sushi, but the Korean food is where this place shines. It's important to note that the restaurant is BYOB and they have a surcharge for credit card use, so bring alcohol and cash! I highly recommend Kori! To note: they also serve breakfast! read more

We've been here multiple times! The menu is not as large as other Korean places but they have the favorites. We enjoy the scallion pancake, it has a lot of seafood besides the scallion and it's nice and crispy. They don't have true bbq grills like others. They bring out a hot plate and grill pan. I don't really like cooking at the table, so I don't mind if they cook the bbq in the kitchen. Especially since we have our toddler with us at the table. They give us each our own banchan dish (in the picture it is the 3 little dishes in the vertical plate. We recently ordered the galbi and pork belly. Galbi is very tender and flavorful. They also serve breakfast! The menu is very limited compared to diners but they have the standard fare. The French toast is very good! The people who are there Sunday mornings always greet us and make me daughter her own pancake/French toast for free. They are very nice. Note, the woman who takes our order also cooks the food, so the food does take a little longer to come out but you know it's cooked to order. I was in the area for a conference, and this was a nice find. Though I grew up in the Philly suburbs, I live in LA, which has hands-down the best Korean food in the country. This is probably not quite pitching consistently at the level of the best of LA, but it's still very legit and very good. I opted for bibimbap (with beef), which came out sizzling hot with a trio of banchan (and they also provided me with tea and a cup of clear soup with tofu and other goodies in it). The bibimbap needed quite a bit of gochujang to hit the right flavor point for me, but once it did, while it wasn't the best iteration of the dish I've ever had, it was still a good one. Further, the banchan were all on point, and the soup was delicious. At the end of the meal, the delightful owner offered me a cup of a cold, rice-based drink with a lovely air of cinnamon about it--this was a fabulous and refreshing surprise. Atmosphere is pleasant and comfortable, service was very kind and prices are fair. I'd give it four out of five on food, with a bump to five for the welcoming environment. read more

After interning at Merck for a couple of weeks, I kept driving past this Korean restaurant that looked really good!! I was asking around if anyone wanted to go, and finally got someone to try it out with me! We went in and the interior decor was super nice, and the staff was super friendly! The menu is expansive, so there is definitely something for everyone when you're there! I ended up going with the Spicy Stir-Fried Squid over rice, and my friend went with the Katsu Don. What we didn't expect, was the additional ban Chan and miso soup that came with both of the entrees (and apparently you can ask for refills on the ban Chan!). Everything tasted super authentic and came out very quickly! We also ordered a spicy salmon roll that isn't pictured, but it was also pretty good! Wow. So glad we stumbled upon this place the other day, we made a mental note to add it to the list of places to try. Well tonight was that night. It was late on a Sunday night and even with that being the case we were warmly greeted. They have dividers up between the tables which makes your dining experience feel more private. Great menu, many many options. My wife order sushi as an appetizer and she said it was really really fresh. I tried "mom's" dumplings, our server Michelle said her mom was in the kitchen. I was able to order a Bento box with Beef Bulgogi and it was really good. After dinner we got to meet "mom", she was very nice and you could see the family resemblance. It was towards the end of the night and she stayed for a few minutes to talk with us and ask how everything was. Side note - they serve American breakfast Tuesday-Sunday 7AM-11AM. Came in for lunch with gf's on Black Friday. Lucked out with ordering from the lunch special and it was a good amount of food. I had the beef hot stone rice bowl. Added an egg. Pretty tasty. I only ate the kimchi side as the other sides weren't that appetizing to me. I think two of the sides had zucchini. I've had better Korean sides with my meals elsewhere. read more

*MEDIOCRE* 3.5/5 Stars Kori is a relatively new Korean restaurant that opened last year and I stumbled upon it coincidentally on my way to a friend's house. The place was large and they separated the tables with panel folding screens. It's definitely more of a traditional casual setting and they even serve barley tea. The staff was very nice and even gave us extra noodles for the pot we ordered. The food itself was decent and in pretty big portions. However, I've definitely had better Korean food elsewhere. *DINNER* Cold Noodle - large portion with good noodle to meat ratio. I think the noodles were cooked a bit too long, it had that mushy texture. It was flavorful, you can definitely taste the sweetness in the bulgogi Spicy Bulgogi(Beef) & Squid Casserole - It says its for 2 but it can definitely feed 3-4. I love that it came was a piece of octopus that they cut for you on the spot. They were really generous with the amount of bulgogi and even gave us extra udon noodles later on. However, the soup tasted like the bulgogi marinade in a soup form, and a bit too sweet to my liking. *VERDICT* I would come back if I was in the area or if someone else want me to come. Oh no... what happened? When this place first opened up, I was really glad to have another Korean restaurant to choose from in the area. This place is right up the street from me so it was a great place to quickly pick up food whenever I didn't feel like cooking or after a long trip and not being able to have solid Korean food. I've never minded the 4% fee for not paying cash because the food was solid, but this last trip really made me regret my decision of ordering. Ordered spicy pork and shrimp teriyaki (only because their noodle soup kalguksu was no longer available) and I can honestly say this was not what I expected. The spicy pork felt like it was cooked by someone who never had Korean food before and was quickly told what it should be. Felt like I was eating a poor version of Szechuan double cooked pork. While I love a good double cooked pork, that's not what I ordered. The shrimp teriyaki was a watery mess. Both dishes had a very odd vinegary undertone you wouldn't normally find in these dishes. From what I can tell, there may have been a different chef from my past experiences and I was genuinely let down and disappointed as this was such a great place to get some great Korean food. May have to rethink that move going forward. I hate writing bad reviews, but this was quite jarring. read more

Fantastic find! Rarely do you unexpectedly find such a place as this with delicious cuisine and such charismatic staff. Two high school buddies and I needed a spot that was centrally located, and Kori fit the bill geographically.
