Let's go back in time, maybe 2015, I was having issues with one of my tooths and my dentist referred me to Dr. Harandi. I can't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure I was on antibiotics from either him or my regular dentist at the time of my appointment with Dr. Harandi, which means I wasn't in pain or had any issues when I was at this appointment. During this appointment he said we needed to do a bone graft on that tooth or I would eventually loose the tooth. He quoted, I think I made an appointment, but probably cancelled because the antiobiotics kicked in. Fast forward to 2023, pain again, antiobiotics worked, but after a few months it's hurting again. Asked my general dentist for more antibiotics, she said no, see Dr Harandi. Made an appointment and he said, if you would have listened to me in 2015 you wouldn't be in this situation right now. In my head, I'm like FU, I'm in pain, fix my tooth. He's like tooths gotta come out and we'll need to bone graft. He was giving me the I told you so attitude but I can't argue, he did. During that same appointment, he said #13 needs a bone grafting, schedule an appointment and get it done. No BS, that entire ordeal sucked, lost a tooth, bone graft, pain, took weeks to recover. Every day, each week, each month, and each year after that surgery I kept hearing Dr. Harandi in my head telling me #13 and to schedule appointment. So after 3 years, 2026 I scheduled an appointment. No pain, no issues, but I knew eventually if I wait, I'd be losing another tooth and going throught that entire painful process again. I scheduled, he did the exam, and he said, why did it take you so long to come back? Here we go, I think I'm in trouble. He said schedule the appointment lets open it up and see what it's like inside. Once I'm in I'll know whether it's just a grafting, or if we have to extract. I said Dr, can you save my tooth? He said I don't know, I can't tell, but what I can tell you is that I'm in the business to save teeth, not pull them. That was a great answer. My appointment was 3 weeks later, so 3 weeks of praying that #13 is my lucky #. Sure enough it was. Dr. Harandi saved tooth #13, he didn't say I told you so, he said, get your teeth professionally cleaned every 3 months, floss and brush regularly. Bottonline: Dr Harandi and his team are pros. Listen to him and you'll keep your teeth! read more

I paid them over $500 for an X-ray and the consultation. They said they will call me back for a treatment plan. They never did! I've called them several times but no luck. I feel like I got robbed by this dentist!! BE AWARE!!! read more

Poor customer service. Cancelled my appointment without notifying me in advance. I showed up for the appointment at the time that was provided to me on the appointment card. Their office manager said that they had rescheduled the appointment. I did not receive any email or text message notifying me that it was rescheduled. read more

He and his staff are sure bad! The referral ended up with enforcing a dental service and not medical attention of anytime nor an advice; taking money! They delivered incorrect information about insurance approval and later after completing the visit, they charged me for it!!!! read more

Dr. Harandi came highly recommended from my general dentist who referred me to him after noting progressive gum recession in two areas in my lower jaw. Dr. Harandi did two oral surgeries for me, one in October 2023, and one in early April 2024. I now have beautifully restored and healthy looking gum tissue in the surgery site areas. So during my consultation, it seemed like the Doctor was great as he was answering my questions and acted professional and nice, he gave me two options, one to do a deep cleaning or one to do an implant, I decided to do a deep cleaning first as I didn't have any pain. After I decided to do that instead of an implant, it all went downhill the doctor stopped being nice and answering my questions because I didn't want to do the implant at the time. He became kind of pushy to try to convince me to do an implant even though I didn't want to do one at the time. The hygienist who did the deep cleaning was wonderful and gentle and did a good job. After I went back for the follow up, the doctor was still trying to push me to do a implant and when I asked about the evaluation that he did and he would not answer any more questions as he stated that he needed to do a full mouth 3d x-ray which isn't covered under insurance to answer any more questions even though I was asking questions about the examination that he performed.. Just because I didn't do an implant at the time he was very rude to me even in the follow up. I will eventually get an implant but not from him because the doctor is too pushy and tries to get me to spend more money before he answers any questions and was rude when I didn't want to proceed with an implant.. read more

Very gentle and great chair side manner. Everyone there from the front office to the back surgical rooms are very caring and understanding

