The last couple of times I have bought a surprise bag at the end of the day the quantity has been extremely low, today's bag consisted of 10 pieces of bread and three bagels. I felt like the staff really had no idea of what was supposed to be given out. (there was a basket full of bagels.) but they gave me three. Order was wrong from the get go. Ordered drinks and when the meal came they were not there. we were given a little attitude when we asked for them like it was our fault that they were not there. we ordered soup and both were underwhelming or wrong. The broccoli soup came as mushroom and the wedding soup came as broth. Disappointed as this used to be a great place to eat. read more

Fresh made bread... yes please, fluffy egg salad... yes, please. Flavorful chicken tortilla soup...yes, please. Just what was needed on a rainy day. Staff were quick to greet and very helpful in making decisions. The restaurant was a bit over air conditioned but plenty of seating was available. Pricing was a bit high. If you know to request things a certain way, they will accommodate you. It is a chain and I wish it had more of a homey feel but the food was delish. This is a stand alone building with ample parking. Inside, a large room has tables with seating. Sandwiches are ordered and filled along the rear wall. We enjoyed GF broccoli and cheese soup, chicken Parm, and a GF transplant New Yorker. This place was great about gluten free options. The folks behind the counter were helpful and pleasant. The tables were clean and there plenty to choose from. The food was all fresh and delicious. We were thrilled to have tasty GF options. Highly recommend. read more

Amazing sandwiches. The bread is beyond fantastic. Staff were kind and helpful and efficient. They take your order orally and do the job perfect! We got cheesecake that was delicious. Cajun chicken sandwiches were great. Hot pastrami sandwich was amazing. They altered cheesesteak to have grilled chicken instead and it was amazing. The bread is fresh and delicious. Was out with my grandson, doing errands, and he offered to buy lunch and suggested Heidi's. We are both lovers of deli and this was amazing deli! We both wanted the French Dip and the Hot Pastrami so elected to share. The French Dip had a very flavorful, bowl full of yummy au jus - more than we needed, but it was so good, and worked with the beef and the roll. The winner however was the hot pastrami on pumpernickel with cheese, mustard and mayo. Staff was excellent, the food arrived fast and hot. I've been to Heidi's numerous times, so I'm not sure how I haven't given it a review yet! I am a sandwich lover- it's usually a go-to menu item for me when I dine out, so Heidi's is great in my book. I've always ordered their Reuben which is plentiful and delicious but when we stopped there this weekend I was sharing with my boyfriend. We decided on the club with ham, turkey and roast beef on a hoagie. It was very good and the perfect size to split. We ordered ahead online and it was very simple to customize your sandwich. I think it's strange that cheese is an up charge because... what's a sandwich without cheese!? The sides they offer are chips, slaw or potato salad. I usually go for chips but decided to try the potato salad. I'm sure some people love it, I'm just not a fan of sweet potato salad myself. They do have good pickles though! Heidi's has a menu full of hot and cold sandwiches, soups, salads and wraps. Prices are a little high but the sandwiches are worth it! read more

Heidi's has a good menu and pretty solid sandwiches. I got the meatball and my wife got a pastrami Ruben to go. Quality ingredients and decent portions for both. As you can see they used sliced meatballs on the meatball, which is a little weird. I was also surprised seeing sesame seeds on the hoagie roll, but it was actually pretty good. The only thing that prevented me from giving Heidi's a forth star was that the employees were all nose maskers - that unsafe and annoying habit of wearing a mask only over the mouth and leaving the nose exposed. It was disturbing, and despite the good food, I'm not sure I would go back. read more

The best egg salad sandwich in Maine. The "Hell's Kitchen" is loaded with tasty egg salad, avocado, Cajun sauce, salt, pepper, cheese, lettuce & red onion perfection. Almost forgot to mention bacon too! Comes with a nice side also! Fast service & great selection of NYC themed options. It's a tad pricey but I'll gladly pay that for the quality selections. If you are south of Maine I say save your 20$ for a different sandwich. Yep 17.85 for a water and sandwich. The bread used maybe ok for french toast but not sandwiches. It's puffy and light. Oil n vinegar goes right through it. No oomph. NOT brooklyn style at all. Maybe the 7.99 cup of soup is though. read more

Clean, pricey, good food, tip jar has KARMA written on it , that's rude ! There is a tip option when you pay before meal, cafeteria style but nice interior. Women owned business . Clean bathrooms . I would recommend they rewrite the tip jar , its offensive. read more

