That's I'm assuming little café has recently won me over! I believe they used to be more of a sit down style, but recently changed to a sort of buffet. You can get one, two, or three entrées with your choice of rice for anywhere from $9 to $13. I was initially hesitant because I was worried it was gonna be low quality like those dollar scoop spots, but it's not at all. The food is so fresh and delicious... their fried chicken is so juicy and crispy and you get huge portions! I also really love their salt and pepper fish, I crave it regularly now! For the value you truly can't beat it and it is always so great to go in because the owner is so kind and happy to see you! The star of the show was the garlic fried string beans. We needed a vegetable and the chef recommend this dish. They were delicious with lots of "wok Hei" cooked just enough with a great crunch. We also ordered my standby favorite West Lake soup with its silky strands of egg white and bits of shredded Beef. We also were craving noodles so we ordered the chicken lo mein which was flavorful and a generous portion. This has lots of old fashioned Cantonese dishes too. Glad to see these were more on the authentic side. 11 entrees to choose from, heard they will add 2 or 3 more in the coming days. Certainly good options from items from their regular menu. I wouldn't really recommend coming here. It's dead silent inside which makes it really awkward sitting there. Service was also alright since there was 1 person taking the order, cooking, and providing the receipt while the other was sleeping in the corner. This is my second time giving this place a try. The first time I was really craving a specific dish that I saw they had on their menu when I looked them up online so I decided to try this place out. When I arrived, I was the only customer and it still took a minute to be seen and seated since the workers were in the back. I ordered the dish I wanted the first time I came here and they told me they didn't have it which is weird since it's on their menu but I brushed it off as maybe they didn't have the ingredients for it that day or something. My second time coming here today, I sat myself down since there was nobody at the counter. I was there probably for 10 min or so while the cook was cooking the dish for the other customer in the restaurant. I didn't realize until the cook said something but there was a worker sleeping in the corner of the restaurant with his shoes off and feet on the chair. I ordered their lunch special: Szechuan beef Moo goo gai pan (to go) The cook had to ask the other worker who was sleeping to get up and cook the dishes since she didn't know how. She then asked how to make both dishes and that worried me. I sat down to eat inside for my Szechuan beef dish but the moment it was placed before me I knew it was not going to taste spicy at all since I did not see a lick of pepper at all. I also had to ask for the complimentary soup that came with the lunch special. I think that was my favorite part of the entire meal, the soup. It came out nice and warm, there was corn, tofu, and egg inside the soup. I put a bit of rice in my soup for that nice texture. I've been doing it since I was a kid so it's become a habit now but I would recommend you do that if you happen to have soup and rice. For my to go order of moo goo gai pan, I was severely disappointed when I got home to see it was some type of beef and onion dish. I was really looking forward to my dinner but turns out I won't be having any vegetables besides onion which is one of my least favorite cooked vegetables to eat. read more

Small quaint dining area that reminds me of the small family owned restaurants that I grew up eating at. The menu is pretty extensive and has a lot of our favorite dishes as well as some interesting sounding dishes we will have to try on our next visit. Hong Kong and Szechuan are not related regions but we live in a melting pot country so I suppose they can co-exist. Hong Kong is coastal and the flavor tends to be more mild compared to Fire spices of Sichuan stir fry dishes. Szechuan beef tendon pot was not bad at all. It didn't have numbing peppercorn but still a good kick. Will be back to try more dishes. Look for seafood dishes under "House Special" and top right "Over rice" dishes those are the items you typically see at a Cantonese eatery. read more

My husband and I ordered UberEats from KP Asian Cafe last night and it was such a treat! Despite being about 4 miles away from us, our food was still steaming hot. We were very impressed by that. The wontons were massive and perfectly crunchy. The sesame shrimp was large pieces of fresh shrimp. It had a touch of spiciness but nothing too crazy. They also used real sesame oil for flavor, making it super tasty! The sweet and sour pork was delicious with big chunks of breaded pork, pineapple, and a little onion. I would consider this a hole in the wall type establishment, but I've found that some of the best food is served in places just like this. The service was great and my water glass was full. The food here is amazing! I've always been incredibly pretentious about Chinese food because I grew up in Chinatown in New York City, and I can definitively say that this is a rare gem I was happy to find. I got the sesame chicken which was amazingly crispy, the crab cheese wontons which were perfectly crispy as well, and the vegetable lo mein which was so flavorful. I even did take out - which sometimes Chinese food doesn't travel well, and this did! And I live half an hour away! This is hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever been to in the Denver Metro! I ordered takeout for my wife and I and couldn't have been more satisfied. The restaurant is ran by a very sweet husband and wife who even gave us a free order of crab rangoons because they "burnt" the first batch they made for us. (It wasn't burnt at all just extra golden brown, I'll ask for them to be cooked a little extra like these moving forward). The inside of the restaurant itself isn't much to right home about but for anyone who knows the memes of Chinese restaurants that have those faded menu signs are the best, this spot gives off those vibes! The portions are very large for the price, the egg rolls and crab rangoons where crispy with delicious filling. The fried rice that came with our General Tso's was fresh, my wife couldn't stop eating it. As for the General Tso's chicken itself, the breading on it was still crispy and rigid, making it the perfect breading to have the sauce get lost in all the nooks and crannies. Lastly, this combination Lo Mein was cooked perfectly and every meat in it was flavorful! We live right behind this little restaurant and I'm sad I didn't give it a try sooner! I walked into KP at around 11:30am on a Sunday and the place was deserted. My first impression was the dinning area was a little messy. The owner brought a glass of ice water and it tasted like the ice maker needed a major cleaning. The ice maker was also constantly making loud noise that was annoying. KP has two types of menu, American Chinese food and authentic Chinese food. I ordered the stewed beef brisket with rice noodle soup. The owner told me they used the Vietnamese pho noodle not the flat Chinese rice noodle. The stewed beef brisket was very authentic, a hint of the star anise and clove. The chili oil on the table was spicy hot. Overall, the taste was good, the use of pho noodle was not ideal, but still worth going back for another visit. read more