I'm out $1250, for an extraction and a failed bone graph, that he performed with out doing prior exrays, told me I needed implant. Jabbed me with 3 injections with in 5 seconds, never allowed time to numb before he started. 2 week later I still can't eat or sleep. The one star is for his front staffing (they are nice), not Cathy, who was very nice before she had my money. Dr Harandi and his staff were great . I was referred by my Dentist for I had an issue after having braces . Dr Harandi discussed everything regarding my plan of care . He explained my treatment plan and answered all of my questions and made me feel at ease. His staff are nothing but courteous and professional . I'm not very good at names so please forgive my not bragging about them all. Cathy the office manager was very helpful in making sure my insurance covered their part and well , yes we have a cost share which wasn't too painful . Dr Harandi worked with my Ortho to fit a palate expander - not a fun process or procedure. At all times Dr H and his staff were so kind, supportive and accommodating. I was so concerned about having the palate expander fitted that Dr Harandi gave me his cell number to call him at anytime if I was in pain or worried about infection. He gives options for treatment with different costs and tells the pros and cons without trying to pressure or scare you in any way to do the more costly version. I've needed major work done on my teeth for a while. More work than a regular dentist could provide. So I went to a periodontist to repair my teeth and gums through oral surgery. Dr. Harandi is the best there is and I really appreciate his attention to detail and professionalism. His way of being also carries over to his office personnel. Dr Harandi was Great! This review is for the office staff which unfortunately dragged the office reputation down. Dr Harandi gave me a conprehensive examination and recommended follow up work to be done to help my dental condition, i agreed and everything was great until the lady who goes over the financial part takes over. I have to called the insurance carrier to get her information and she calls back, wanting me to contact to the insurance again for more information. Cannot work with a place long term who does not care about working with insurance to make sure my out of pocket is managable. Just pure laziness. read more

The dr.is wonderful however the reason for one star is due to the office staff. I was advise that I needed a teeth cleaning I was given a total amount and was told I could break it into two payments. For some reason the first payment half was higher than the second payment but I said OK.The moment I walked into the office I was immediately asked to pay the first payment before I could sit down.Several weeks later I received an invoice from my insurance company , I noticed that I was overcharged. I had to call their office and was told by the same rude office staff that the payment she quoted was a "estimate".I found it interesting because I've never gotten actually charged for a "estimate"before especially since we all know your insurance is checked and amounts are verified before you even arrive for your appointment. Am wondering if i wasn't notified by my Insurance company would I have been told by thier office staff. NOT GOING BACK ! read more

Dr. Harandi is a GEM!! He REALLY takes his time explaining what needs to be done, what options there may be, what to expect during the procedure and after, and more. Later, he explains as he does the procedure what he's doing now and what he'll do next. There are no surprises and his explanations really help alleviate anxiety about what is happening. He is very sensitive to the patient's anxiety or stress level and pauses frequently to ask if you are o.k., do you need a break, etc. The office staff and dental assistants are friendly, efficient, full of humor, compassionate, and helpful. If you want to have work done by The High Price Leader, Dr Harandi is your dentist. I found no problem with him or his staff other than pricing! In a effort to have two dental in-plants I was charged or to be charged: The first two visits paid $2,919 extraction the next visits were to be $8,076 note! this did not include crowns 15 minute oral evaluation $ 152 ($608 per hour rate) Referring dentist Dr. Shidara wanted: $5,000 for two crowns put on Dr. Harandi's posts. Total cost for the finished two in-plants $16,147 plus any extra oral evaluations. I am in the process of having in-plants posts and crowns crowns completed for $3,000 each tooth.(note Harandi did extraction and graft one tooth) I had a third in-plant done while while I was at it. Total $9,000 I woke up with the $150 evaluation and shopped around and found out most dentists charge around $3,000 to $4,000 per in-plant including crown. Dr. Harandi took over Dr. Reid's Walnut creek practice. I expected the same excellent care and professionalism that I experienced with Dr. Reid and his staff. I was very disappointed to receive no greeting when I arrived for my appointment, an unfriendly staff, and a "used car salesman" approach by Dr. Harandi. My cleaning (which normally takes over an hour) took a mere 30 minutes! Nope-will not be returning! read more

It was great to find a dentist so close to home, that focus on what was best for his patients, not on taking the easy way out to deliver services and make a quick buck. Dr. Harandi, works very closely with the patient and family to help them relax; and he explains what is needed and why. We were having a difficult time understanding the treatment plan for our daughter's from her previous periodontists and request a second opinion. He explained everything to us and was great in terms of patient care. I would recommend him highly to anyone in need of a periodontists, go to Dr. Harandi first if you really wish to save your teeth and get great care from the entire team. I think very highly of Dr. Harandi. I've had 5 gum graft surgeries over the last several years and he's performed every one of them. And when I inevitably have to go back for yet another one, you bet I'm going to Dr. Harandi. When the bleeding went on a little longer than I'd anticipated after my first surgery, I called him - late at night - on his personal cell phone number that he'd given me. He answered on first ring, placated my fears and offered to come in the next morning (a Saturday!) to check it out if it hadn't stopped bleeding within the next few hours. (It did.) Personally, I find him to be a gentle soul with a good-natured sense of humor. Someone I'd recommend to everyone! read more
