On August 5, 2024 at 10:00 AM CET (Europe Time Zone) we checked into the Hotel Grand De Ville in…read moreSorrento, Italy. Our stay was to be from August 5 - August 9. This hotel had been part of the package deal that was chosen for us by the billing party, See Italy. Upon checking in we immediately noticed many unsanitary and disturbing findings in our hotel room. There was pubic hair on the bed sheets and in the tub. There was feces and toilet paper left without flushing in the toilet and the room smelled of mold and humidity. We have pictures and video evidence of all of this included in the email. We immediately went to the front desk to voice our complaints and were told that we had to contact SeeItaly as they were the booking party for our reservation. My first phone call went out to the SeeItaly local line where I spoke to Ludovica, that assured me that our issue would be looked into and that our booking agent Martina would get back to us with a solution. We decided to wait in the lobby to see what the response was, we had let SeeItaly know that the room was uninhabitable and that we were looking to get out of the hotel and not waste any of our vacation time. After 2 hours Ludovica texted me and said that they had called the hotel and that there were no other rooms to put us in she reiterated that her colleague, Martina would be reaching out to us to further to give us a update and expedite our request. Another 2 hours go by and nothing from Martina, another phone call is made and no answer from anyone in SeeItaly. I then receive a Text stating that Martina works in the United States ( California )and cannot help us or contact us until 6:00 pm which would have been passed midnight. It is now 310 Pm CET and we have lost a whole day of our vacation in Sorrento waiting on SeeItaly to contact us, again, no one can help expect Martina that works in the United States and does not get in until 6 pm. Until this day we have never spoken to anyone from SeeItaly on the phone , only the initial call from us towards Ludovica stating they could not to anything for us locally. On August 8 Martina, our "US Travel Agent" finally reached out via email (attached) to let us know we were incorrect, it took 4 days for her to reach out and not even a phone call. I have also included the text messages between Ludovica and I explaining that we would not be staying there, putting pressure on them to get back to us, and also letting them know that we were waiting fro them. It is now 5:00 CET (Europe Time Zone) and we cannot wait any longer, we feel that SeeItaly is acting in a unprofessional manner and waiting until their local offices close to leave us with no options but staying at the Hotel Del Ville, which we had explained multiple times that staying there was no longer an option. I decide to take a course of action on my own, fearing for the safety and well-being of me and my loved ones, having no where to stay, we make a decision in this case. We could not wait in the lobby any longer, we check out of the room to make it clear that we never used it (Attached receipt) and go to American Express travel and see what other hotels are available to book throughout our stay in Sorrento. We see that hotel Grand Hotel Excelsior is available and we immediately take a cab to go and go see if they have availability, they do. We end up booking our stay there and the rest of the vacation goes off without any sort of problems or issues. Finally, I asked SeeItaly for a breakdown of my trip costs. My trip was $15,900 for a one week stay in Italy, plus an additional $4,225.76 that I had to incur on my AMEX for the hotel Grand Hotel Excelsior to making sure my family was safe and had somewhere to spend the night and the week. I asked SeeItaly on multiple occasions to please provide me a breakdown of my charges for the trip, the request was denied and dismissed and never produced. SeeItalys's genuine lack of caring for their guests safety and their horrible customer service is extremely concerning.
