When it comes to the service industry, it's really hard to find reliable, reasonably-priced companies who aren't trying to pull a fast one. Finding a reliable plumber is a crapshoot, and it seems like there's countless stories of people getting swindled by companies. When my water heater broke, I was dreading to find someone who can fix it. I didn't want to deal with dishonest companies who want to overcharge or try to sell me something I don't need. I decided to go on Yelp and see what's in my area. K and R came up as one of the few plumbers in Torrance with 5 stars. After reading some reviews, I decided to give them a call. I talked to Krystal, who was very courteous straightforward. I was able to get an accurate quote over the phone and someone arrived at my house in a few hours. They were very professional and was able to assess the problem and fix it in about half an hour. I probably could have saved some money if I fixed it myself (there's only a few parts that can go wrong with a water heater), but when it comes to appliances hooked up to gas lines, I rather have a professional do it. They also fixed a leak in my main water line free of charge (had to tape and tighten the hose bib), so that was nice of them. I'm glad that I gave K and R a chance. They are honest people and really do mean it when they want to win your business for life. I'm definitely convinced and will call them again in the future for plumbing needs. If you're hesitant about which company to call for your plumbing problems, don't be. Give these guys a chance to win your business. Unfortunately cannot recommend their work. Had an issue with our plumbing and it backed up . Called through our home insurance and they set up an appointment two days later.So no plumbing for two days and of course they come at the last minute at the end of the assigned day. They said they snaked the line and it lasted one whole week. It is now Xmas eve, no plumbing, out of money that we paid them to supposedly snake the line and they are not answering calls. Very, very disappointing to say the least. I see you are quick to respond to unfavorable reviews. Too bad that is not the case on rectifying previous paid work that is questionable. Yes, you made it clear there are roots in the line and there might be future issues. Little did I know they would be super roots growing incredibly fast in 11 days to once again cause an issue. This is long overdue 2nd review of my experience with Robert and his team. Just like the first call, they replaced a second section of a corroded steel pipe that was leaking without any fuss or drama. Of course I know we will need to replace all the pipes shortly, but my parents just dont have the funds saved up yet. I was glad they were not pressured and didnt get any grief from them. Saw the great reviews on Yelp and had to give this a try, given the limited time I had with a pinhole leak in my garage. I'm so glad I called - Robert came within an few hours and got it done within an hour. I was looking for a plumber to repair my water heater and checked Yelp to see who was nearby and highly rated. K and R was both so I made the call. Kristal picked up the phone, got my info and promised to have someone out that day. She also told me they would call before they came out since the time window was 4 hours due to heavy volume that day. Early on in that time window I got a call from Robert and 15 minutes later he and one of his plumbers were here working on my Water Heater. Not long after that everything was fixed and put back together. Price was reasonable. Hot water was working again. The best part of my experience is that K and R handled my issue from first call to completion courteously and professionally. Everything was done exactly when Kristal said it would be. In my first month of renting a house, the last thing I thought about was having to deal with a clogged toilet. I definitely didn't think I would have to deal with the toilet overflowing too. Robert, Crystal and team were very professional and provided quick quality work. First time they came, they helped diagnose why our pilot light was not lighting. Job was quick and got us by for a couple weeks, but when the problem worsened I called them back. It was an urgent call and they fit us in next day. Two of Robert's team (forgot the names) helped us with the removal and install of the water heater. They replaced the old supply lines and brought things to code. The install was clean and quick. It might have helped that our tank sits outside too. Final price quoted was little less than home depot and other in the area. My husband and I purchased our first home in July. Before moving in we wanted to do a few upgrades and the plumbing was on the list. We had 9 days between the time the sellers left and the move in date. K and R were great about scheduling the job and had no problem finishing on time AND working around/with my other contractors. K and R re-piped all aspects of the interior and exterior piping and with a mix of copper and pex pipes and replaced all the drains. In addition to replacing the existing plumbing, K and R also relocated the hot water heater, installed a Nuvo whole home water filtering system, installed hookups for the washer/dryer and installed the dishwasher. Kim and Robert are professional and knowledgeable; I would highly recommend them for your plumbing needs. We are are pleased with the quality of all the work they provided and the price was competitive with other quotes. My elderly mom had a plumbing emergency that had us scrambling for a plumber that would come out on a Sunday evening. After reading other reviews, gave K and R call. I explained that due to my mom's age she was sensitive and anxious so wanted to make sure that she was treated and talked to very gently. Robert came over right away and saw the potentional problem. If you want plumbing done right - call these guys. The last guy that worked on my kitchen sink left me with lousy water pressure, no hot water and a leaking garbage disposal. This plumber's office completely FAILED! Called first thing in the morning and spoke with their office manager Crystal about coming out asap. She asked if she could call back to double check schedule & when she did call back said they could and would show up between specific hours. She got my information and said that I would be one of the first appointment of the day and she'd call me to let me know they were on their way. I waited and after 3 hours no call or visit. When I called back they didn't have me on the schedule and denied talking to me. I went over our conversation again with both the receptionist & then office Manager Crystal. She completely denied speaking with or promising to come out to service our unit. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND DEFINITELY UNRELIABLE. I would have understood if a mistake was made but the condescending tone & attitude was deal breaker and apparently have forgotten what customer service is and makes me wonder do they really know what their doing . WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM NOR ARE THEY CUSTOMER ORIENTED. **Nice try to deflect Blame Robert. I did called the right number and did speak to your office. Once again, you've proved not to be professional and own your mistake. BTW, there are other "negative" reviews that are similar to mine. Something wrong with the drain of my guest bath tub so I made a quick appointment after I tried zip-it and Drano. The plumber arrived on time and identified the problem in seconds. It turned out my guest accidentally switched the bath but trip level/stopper and I didn't even notice it. The plumber was very patient to explain the issue even it was such a simple thing and actually nothing went wrong. He was super honest and considerate and reported this to the owner. This folks are amazing!! Until now, I have never found a plumber that was more caring and compassionate, in looking out for the customer. I was recently shopping for a new plumber when I came across K and R Plumbing. After reading all their stellar reviews, I wanted to try them out. Well coincidentally my home protection warranty called them on my behalf to address 2 claims. So I had the opportunity to assess them. All I can say is WOW!!! First, they cleared our stopped up drains and cleared a feed line to our kitchen faucet (this after another plumber told us that the line was clear and that we needed to replace our kitchen faucet at substantial cost). They had our faucet working better than ever in less than 5 minutes. These people treat you like family. They went way above and beyond to resolve a tankless water heater issue that I had been experiencing, even in trouble shooting with the manufacturer and convincing the manufacturer that the appropriate resolution was for them to replace our water heater under warranty. My wife and I have most definitely found our go-to plumber. You cannot go wrong with these folks. read more

Hire an experienced plumber or an 18 YO kid that just learned how to use a drain snake and works for a franchise drain service ?...your choice. My vote goes to the experienced plumber. K and R has done work on our home three times now from a simple drain clean outs, to servicing our tankless water heater, and recently responding after hours when a shower valve broke and the hot water run could not be stopped.
