Found this place on Yelp and decided to stop in for a tea while on our way to a party. I initially saw the Golden Lotus, but was disappointed to find out they don't make it anymore. I opted for the moon princess instead. I got it with easy ice and 50% sweetness. It was tasty, but I feel like the large peach slices and the pink crystal boba took away from the amount of tea that was actually in the drink. I would've liked more tea and less stuff inside. As for the sun bright, it was also 50% sweetness and easy ice, it too was tasty, but not something that I would order again. If in the area I'd come back to try more drinks, but I won't be making a special trip. read more

We always try to get new things and try a new drink every time, so I will be updating this review each time we go :) With so many good boba spots around campus, it's always hard deciding where to go. More often than not, we find ourselves coming back to Krak, and for good reason. The service is fast, the place is usually always clean, and the staff are always friendly and accommodating! It also helps that they serve some of the best boba in Riverside! There are so many good drinks here that it would be impossible to recommend just one or two. With that being said, here are some of our favorites: King Brûlée (11/10): This is my personal favorite drink at Krak! It has just the right level of sweetness, texture, and different flavors blended together. To be fair, I really enjoy sweeter drinks, but if you don't like your drinks super sweet you can always order reduced sweetness! You can also order a blended version called the Queen Brûlée which is equally as good! Strawberry Snow (9/10): This one is super creamy and sweet...and it has A LOT of strawberry flavor. If you're a fan of strawberries it's a must-try! Gurellia Thai (9/10): There are a lot of different flavors packed here, but they all work surprisingly well! The matcha is amazing and the cheese cream really adds a nice twist and rounds everything off nicely. Strawberry and lychee yogurt (10/10): For a while, these two were my go-to orders at krak, and it's for a good reason: they're both absolutely delicious. They both are a little sweet (even for me!), so I would actually recommend asking for reduced sweetness here. They come default with popping boba, but if you're more of a fan of traditional boba you can switch it out! read more

How have I not written a review yet for Krak? This location took over Roasting Water awhile back and the shop is much more spacious now! The employees are always very friendly and social distancing is enforced. This is located in a pretty sketchy plaza though, so be cautious of that. The menu is pretty unique, so if you're looking for your everyday boba shop that has anything you're craving... this might not be it. However, they do have a good variety of flavors. Their menu has very niche drinks that you need to be in mood for. The Golden Lotus is probably the most unique one on the menu (I recommend!!). The King Brulee is also a favorite if you have a sweet tooth. I've never had a bad drink here, but keep in mind that the tea taste isn't very strong here. I see some people compare this to omomo but they're really incomparable. Just note, if you're going to compare the two, Krak's signature twist drinks are mostly slush so they are completely off from omomo and should not be expected as such because you might be disappointed. Even though I wish their speciality drinks were adjustable, I didn't mind the sweetness but I know many people would believe it's overbearing. I also asked to add egg pudding but they forgot to put it in and unfortunately I already left before I could let them know. Also, I might've gone on a rough day but some of the workers should improve on their customer service skills as some came off a bit rude when I asked if there's a possibility of making any adjustments. Overall, the taste of the drink is good but I hope they can widen their flexibility with drinks, including adjustments and being open minded to non-slush signature drinks. read more

I rate this place a 3.5/5 for now. It's currently their soft opening and I've visited only once. I want to see how their other drinks and food live up once their grand opening hits. As a fellow boba lover, it's always amazing to see more boba places pop up near UCR. Interior looks really cool. Plenty of seating if we were not in the current pandemic. Love their usage of paper straws and television menus. Super sustainable. There staff is also very welcoming. I ordered the Golden Lotus which is one of their specialities drinks. The drink cost me about near $6. This place is definitely on the pricier side. The oolong tea base was really good. The toppings were alright. Definitely reminds me of Viet desserts though. My friend ordered their brown sugar milk tea speciality drink but he was disappointed since his drink was put into a smaller cup vs. the cup I received and I'm sure we paid the same price. A bit on the