One of my favorite things about Heidi's is they make all their bread in house and each sandwich gets thick slices of them. I have ordered maybe 3-4 of their sandwhiches and I will explain each one in short detail. Hot Corned Beef: I had this on sour dough bread and it came with coleslaw in the sandwhich. Kind of tough to call your place Brooklyn Deli and the meat is lightly piled on. If I were at a true deli that corned beef would be stacked higher than I can get my mouth around. I added mayo and mustard and I enjoyed the sandwich. I have ordered it several times since. Chicken Salad: I had this one on marble rye which was very good. The chicken salad is a bit on the dry side and underseasoned a little salt and pepper can go a long way. I added lettuce, tomato, and red onion to it. They do give you plenty of chicken salad inside the sandwhich and the overall sandwich is perfect size for its value. Heidi's Club: Once they piled the meats and the veggies this sandwhich is one of hte thicker sandwiches they offer. I had it with the ham and roastbeef and then piled on lettuce, tomato and onion. I wish my corned beef sandwich was piled as high as this one. I enjoyed the sandwich, but it's nothing to go bragging immediatley to anyone to. The staff is what prevented me from giving them 5-stars. When there is a line of people waiting to place their order they tend to look up at you, waiting in line, and say nothin. You don't even get I will be right with you and thank you for your patience. Each staff takes the order and they only work with that single order. You would think that you had someone who would pull the break, place it in the toaster, then you have your cold sandwhich maker and a hot sandwhich maker. Something along the lines of an assembely line. Maybe that is efficient for them, but I do see lines that do wait 2-3 minutes before they are helped. Overall I would go back to Heidi's because it's conveniently located near my job and I do enjoy the taste of their sandwhiches. I just think there is room for improvement in moving customers through the line quicker and than you can call yourself a true New York style deli. read more

This is our 5th visit and I have to say it was the worst visit. When you pay $26 for two sandwiches and one soda drink you expect quality. Our subs rolls were burnt, one of the workers was scrapping burnt bread off my husbands sandwich and they served mine burnt. My husband ate his but I sent mine back to get a perfectly toasted sub but one tiny piece of mozzarella that we paid extra for! Workers were not friendly about our experience either. Heard about this place for a while, always good. Finally had the opportunity to try it out. First impressions: Dirty tables. Plenty of flies everywhere. If my girl friend had not been with me, I would have walked out. Ordering for a new comer was confusing, and the staff seemed just as confused. A couple reminders of what you ordered had to be done. Exceptionally busy...obviously this is a well liked establishment. The food itself was okay, but Firehouse subs are much better, and a better value. I think the fly problem grossed me out too much to really enjoy what I had ordered. I can't say I would never go back, but it would have to be in the dead of winter when theoretically, those winged creatures won't be a problem. All in all, I could have lived without ever visiting this place. But now I know. read more

Quite the location and very friendly staff. The meat on the sandwich was dry. The cost of the meal was very high. The trump of these was the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. One issue is that on a posted menu board, it listed that chips were included with a sandwich. Yet, when checking out, I found out that there was a charge for chips, even though a posted sign reads that each sandwich would come with a side, and chips was an option. read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat in the Lewiston-Auburn area. 1. The sandwiches are unique and incredibly tasty (the bread is so fresh and is not like any other bread I have tasted). 2. We ordered two sandwiches with ciabatta bread from the menu. We received the sandwiches with regular white bread. When we went in to ask for the ciabatta bread correction, we were informed that they call their regular white bread ciabatta even though it isn't because it sounds better. So disappointing. I ordered a Caesar salad today and added salmon. The salmon was almost $5 to add but I thought that was fine because salmon can be pricey. When I got my salad I tried a piece of the "salmon" and it tasted like canned chicken. When I asked about it they looked at it and said "no, that's our salmon." So nasty. read more

The food is delicious, especially the cheesecake but the service sucks. I actually had an employee argue with me. He made the sandwich wrong added sauerkraut to it and argued with me saying he didnt put it on. He told me it was cheese. Another employee chimed in saying she watched him make the sandwich and he didnt put sauerkraut on the sandwich. A 3rd employee came over and verified that there was infact sauerkraut on the sandwich and had him remake it. When he brought the remade sanwich out the bread was burt.
