I like Kraby J's - a lot! My wife and I stopped in here for our inaugural visit on Sunday April 26, 2026. The restaurant sits on the water and has a nautical theme. It is an attractive space with lots of varnished wood. We were here late morning and there was a decent crowed. I had a stack of pancakes and my wife had a Scrambler. My pancakes were very good, and her Scrambler was great. I love the smashed potatoes at the bottom of the bowl. Prices are reasonable and service is very friendly. The patrons are all very nice. I bumped into a buddy there, and some woman gave my wife a homemade cookie that was delicious! Can't wait for our next visit! read more

Is the second time I've been here and it's super awesome. First time I came was on a Friday night and we ate the unlimited fish fry, which is absolutely excellent and the first time I've ever had a fish fry, also ate the crispy Seabass, which was amazing, the advertisements are all super fire, and the service is the best. I just met the owner and the owner's father, super awesome people, the kind of restaurant and person you want to support. Definitely come here and try their awesome food which definitely includes the pizza which was graciously provided by Kyle and his dad. I wish I could give them 0 stars. Went in there after a long hot week, was hoping to get some carry out for dinner. I walked in behind a group of people, they were seated right away. I waited for about a minute before a guy walked up and I said I wanted to order carry out. He responded saying "we're not doing g carry out on 4th of July weekend". I responded "ahhh, Really?" "Even right now?" Being not even 5pm on a Friday. I don't woke in a restaurant and don't know what they consider "the weekend". I go to walk out the door and he gives me a smug ass response "buy the building and you can make the calls" then before I turn around on the steps to reply he runs into the kitchen. So I go back up the stairs and wait till I see him Again. He walks out a different door goes around the back of the restaurant, does something at a table then starts walking in my direction and I asked him "What did you say to me?". Where he then says again "I said buy the building and you can make the calls". I said "I asked you a simple question and you give me a smug ass response for no reason". Then he says "he's just giving it like I gave it". Lmfaoooo..... total joke right?! I gave the guy absolutely zero attitude. The funniest thing is after looking up the restaurant it's one of the owners. Total shit thing to say to someone that's trying to actually support your business. Clean up your shitty attitude. The ability to be a decent person isn't difficult. Service was awful. No one smiled or welcomed us. We sat down they said we're busy your foods going to take a while to come out. Ok fine, not the warmest welcome but thanks for being upfront. Then we got the all you can eat fish fry. When we asked for more fish they were so annoyed. One girl made a comment "another one?!?" Like we were bothering her by ordering what we paid for. When my boyfriend asked for more a second time the server said is there something wrong with the one on your plate? There was nothing on his plate just one on my plate I was still working on. Look in for a place to have lunch on the water. It was really a algae covered inlet but still enjoyed it. We were early and they seemed happy about the. By the time we were done the place was full. The food is from a scratch kitchen, we had a mezcal mango margaritta and a regular margaritta both were good. First we had the fried chicken cob salad wrap with blue cheese. Was tasty but more salad like. Secondly, I had the smash burger. The pimento cheese was suggested so I did. Was delicious, just what I hoped for. We sat on the deck, for a nice little lunch date. The gentleman who served us was kind and knowledgeable about the menu. The service was quick (we were the first to arrive for the lunch rush). My husband had the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and I had the Chicken Ceasar Wrap, both with Garlic Parmesan Fries. Delicious. Absolutely wonderful. Those fries are addicting. Our first time here was today and I was a little skeptical because people who look like me tend to be treated differently.. They were friendly from the start and very informative. When the place first opened it was better. The owner was more friendly and engaging. The food was larger serving sizes too. It seems they have made some subtle portion controls. The food is still pretty tasty, but the last two times I ate there my order was screwed up. The atmosphere is warm and northwoods cabin like. They have an awesome fireplace in the dinning area, and if you get there at the right time it's very warm and nice to sit near the fireplace on crisp fall weekend mornings for breakfast. read more

