I've been craving for tteokbokki since my last visit to Pal Park, NJ. I decided to visit Koja for the first time and give it a chance... um yeah, I don't think I'll be returning. I only ordered the tteokbokki and asked if I could modify it by adding beef briskets (I even offered to pay extra). The waitress and the manager declined and brought out the tteokbokki. I was disappointed. I understand it's an appetizer, but I did not expect the portion to be that tiny compared to the ones I've had in Pal Park. There was more sauce than the rice cakes and fish cakes. The gochujang sauce came out very watery, and the rice cakes were old. I'm not even Korean, but I hate to say that the tteokbokki I made at home was a lot better than this.

    The sushi was very small

This was our first time at Koja. Over all is was good. I wish they had more options. We bought the original fried chicken because there was no other options. And when we asked for sauce in the side they wouldn't give it to us because they said "they would run out of sauce later" Weird!!! You should have sides for sale. Best Deok Bok Ki ever! I'll be back for that alone. Skip the sushi - it's VERY small, over priced, and the wasabi is old and odd. The waitress was very nice. And also we were the ONLY people in the place.

I would not highly recommend to anyone who eats a lot of Asian cuisine. My photos were heavily filtered so it looks better than it tasted. The stone bi bim bap didnt taste like anything. It was plain, the vegetables had no distinguishing texture or taste, and there was little beef for the price. I added the red bimbap sauce but it couldn't save the flavor. I gave this a 4 stars because the SoonDubu (Tofu stew) was decent and the babchan (side) were good. Disclaimer: The restaurant is a lot darker than the pic. Service by the Korean Lady was awkward.

We celebrated our daughter's 11th birthday here. From start to finish, it was an amazing meal! We were a large group and ordered bbq and had kimchi pancakes for our appetizers. The meat was fresh and delicious. The variety of banchan was great. The kimchi soup that came with the bbq was the BEST that I have ever had! They brought our daughter fried ice cream with pocky for her birthday. She shared with all of us. It was so good! I need to give a special shout-out to our server. If I remember correctly, she is the daughter of the owners. She was attentive, friendly and quick. She really is one of the best servers I have ever encountered in any restaurant. Stellar service!

Vegetarian menu. BEWARE: all soup/broth/brown sauce dishes are made with fish sauce

The majority of the menu (meat dishes) might deserve more stars. As a vegetarian, I can't give this place more stars. As a preface, I don't mind not going to places because they don't have vegetarian food or only being able to order 1 or 2 things off the menu. My issue with this place is that there is an entire page of vegetarian options, but upon questioning, more than half the food on that menu has fish sauce. I very much appreciate my server finding out for me when I asked about the kimchi and then proceeding to find out what other dishes on the vegetarian menu have fish sauce. I was disappointed, since my only options were then 3 things: bibimbap, fried rice, and tofu teriyaki. The miso soup served with these rice dishes was also made with fish sauce. I ended up getting the bibimbap, which was a little bland (only came with a bibimbap sauce that I had to add a LOT of to have some flavor in my dish). There were a few (supposedly) vegetarian appetizers. I got the tofu teriyaki, which was decent but not similar to what I have ever gotten at any other restaurant. I would give a place with food like this 1 or 2 more stars normally, but I cannot give 2-3 stars to a place that serves food with fish sauce and labels it vegetarian. That would be pescatarian but definitely not vegetarian. I would not recommend this place for vegetarians until the menu gets fixed and becomes more clear. I do appreciate the waitress who helped me out with this. However, if I had not asked, I would have consumed fish, which is completely unacceptable. It was relatively empty when I went, but the service was pretty slow.

Love their kimchi jigae and kimchi pancakes. Great vegetarian selection and reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Always stop in when I'm on this side of town.

I wish I lived close, love korean food. The ambiance is kinda 50s diner/ korean bbq, a little dated but familiar. Service was fast and courteous. The food is fresh and hot! Spicy is the word. Can't wait to go back and try new dishes.

