No lie sweet auburn is always out of something every visit lol. We came early on a Monday lunch. Their happy hour starts at 3! Tuesday is taco tuesday Wednesday is $1 wings! Service was cool I felt like she was working the whole room which she did her thing! No wait of course. Very chill spot first time having the tacos and it wasn't too bad. The only thing I'd cut is maybe the mayo base slaws on all of them. Wings were good $12 for 6 wings was steep.

Smoked Brisket Egg Rolls was pretty good!

This place was really good and the service was even better. I highly recommend. Southern food with an Asian twist!

We visit this restaurant often and have gotten to know some of the staff. The food and atmosphere is consistent as well as the service. Typically, we have Chris or Makayla, they both provide great service. Additionally, the female manager with the black hair that is usually there is very personable and visible. It's definitely one of or local "go-to" spots for BBQ.

We chose this spot for an afternoon family outing. This sweet little gem is nestled in the shopping area of McDonough, GA. Let me just tell you everything was a perfect 10. From the food to the service this was a win! We tried a little bit of everything but my overall fave was the smoked fried rice with pulled chicken! The smoked wings were a close second! My husband tried the pick 3 with ribs, smoked turkey and brisket. For sides he had green beans and brussel sprouts. My son went with the brisket burger and onion rings. EVERYTHING was a hit! We'll return for sure! It's Asian fusion bbq so if you're looking for bbq with a twist, they have you covered! Don't miss out!

My wife and I went there for a late lunch. Seated immediately. Server Bree came over. We told her that this was our first time there. . She Explained what the restaurant was and gave us food options. We ordered our food. Everything was delicious. Service was great. The ambience was excellent. It was a great experience for the both of us. We were not disappointed. It's a hidden gem. We will return. Great find.

The place is nice inside and out and very clean. It has a trendy vibe but mostly chair seating a not too many booths. We had good service from the bartender Savannah. As far as the food goes we enjoyed it's mostly but I really feel like they try so hard so make something good better that they trip themselves up. I would never say "oh I want Sweet Auburn bbq" this is just my opinion of course. If you come for ribs just know they are "competition style" tough and hard to get off the bone. This is okay for some but I have never understood that, I cook mine to fall off the bone and easy to eat. The tastes are interesting but again I think they try to hard.

Absolutely loved this place. The service was OK. The restaurant was nice and the food was good. We ordered: Cornbread: the best I've ever had. It had a hint of jalapeño, was moist and toasted! The butter complimented it perfectly. Tacos: had three different tacos with different meats and flavors. Really good. Our least favorite was the bulgolgi taco. The sauce was too strong for our liking. Combo plate with pulled pork and brisket. The meats were so juicy and tender. They had a nice smoke flavor. Only downfall was it tasted too salty. It came with pickles and toast which was a perfect pairing. Brussel sprouts: loved these! It came in a nice sauce. The sauce was strong but really good. Could be taken out of the sauce if it's too strong. Mac and cheese: this was good. Nice and creamy. Not our favorite because of saltiness but still really good. I would definitely come back.

Disclaimer: I am not a huge fan of BBQ. This is probably the 1st BBQ place I've ever been to with that being said it may be my last visit to a BBQ joint. Our server was great she explained that Sweet Auburn is a BBQ Asian inspired cuisine restaurant. (Interesting mix) My potato salad was dry. The chicken wasn't cooked all the way. The Mac n cheese was okay but they had these jalapeño cornbread biscuits that were pretty good. It had a kick to them but I liked them. The friend who went with me had French fries with no salt and green beans with no seasonings. It's a cute place with lots of TV's but I think the best thing about the meal was the wine ...or perhaps I just needed an alcoholic beverage after that unsavory meal

This was just my second time going here but this was a good experience. We left the gym and came around 7:45 and they close at 9 and they took us in with no problem and we didn't feel rushed at all while being served. We both ordered the two/three meat platters and the food was seasoned well! They forgot one of our sides but was quick to remedy that after we made sure to ask. The jerk collards were my favorite along with the mac and cheese. SO YUMMY! The drinks were good too. The cinnamon apple type mule was 10/10. I definitely would come back just for the friendly staff and the calm vibes. They also played good classic disco/r&b and that was fun to vibe to.