pricier end but so far the drinks are decent. Their grand opening is July 18th and they're offering free drinks to the first 100 customers. Embarrassed to say that I found out of Krak Boba from TIKTOK of all places LMFAO they really got their employees do the marketing for them to fit this generation. I guess it worked because they got me to drive 30-40 minutes just to get here! My verdict? The food/snacks were better than the drinks... how is that even possible? The design of the entire place is spot on. They got that down on lock. From the neon sign, menu, posters, etc. all of it is very eye catching. Tonight I decided to make the drive to see what it was all about. I ordered a Brown Sugar Milk Tea and Oolong Milk Tea. I'm a fan of oolong so I wanted to see how they did it. I also got the brown sugar to see if it could compare to other places that served brown sugar drinks. I was left speechless upon the first few sips of both drinks. Speechless in the worst way possible unfortunately :( at least for these two drinks, Krak Boba falls victim to being a place that's more for social media rather than about the taste. First of all, I'm not a fan of places that don't fill the cup up all of the way. With a completely clear cup, it's hard to hide any errors. That was the first thing I noticed when I picked it up. Both drinks were inconsistent with the ice levels. Keep in mind I made no adjustments to the drinks. The brown sugar milk tea came with a normal amount of ice for the cup while the Oolong Milk Tea barely had any ice. As a result, the brown sugar drink was ice cold while the oolong was only slightly cold. Already disappointed before I even got a chance to try the drinks. Both drinks were extremely diluted and bland. I tried the oolong first and the oolong tea was very light. The brown sugar milk tea was even worse. I noticed the brown sugar syrup sank to the bottom so I shook it up and mixed it to make sure it was distributed throughout. I literally thought I was drinking an iced water on my first sip. It tastes like iced water with some brown sugar syrup. It's supposed to be a milk tea but i tasted no tea in this drink either. These two drinks NEED work! I really wanted to find something positive but it was too flavorless to do so. I do understand that they had their grand opening this past weekend so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and hopefully this was just a fluke. I do think they should have taken the time to master the drinks that may not be so popular during their soft opening. I will give them another chance in the future and try a more popular drink option. On to the food... it wasn't bad! I got the Popkrak Chicken and Krak Bread. Popkrak Chicken: The chicken was on the crunchier side of popcorn chicken. The breading is thicker and when it hardens even more as it cools it can get hard to pick up a piece using the plastic forks they give. Comes with sweet chili sauce. I ordered it spicy but it wasn't spicy to me at all. The chicken wasn't incredibly dry like some places make it so that was one positive about it. The chicken is marinated but most of the flavor you'll get from using the dipping sauce. Krak Bread: I've seen this popping up more and more. It's a Korean sweet cream cheese garlic bread. I was surprised and impressed by this actually. First time trying it after seeing it online. The bread was fluffy and soft on the inside and toasted on the exterior. It was brushed with a garlic butter or glaze of sorts and had a sweet cream cheese filling inside. 11/10 would order again!!! Service: it wasn't bad but not great. I came 30 minutes before closing so I understand the frustration on their end. I felt rushed because after I ordered one thing, he would say "anything else" after everything in a rushing tone. It does seem like a fun environment to work in and the employees seem to enjoy working there but that energy should definitely be transferred to serving the customers. Interior: like I've already said, the design of the shop is very trendy and social media worthy. They had already turned off the neon sign over 30 mins before so I didn't get a picture with on. It wasn't at the cleanest state either. The floors were sticky and had footprints all over. Tables weren't too clean either. These are just little nitpicks but the details matter especially when they just opened that week. Krak Boba does deserve another chance but probably in the future when they are more settled in. They need to work on improving the drinks that might not be the most popular or best selling option. They could also improve the service and pay attention to the details such as the cleanliness and presentation of the store. Definitely a cool boba shop and I can see it being a hangout for college kids. I'd say to give them a chance but definitely stick to the more popular choices for now. read more