The food and service need some help here. I ordered the seabass with risotto and green beans. The waiter forgot part of my drink order (which I let go). My main issue is with the food. The seabass was okay, but the risotto and green beans didn't have real butter, the restaurant cut corners and gave me some type of nasty soybean oil margarine which made me feel sick afterwards. Krabys is amazing! All of their food is made from scratch and is fresh, including all of their sauces and dressings. Their cocktails are made delicious! B/c they are a scratch kitchen, when it is fully sat it may take longer for food to get to you but it is worth the wait! We had the seabass entree and the Ruben sandwhich. Both were amazing! The seabass was crispy on the outside, but like butter on the inside and the mushroom risotto was great. The corner beef on the Ruben was shaved from the corned beef they make in house, definitely better than anything else in the area! The owners told us they do not own the building and cannot make many changes due to the landlord. We just dined at Kraby J's since the new owners turned over early November 2023. The last time we visited the restaurant was teal full of ocean type decor. When we visited today, the owners finally understand the area, it was a retro cabin like feel. I felt cozy dining there as I should with a lake side Restaurant. One of the owners, Kyle, greeted us and introduced himself to us as we came in. Let me start with the food--WOW. We have dined around the area and I can say the food was the best food we have had. We ordered a pizza for us and the kids--it was thin and crispy with a caramelized cheese crust- to add they were not light on the toppings. I ordered a Cobb salad that had real thick cut bacon and grilled chicken, it was enough to fill me and will be my go-to salad. My husband got a spicy chicken sandwich that was stacked high and a wonderful presentation with the knife. It's nice to finally have good food in the area! My husband got the peach bourbon drink and I had a Paloma and they were fantastic--finally drinks you want with dinner! We came with our two toddlers (1.5 and 3.5) for an early dinner-- which we always prepare ourselves for battle. And the waitstaff and owners were fantastic. They even had games for our kids once the kids were no longer interested in the toys we brought. The chef, and co-owner, even came out of the kitchen to thank us for coming and it was wonderful to be able to compliment him on his food. I had the short Ribs the meat melted in your mouth the spinach was sautéed perfect touch of garlic our waiter was on the top of things if we needed another drink of course I needed another cup of fresh Blue Cheese dressing they make it hear. Went for breakfast the food is so good. It's not a huge place but it doesn't seem cramped, they have a fireplace and a warm cozy atmosphere. The service was good, the server was pleasant, and my order was exactly what I wanted. It's the second time I've been there and the last time was in the summer and they have a deck looking over the water. And they have a decent size parking lot. read more

New owners! Dined in on 12/10 for dinner and the food was great. My family ordered the chicken sandwich and smash burger, and everyone was very happy. I had the pizza which was hard to stop eating! It has a thin crispy crust that's unique to Kraby J's. Another highlight is the homemade ranch, it's delicious. We sat by the fireplace making for a very cozy winter vibe. The food is good. The service was good. We did receive our food before our salads came out. When management came over we let them know. It was not a big deal but thought we would say something since they asked. She then brought this young person with her and he apologized to us for it. We didn't want an apology we just wanted to make them aware of what happened. She proceeded to argue with my husband and under her breath as she was walking away said we didn't need to come back which was a little surprising because we had been here numerous times before. We felt bad for the kid that came out and felt he was forced to apologize. The young man then came to our table with a fee desert which we didn't need nor want. We still felt bad for this young kid because we wanted to make sure he didn't have to pay for our desert and all he would say is it was on him. My husband also spoke with the owner who stood by who we believe is his mom in the handling of the situation . There are too many places on the chain with good and good service and I would tell all my friends and friends to go somewhere other than KRABBY J's. 1st time here ..... came here on a very cold Monday evening.... They had a fire going and was very cozy, was greeted right away and was told the specials for the night ... Monday is $2 Coors Light and 1/2 price appetizers!!!! Started with cheese curds and Wings then we got a pizza shaved prime rib and Nueske's Bacon .... And a shaved prime rib sandwich!!!! Food was excellent.... It's a scratch kitchen ever thing made from scratch as it should be!!!!! They have $10 lunch specials all week until summer time then just M-F ..... While this venue has been a favorite place to dine (Rosie's then Crabby J's) we will probably never go back. I have heard this place was new management - Im sad to say they are awful! Food was good, service not so much - bartender gave us wrong beer - we still paid for it - whomever waited on our table (not sure if manager or owner) never introduced himself - didn't welcome us - the minute he handed us menu's expected us to order (we waited quite while before anyone came to the table) I noticed the other waitress NEVER smiled - we felt very unwelcome - and that we were an inconvenience - food given to us without utensils, napkins. The kicker - the server gave us our change and we did not put it away fast enough apparently because he came back moments later to take dishes - and grabbed up the change and said oh this is for me - thanks, come again without even looking at us! Bloody Mary was very tasty along with their wings. We tried two different wing sauces a sweet chile and a mango habanero, the latter being my favorite with just right amount of heat. 5 minutes ago NEW I don't leave really bad reviews often. If you have children this is not the place. We walked in everyone stared at us. The waitress was totally annoyed I had kids. Threw a menu at me. More annoyed at me when I ordered an appetizer. Then told me kitchen was closed at 4. It was 3:50. Probably should have let me know that when we sat down. Kids were so excited for crab legs, and again waitress not so nicely said we don't have crab today. This is the first time I walked out of a restaurant. We would certainly will never go back. This is definitely not a dinner place. It's a Antioch bar at best if you know what I mean. My daughter left in tears. Said Momma please take me to Dockers where they are kind.
