    Iced vanilla latte
    Sabrina W.

Stopped here on a busy Sunday and got great service. Unfortunately my iced vanilla latte tasted like it was absent of any vanilla whatsoever. My boyfriend got their coconut vanilla latte special though and that was really good. The interior was super cool and we loved the theme as well as the plants they had. They had to close unexpectedly early due to short staffing but they informed us of this in a polite manner.

Enjoyed a hot honey lavender latte this morning. We used to love going to this shop in Pismo, but that one has been closed the past couple times we visited. Excited to see this one open! Husband got a flat white and enjoyed it as well. We'll be back!

Dependable Coastal Coffee Haven with Great Vibes Kraken Coffee Company is a reliable morning (or afternoon) anchor during any stay at Avila Village Inn--right on Front Street with that prime ocean proximity, making it easy to swing by after the Bob Jones Trail or before heading to the beach. We stopped in multiple times on our recent trip: once for a quick mocha and vegan burrito mid-morning, another for nitro cold brew and a scoop of Batch ice cream to cap a hot-tub day. The coffee is consistently strong and well-crafted--rich lattes, flavorful chai (the Dirty Kraken Chai stands out with its spiced depth), and nitro options that feel refreshing on warmer days. The vegan burrito is hearty and fresh, packed with good ingredients without being heavy, and the ice cream scoops (from their sibling Batch) add a nice sweet touch when you want something cooler than Hula Hut's denser offerings. The pirate-ship-inspired interior is charming--nautical without overdoing it, with upstairs loft seating that gives a nice overlook of the baristas and Front Street bustle. Outdoor benches catch the ocean breeze perfectly, and the staff are friendly, quick, and patient even during busier beach crowds. It earns solid marks for convenience and quality in a casual setting--pairs beautifully with your trail routine or as a low-key pick-me-up. Only reason it's not a full 5: portions on some items (like the burrito) can feel a touch modest for the price, and on peak weekends the line moves steadily but not lightning-fast. Still, for expertly made drinks, solid eats, and that effortless beach-town atmosphere, it's a keeper we'll keep hitting on future Avila escapes. Highly recommended if you're craving quality coffee without leaving the promenade vibe. It slots right into the itinerary without missing a beat.

One of the best views I've ever enjoyed with a cup of coffee. This spot has become a must-visit every time I'm near Avila Beach. You get beautiful ocean views, easy beach access, and solid coffee. The interior is rustic and cozy, and there's an upstairs seating area if the ocean breeze isn't your thing. They offer a nice variety of coffees and pastries, and the servers are incredibly kind and happy to make recommendations. I went with my classic iced vanilla latte. The ice can make it a bit watery over time, but honestly, I don't mind too much. Afterward, you can lounge by the beach, listen to the waves, and sip your drink. You really can't beat that. There are also plenty of nearby shops to explore, making the whole area feel lively yet peaceful. It's a truly scenic spot that I'd absolutely recommend taking the time to enjoy.

This is a great little place to stop off for a coffee. I had an iced Americano. What was really a surprise was the quality of their homemade ice cream. It is absolutely delicious. Service is very friendly and cool! Also, they have a nice little mezzanine inside with some tables upstairs.

Great spot to grab a good cup of coffee and walk across the street for a fantastic view. The fresh pastries were delicious and a perfect accompaniment to my coffee. Perfect way to start the morning

Such a hidden gem near the coastal beach! The view is absolutely breathtaking and perfect for a leisurely coffee-in-hand stroll! The way the sunlight dances on the water creates a mesmerizing panorama that changes throughout the day. The gentle sound of waves crashing against the shore provides a soothing soundtrack to complement the stunning scenery.

Been coming here for years. The staff are always pleasant & welcoming & the coffee is always on point. Quiet place to hang out & enjoy the scenery.

    Big Plants over doorway

Coffee - excellent Service - wonderful View of beautiful ocean and pier - poor Why? Because management decided to put big green plants to block half of the beautiful ocean view. And it's a safety issue because it's right over the entrance door. Solution? Remove all the plants over the door frame. Aesthetically it looks ugly. There's plenty of pretty plants all around the inside with the right size. We traveled several hours for vacation to come to this coffee place, mainly for the Full View and delicious coffee. There's plenty of beautiful green plants right outside Kraken which is the lower part of the window. We want to see the ocean and pier while drinking coffee and eating your delicious desserts!

    Vanilla matcha

Cute little coffee shop within walking distance from the beach. They have a tiny spot upstairs to sit and a couple seats out in front of the shop. I like that they have stickers, necklaces, shirts and other merchandise to purchase. So why your waiting for your drink there is plenty of things to browse. I ordered a vanilla matcha. It was delicious but I didn't taste too much vanilla.

This spot is right next to the beach so it's such a nice place to grab coffee for a beach walk. Parking is relatively easy on the sidewalk. When we went there wasn't a line. Got the Mexican mocha which had a warming spices in it! I enjoyed it overall.

The best mocha I've ever had - especially since it comes with an ocean view. The staff are so friendly and their drinks come out fast. I loved the artwork and the gifts they had for sale. I even picked up a new book for my friend while there. Love this coffee shop!

    Roobis hot tea

Great coffee cafe right next to the beach. Today it was a rainy day so perfect for a hot Roobis tea and a beach view from inside. The place has lots to choose from and great bakery items. Friendly service.

I ordered a lavender latte. It was barely warm and was too sweet. Not worth the purchase.

Great coffee in a cute seaside town. Good ambiance and great service. I had their Lavender latte twice and it was consistently good.

Bought one of the triple berry pies and apple crisps to try and they were delicious! The filling for the berry pie was really good slightly tart and sweet. If you like pie crust, the crust was well done too- flaky and crisp. The apple crisp was soooo good- the topping was really tasty and the filling was delicious. I'd go back to try their other pies and hand pies. Feeding the sheep, cow, goats and llamas $3 a head lettuce was so fun! The animals loooove eating the lettuce and it's an enjoyable experience for kids and adults alike. The fields with bales of hay to climb and pose on and also the flower fields to walk around in was also nice too! There was a hay ride, but we were not able to make it-- maybe next time. The food was just mediocre. The pulled pork sandwich had too much sauce on it and it was hard to eat because the bread just fell apart. I wish there were a little more coleslaw on top because it cut the sweetness of the sauce. Would not order again. The tritip sandwich was just okay- lots of thinly sliced meat, but flavor was just alright. Would not order again. The plain hotdog was actually pretty good- it was a big hotdog. Would probably order again for my kid haha. The highlight of the meal was the Brussels sprouts (no pecans and subbed Parmesan for the bleu cheese)! Nicely roasted and seasoned. Definitely would order again! The strawberry lemonade and the oallaberry lemonade were really good- not too sweet and very fruity. Definitely would order again Would definitely come back to spend a couple of hours here!