One of my favorite boba shops in Riverside! I get the King Brûlée almost every time I come here. It is similar to a brown sugar milk tea with pudding, but with the added surprise of pieces of creme brûlée mixed in with the pudding. It's on the sweeter side but perfect as a dessert in my opinion, and hits the spot every time! Today I decided to venture out of my comfort zone and try the blended Strawberry Yakult. Ordered 50% sugar but in retrospect wish I got full sweetness since the result wasn't sweet enough for me. I also wish it had a stronger yogurt flavor! Will probably get my usual drink next time. I have also tried my boyfriend's drinks in the past: Taro Twist and Matcha Storm were good, the Guerrilla Thai was too sweet for me. The service here is great. The baristas/cashiers are kind and have always accommodated if I asked for a change in my drink in the past. Parking is never an issue either! Lots of spots right out front. The menu was similar to R&B, though I'm not sure who or what came first, but, there is an R&B around the corner. Krak does have a couple of items that are different from R&B. Krak was expensive. The R&B in my hood has a happy hour where you can buy one and get one at 50% off. I guess if you are addicted to milk teas or boba and need to satisfy your craving, then you can get your fix here. I came here twice! The first time I got the matcha storm 50% sweet and my bf got the king brûlée 100% sweet. The matcha storm was very sweet for me so I had to add my own milk to dilute it at home but overall the drink was good. The king brulee was disgustingly sweet. We decided to give this place another try and the second time I got the taro twist 25% sweet while my bf got the king brulee again but 75% sweet this time. Both drinks were still very sweet The taro tasted pretty artificial even with slight taro chunks in there. I don't think I'll be coming back. It's called crack because it's basically all sugar. Their coffee with coffee jelly and boba were not good. The boba was ok but the coffee jelly was hard, harder than a hard boiled egg white. The drink itself was was overly too sweet! As in, I took 2 sips and had to dispose of it, it's not edible at all and I have a high tolerance for sugar. My husband's 'frap' was the exact same case, it was too sugary & he only took a few sips as well. If we decided to finishour drinks, we'd probably feel horrible afterwards and that's not a risk we're willing to take. Upon entering, the door handles were sticky and then I was greeted. I asked for their popcorn chicken and the cashier tells me it has been discontinued 4 months ago. I asked when they opened and she says, uhm.... maybe since June or July. So they carried food for 3 months? I was so confused. The outskirts of this place is not safe enough for my liking, I wouldn't feel comfortable drinking my boba in this plaza. Today was my first time coming here and it was very easy to place an order for pick up. I was about 11 minutes away and my order was already done when I had arrived there. The staff was friendly and attentive. The shop was super clean. I had ordered a Brown Sugar Milk Tea ($4.75) and a Wintermelon Black Milk Tea ($4.75) with Grass Jelly ($.65). The Brown Sugar Milk Tea was surprisingly not sweet like most places. It was yummy and it had a great burnt brown sugar taste. The Wintermelon Black Milk Tea was delicious! Lots of tea flavor and the Grass Jelly was smooth in texture. Overall, very inexpensive and great quality. Staff is fast and nice. What a pleasant surprise to find a nice boba store that is clean and has delicious boba drinks in the Moreno Valley area! Upon entrance, we were quickly created, and we had over to the kiosk (there's 2) for a quick and efficient online ordering. I got the jasmine green milk, tea, the brown sugar milk tea, and the matcha milk tea. it typically get 75% sugar at other stores but for this store I opted for 50%, I think this store is more on the sweeter side but sweetness can be adjusted by 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%. I have been here a couple times and have left not too happy with my drink (and I have a friend or two who did not like their drink) but when it is right it is perfect. Quality and service has gone up over the past couple of times I've visited! The drinks are on the pricier end but atleast they give you the full cup portion even when you ask for no ice. Because other places give you less of the drink when you ask for no ice. What's also great is that they have bags to hold your drinks (might need to ask and sometimes they won't bag it for you but still good for those who order alot of drinks) My go-to drinks are: + King Brulee (Brown sugar goodness!) + Strawberry Matcha Latte (Great balance of both worlds) + Strawberry Yakult (Lovely frosty fruity yakult flavor) You can't really go wrong with the specialties but if you want a chill refreshing drink I recommend the Fruit Teas. I still find it weird that the menu is on the side of the cashier and not in front of you. Also there isn't any seating areas on the side where you wait to pick up your order.