Absolutely thrilled to have found this hidden gem!! Place is unassuming and you're there for the food !! Parking is ample located at a busy intersection. Call ahead to reserve a BBQ table just to make sure you can get one as they're limited . Menu is precise and easy to order from ! Great variety of all dishes / noodles / rice / fresh veggies & vegetarian options!! Prices are reasonable and portions are great! Will be making this a regular addition to our food finds here in Lehigh Valley!!! Left feeling full and HAPPY!!!

Overall an underwhelming experience. The restaurant is a converted diner. The waitress was pretty awkward. The sushi was good. The only thing was it was cut very oddly - some jagged and at different angles. The banchan (side dishes) is self serve with. Everything was fine but the kimchi was very salty. It didn't have that tang that usually comes with its fermentation. Which was a let down since it's usually my favorite banchan. And since it was the main ingredient in my kimchi jjigae (soup) it made it very salty. The bulgogi was cooked well but wasn't as juicy and others I've had. The flavor was also on the sweeter side. The restaurant week special was a good deal. If I was to go back I'd probably stick with bulgogi or bibimbab.

Sushi roll with shrimp, tuna and such...ask Ash what it is. Lol

Food was very underwhelming. Not worth the price. Drive the extra hour to Philly for Dubu if you want real Korean food.

She got their chicken teriyaki and it was obvious that this was better and fresher than any version of the dish she had. My girlfriend loved it. The chicken was tender and the vegetables were crisp. I ordered the sashimi dinner and it was some of the best sashimi I've had in quite a while. Great, fresh cuts with excellent flavors. I was beyond satisfied. The odd thing: My miso soup had way too much sodium but my girlfriend's was perfect. I'm not sure how that could even happen. The servers were kind and helpful, but they seemed to be a bit overworked and didn't check in as expected. The atmosphere can be improved. It felt like they had moved into an older restaurant and kept the tables and chairs without upgrading anything. Regardless, we cannot wait to return and try other dishes.

I don't want to show any pictures of this place, I don't want anyone loss appetite. AYCE menu? Totally not all you can eat, charge $30 per person, but ACYE menu are small and not much options to choose, forcing customers empty all single dish, sashimi came out like split half off of cuts in regular piece, and cut into thin slices as much as they can, meat qualities are sucks, they gave shits to people eat for the AYCE menu, I was wondering if the owner refused to let customers order more of sashimi, it can limit them and shows on menu underneath or raise up the price, or stop playing AYCE. Veggies salad tasted awful, don't understand why the home made sauce is way too sweet. Tastes so weird. Do they know how to make sauce? If not, please use the regular Caesar or ranch dressing to be good. Also the servers, cooks and sushi chefs will automatically cut off what you orders of amount on menu, they ain't mention to customers why or which items they ain't do it yet, they think customers are like donkeys, it was too tired to keep asking them what it missing and ain't came out yet. Ended up they automatically charged gratuities without notification. Even I know auto grats will charged on big parties, but still as a server or manager they can notify people came sit down before decided order AYCE or menu's, I don't mind to tips, and I do tips for real, also we tipped sushi chefs in separately, but all entire times there we no one is enjoyable, this place sucks, totally not recommended, and never return it back for sure.

I think they primarily do takeout, at least at that time of day. We got a seat in the dining room area. One of the first things that I noticed was that the table we were at was a bit wobbly. If you put your foot on parts of the base, it would shake. Not ideal. It also took a little bit of time to order. We got our menus almost immediately after being seated, but it took maybe 20 minutes to place our food orders. I got the Philadelphia roll and sashimi with tuna and salmon. The Philadelphia roll was actually very big and filling. Quite good. The sashimi was also good - it was just the fish and not the rice (nigiri), which I wish they noted on the menu. One of the employees kids were running around in the restaurant, but it was a Saturday night and I imagine they needed to watch the kids, so I was not upset. Once we were done waiting, we checked out at the front. They had bowl of Halloween candy, as the holiday had just passed, which was nice. Altogether, Hana Sushi & Teppanyaki is a casual restaurant that is nice to get some good sushi at.