First walking up to the restaurant the atmosphere is soft and timid. I walked in and picked to eat outside for this experience. Server was very polite, attentive and helpful. I ordered a ginger ale which is from the fountain and my fiancé ordered the Mexican sprite which comes in a glass bottle. We both ordered the pick 2 meats and decided to try out their wings since they have a $1 wing special on Wednesdays. Their sauces are homemade, so is the ketchup I believe because it tasted and looked different from bigger brands ketchup. Their brisket was good, we got a more fatty piece but they do offer lean pieces as well. Mac & cheese was good, not too much flavor but not too little. I wish the pulled chicken had a bit more flavor and sauce. Their grits were definitely not worth trying in my book. The grits tasted like baby milk and over expanded so they were more mushy. Their ribs were overcooked so they were more tougher and the marinade they use was sweet but tasted like the Al pastor marinade. Overall service was great so was the atmosphere, however is it worthy of coming back? Maybe for the brisket and Mac & cheese.

At first I thought the prices were a little high but then I saw what all we got and it was well worth what they charge. We actually were confused at first by the Vegan trailer outside. I assumed they cooked in the house and sold out of the food trailer but that is a whole separate business, when I asked for meat they said "over there." We went inside the house and we were greeted by 2 nice beautiful ladies that explained all our questions, as it was our first trip in, and we put our order in. There is a good bit of room inside if you want to dine in but we were on the road so Togo it was. We ordered the 2 ribs lunch, a half rack which was 6 bones and the pork sandwich. I got the hot bbq on the half rack and it was actually medium in hotness just fyi. I'm not a huge fan of beef ribs because most people can't get them tender enough but TOH did the deed and they were fairly tender. We will be back again to try other options.

The service was fine, but the food itself missed the mark for me. The seasoning was bland, the sides didn't have that homemade taste I was hoping for, and shortly after eating, I started feeling nauseous, which was disappointing and concerning. I wanted to love it, but the meal just didn't live up to the name or the hype.

Welcome back to the table…read more I find that most people dismiss rotisserie chicken as "basic," but finding one that is actually seasoned through to the bone is harder than it should be. I stopped by the Cowboy Chicken in McDonough looking for something reliable, and it delivered that specific, wood-fired comfort that's hard to replicate at home. The vibe is laid-back and rustic exactly what you'd expect from a spot centered around an open flame. The Spread We didn't hold back on the order, covering everything from the signature rotisserie to the brisket and bowls. The Signature Chicken: They use a dry rub and slow-roast the meat over real wood. The result is a juicy, tender interior with skin that carries a slight, salty crispness. What stood out most was the flavor penetration; the seasoning wasn't just sitting on the surface. Unlike many rotisserie spots where the center feels neglected or underdone, this was consistent throughout. It holds its own without needing sauce. The Sides: The Spanish Rice surprised me. Fluffy, well-seasoned, shelly in texture, and the addition of corn gave it a nice sweetness. The Mac and Cheese was a bit of a curveball; it's more on the liquid, saucy side, but the flavor builds on you the more you eat. The fries were perfect and held a solid crisp even after sitting for a bit. We ended up getting a second basket of Fries because the crunch held up beautifully, even as they cooled down. The Coleslaw will be a hit or miss for some, we had mixed reviews. The shredded cabbage was thicker than normal but the other half of the table it was perfect. Tinga Bowl ($14.00): If you want something that feels a bit lighter but still packs a punch, this is it. The shredded chicken has a balanced kick, paired with corn relish, black beans, and a sprinkle of "Cowboy Dust" for heat. It's refreshing but filling. Layered with rice, beans, corn relish, avocado, crema it all balances out. Not heavy, but still satisfying. Brisket Sandwich (13.75: The bread was lightly toasted, cradling pulled brisket that was smoky and not juicy because we needed sauce for it but the flavor was there. Crispy Tenders ($13.25): These were a table favorite. They nailed the external crunch without sacrificing the moisture of the chicken inside.Crunch on the outside, seasoned all the way through, and still tender inside. The Sweet Finish I'm officially a fan of their Texas Peach Cobbler. It leans more cake-like than soupy, which I prefer. It tasted fresh, warm and held its structure, making it a solid closer for a heavy meal. Service & Value The moment we walked in, the staff offered a genuine verbal welcome. The service was efficient, and the restaurant maintained a clean, organized look despite the steady flow of customers. At roughly $14-$15 for a plate with two sides and a roll, the portion size makes the pricing very reasonable for the quality you're getting. Table Approved This is the spot for a high-quality, fuss-free family dinner or a solo lunch when you're craving real wood-fired flavor without the fast food aftertaste. It's dependable, flavorful, and worth a visit for the chicken alone. Follow along where food meets adventure - Shallonz Table.