Absolutely love this place! Best Chinese food I've found in Denver so far. Both the outside and inside are very unassuming and it's located right next to the Asian Market on the strip so it can be easy to miss, however if you're passing by definitely give this place a try. It's run by a sweet old couple that are very proud of their food, and rightfully so! I've eaten here a number of times and I usually eat in although I noticed no difference between food quality or portion sizes when I ordered delivery. When I did eat in the service was great, I put in my order and as soon as each dish was finished it was brought right out steaming hot. Here are a couple of the items that I've tried from their menu: dumplings stuffed with pork and Chinese cabbage (do not mistake these with the steamed or pan fried dumplings), mapo tofu with minced pork, and the beef noodle soup. The dumplings stuffed with pork and Chinese cabbage are all handmade by the lady and are some of the best dumplings I've ever had. While they're ~$15 they were definitely worth it as I was brought out a huge plate filled with them. Every time I've ordered the mapo tofu I just can't stop eating it! Great spice, amazing depth of flavor, and the tofu has a comforting texture. Saving the best for last, the beef noodle soup is the best noodle soup I have ever had in my life.There's actually 2 different kinds of noodles you can get with it, but I always go with the flat noodles as that's how the guy recommended it (he even makes the noodles). Broth was so unbelievably flavorful and the noodles had perfect chew. To top it off the bowl is absolutely massive! All in all these folks have a wonderful restaurant that deserves more recognition for their amazing food. Until yesterday... we ordered our usual, though it was interesting it took 45 mins longer than previous. It's only an older couple cooking and handling business. Someone there yesterday had been waiting almost 2 hours for her takeout. They are barely wearing masks and NO GLOVES! We received our food to find.. NO RICE though included in our meal, we didn't even get the basic white rice! To make matters worse, NO MEAT!! In the Mongolian beef, it was a onion and pepper soup, terrible! My orange chicken was better than the beef but sub par to say the least. Owner is extremely nice. He came out to chat with us and check on us multiple times to make sure everything was okay. This is a rather new restaurant and has been in the making for over a year due to renovations. Their menu is a collection of typical Hong Kong cafe food and some Szechuan food. We ordered the broiled spicy fish, the numbing spicy tendons and tripe cold plate, and a stir fry shrimp vermicelli. The cold plate was delicious but the spiciness is very mild. We had to add more hot oil for more spice. The broiled spicy fish is decent but I wouldn't say it is very authentic. The noodle dish was good and not wet like other places. The noodles are perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The portion size is large so perfect for sharing. read more

I'll be honest - I decided to order from here because they had sesame balls on the menu. First of all, they are only doing take-out and delivery right now. Chicken with garlic sauce was good, but I wish it was more spicy (I added chili garlic when I had it at home). The fried rice that came with it was good but plain (just soy sauce no veggies). Lo mein was okay to be honest - I didn't like the noodles as much, as they seemed very dry and not enough vegetables/sauce. The pork eggs rolls were HUGE and fresh - would definitely order again. The sesame balls were the best I've had in Denver so far - red bean paste inside was perfect, and they are nice and bite-sized. Crab cheese wontons were given complimentary, which I appreciate but they are not my favorite. The people working weren't wearing masks as far as I could tell, so that put me off a little bit. I tried this place twice and never again. the sesame chicken was good but a little crunchy my fork could not stab the chicken. I had to switch to a metal. I got the lo mein with the chicken the first time it's a four dollar up charge and the noodles were dry so the next time I switch to the fried rice, there was no vegetables in the fried rice or no egg. it looked like they just put the rice and oil and put it in the container with being the meals being $15 and up and not eating the sides. This is the best restaurant in this strip mall, maybe even in Aurora. Sometime the wait may be a little long to get your food. But what sets this place apart is they make all of their noodles from scratch using a technique from China called (La Mian) noodle pulling. They start from flour, make their own dough then stretch and pull the dough by hand until they get it small enough for the mixture to turn into noodles. Too bad they don't show it. In China, this is part of the entertainment and in San Francisco some shops have these guys in the front window to bring in customers. Found this place when shopping at Pacific Ocean market. They have noodle soups w bbq pork, wonton and other combo. You can choose from egg noodle, flat noodle or udon. Love this restaurant and love the couple running it. However they are very short staffed - it's only the two of them - so don't order here if you want speedy service. Don't order here if you want typical American Chinese food like the kind you get at Panda Express. Order here if you want tasty, authentic Szechuan food and support a deserving elderly couple who has cooked and worked at other restaurants for most of their lives.
