I took my vehicle in for AC service. I was told it was $90 to replace the AC belt, which I already had purchased. Over the phone she quoted me another price, and asked me sarcastically"do you want to make sure it actually works if not we can suck the freon out and you could just put your own in" And she asked me if I wanted to make sure it was working. I said yes. I was presented with the bill for a reasonable amount, a little over $300. It worked for a while and then started blowing hot air. It states on the receipt that if that happened to bring it back right away! I tried to schedule an appointment and she told me that she wasn't going to do anything for free, not even look at it without a service fee. I explained to her that it was paid for and the service rendered did not hold up. It clearly states on the receipt to bring it back with an explanation mark ‼ she told me she wasn't going to do anything for free and that the vehicle looked at will generate a charge. I explained to her this was a service I paid for it and it did not work properly. But I was told that I would have to pay for anything over and above what I already paid to have it fixed, and it won't even be looked at without charging just to look at it! Then! She hung up on me. She is snippy and she's rude. Very unprofessional in my opinion and not to mention, I borrowed a book from their waiting area. I asked for permission, she gave it to me reluctantly. I told her I would bring it back when I picked up the car which is exactly what I did. She went as far as to call the local author, as soon as I left and told him I stole the book did I get a apology call when she found out I had returned it upon pickup of my vehicle? No, she took all that time to call the author and say I took her book when she gave me permission in advance- because I asked. My recommendation would be to ask all these questions in advance, with Kosrow that is. I've been in the car business since I was 16 and now I'm 60. I've never! Had anybody service my vehicles and not guarantee their work. I've always been able to bring it back when needed and they didn't charge me anything, even just to look at it, and they also have a receptionist that was rude and rubbing the customer wrong after the fact. Again I try to take my vehicle back as it states to do so on the receipt to no avail. Buyer beware! read more

I have enjoyed knowledgeable service and fair pricing from Kosrow over the years and can recommend them for this. So I was surprised to walk into the waiting room and find an amateur painting of Trump being interviewed by a gaggle of clowns--a proclamation of the business's politics. This made me wonder whether having the "wrong" make of car, the "wrong" bumper sticker, or the "wrong" air freshener hanging off my rearview mirror might get me "profiled" as a Democrat and affect the level of service I get. My father was exiled from his country after takeover by a brutal dictator, and he could never go home again. It's a place where exercising your right to free speech can mean death. So, seeing this painting mocking the free press and gloating over a man who literally proclaimed himself an American dictator on day 1 brought all that sorrow back. All I wanted to do was pick up my car. And I'd been having such a nice day. I also run a small business and work with many clients whose views I do not share. I don't bring that up. It's the professional and courteous way to do business. Now people who don't share the Kosrows' affection for the current leadership will feel unwelcome and unsure of how the business will treat half of their customers. They may as well post a "No Irish" sign on their door. read more

Heard very good things about this business. Called them to make an appointment, they were a week out. Not a problem, good repair shops are usually quite busy. The receptionist took all my information and we set up the appointment. All went well, the repair was done quickly when it was my turn and the price was not cheap, but was fair. The only issue I had was I wanted to have AAA tow my vehicle in a few days prior to my appointment, but they literally have 100 vehicles in their lot for some reason and was told I couldn't because there was no room. An honest repair shop that you can trust with both your automobile and your wallet. Ive been burned by repair shops in the past which left me feeling very suspicious and unable to trust mechanics at all. After 15+ years with Kosrow that's no longer the case, I just dropped an SUV off that I purchased at auction yesterday and said call me when it's ready. Its a huge relief knowing my vehicle is with someone I trust will do a good and thorough job, only fix what's needed, buy the right replacement parts as needed and wont over charge, or look for ways to run up the bill on me. read more

I took my van in just to see when and how much for new starter in my van..they went out to vehicle with me, quoted me, and said they could have it done in a few hrs for so much! This shop is amazing! It was done promptly, properly and with complete proffesional treatment! They offered to pick me up if I couldn't get ride back to shop! I went in to pay and it was exact to the quote! I take my car here because they do a great job for a reasonable price. I drive an older car and recently my check engine light was on and it wouldn't pass DEQ. My catalytic converter was out and it was going to cost $630. Randy had one built and put in for $375. I've had other good experiences here as well. read more

Kris the receptionist was very rude and short from the very beginning of our phone conversation. I was recommended to Kosrow from my normal mechanic because my mechanic does not have a volvo mechanic but Kosrow does. I appreciated his honesty. They used the excuse that because my mechanic did not want to look at it then they do not want to look at it either. This is not true. My mechanic sent me here because they do have a European mechanic on staff. My check engine light is on. all then need to do is run the codes and see if they can fix it or not but did not want to even do that. I will take my business elsewhere and NEVER recommend KOSROW to anyone. Not to mention, Kris told me that she got my message that I left but decided to not even call back. I took my Toyota in for a some minor upkeep recently. The local Toyota dealership had quoted over $300 for the repairs that Randy did for $165.. Absolutely trustworthy! My family has been going here for something like 20 years. They have worked on our cars and yes, there has been a mistake or two on their part like any mechanic but they have ALWAYS taken care of it without costing us anything. Horrible horrible place to take any car took me for 1000 dollars and my car was undrivable , when I took it there it was running good just needed o2 sensor, and small coolant leaked fixed had to have it towed to York automotive who fixed it right away no problems, not a good mechanic don't go here ever read more

I relocated from Florida and came to a place where I knew no one. Someone recommended Kosrow Automotive and I found a family here. They took care of my car like it was their own, never mind that the car was old. I would call them when I heard strange noises from my car and I would have Randy calm me down and talk me through what I needed to do to get home. Recently, my gears wouldn't shift and I called again. Kris, like Randy, calmed me down and showed me what to do. She asked that I call AAA, which I hadn't thought about because of my anxiety. For people who don't look like me and sound like me, it sure feels like we transcended all barriers and connected on basic humanity level. Customer service is what really made my decision to no longer do business with Kosrow motors in Boring. I took my car until March and spent over $600 on a serpentine belt and new alternator. My car still runs great for that that was replaced, however when I brought it in my air conditioner was one of the few things that was working. I brought that to the attention of mr. Kosrow and told him it blows cold air great, however we can't figure out what the squeaking noise was. So he replaced the alternator. Sweet nice gone. A few weeks after that I got warm enough that I need to use my air conditioner, and it blew nothing but hot air. So we checked the Freon levels to make sure they were full, but still no ac. I called back and spoke to the secretary, whom is also mr. Kosrow wife. She told me it would be a few weeks possibly out before they could take a look at it because they are already scheduling air conditioner repairs. Being a single parent I can't B vehicless so I put it off and just have my windows down. It is two hot for the kids now a few months later so i stopped in today to see when they might be able to fit me in to just take a look. At no point did I ask them to fix it, but to see what happened for it to work when it came in and not when it was "fixed ". To make a long story short. The lady at the desk was rude and argumentive with me, when i had came in with a begging mellow demeanor. This is not how you run a business, and I am really dissatisfied with the unapproachable behavior and attitude that I was given. Frankly I am surprised that this hasn't came up before. If you want to be treated like crap and be argued with, by all means please take your vehicle here! read more
