Whenever I come on a run through Bob Jones, I have to stop for a sweet treat at Avila Market. The açaí bowls here always hit the spot and they're so beautiful. And the staff here are always so kind!

    Current menu

6 sandwiches cost $150!!! We used to love this place!! They had the best burgers and fish and chips, unfortunately under new owners they won't be offering anything but the current posted menu. Cashier said they won't be bringing anything back from the old menu stated it was, "too ordery" .... Whatever the heck that's supposed to translate too. Spend your $150 on a sit down restaurant, at least you get service. BLTA bread was so crusty and hard we had to peel half the bread off and basically ate bacon by hand and threw the slices tomato in the mouth. Had to box up our own to go order because the server couldn't figure out how to close the boxes. Place really went down hill.. won't be coming back.

They changed ownership, hardly any sandwich options. We shared a grilled chicken sandwhich but tbh it was a chicken burger-served on hamburger bun. When I asked for them to cut it in half(sharing with husband) the guys in back were grumpy.Cook said they had no plates either (sandwhich crammed in tiny plastic container) Sadly they don't carry my husband's Figueroa Danish Red anymore. The sandwhich was just OK,little dry.Definitely not shareable, just for one person. The staff overall standoffish. We probably wouldn't come back.

Açaí Bowl really hit the spot. Tried a protein smoothie from there too, which I would rank the açaí bowl over it. The market has some really great options. The breakfast burrito on the main floor is good, but definitely unique from the traditional one you'll get. Plenty of sneaks for hitting the road as well. Also, very clean bathrooms!

Great selection on tap for a decent price. Just sucks they hardly open the side patio anymore. Sitting here on a beautiful day baking in the hot sun because they didn't open on the side. Just lost a regular.

Absolutely delicious burgers, chicken sandwiches & tacos!!! The ownership just changed hands but the food is still amazing. They have awesome selection of snacks, candy, and coolers for reach-in drinks. The Avila burger is huge and loaded with delicious toppings. The fries are Crisp and hot. The Carnitas tacos are homemade the night before and the salsa really makes it.

What the hell happened to this place? How disappointing... what happened to not only the toppings but the fresh toppings? I'm talking about the fresh cut strawberries and pineapple... What happened to the almond butter, gogi berries, cacao nibs, and the higher quality granola... not the baked quaker oats. The strawberries and pineapple looked like they were straight from a can. I have never been to an açai bowl place where the strawberries and pineapple came from a can. As a healthy option, typically acai bowls do not come with toppings from a can. Not to mention, the peanut butter being J.I.F or Skippy? Seriously? With all the options being slimmer and MUCH lower quality... how did the size small go from $9.00 unlimited toppings to $12.50 with 3 toppings only. The entire reputation of this business has been ruined. I am so disappointed. The gal working was really sweet and helpful but i will not be back here.

Unfortunately, my first dine-in experience since then was really disappointing. The fettuccine Alfredo was just okay, and I definitely wouldn't recommend the steamed clams. But what really ruined the experience was the bartender. I was standing in line at the bar waiting to order a drink. When it was finally my turn, the bartender took the order of someone who had arrived after me but was already seated at the bar. At first, I didn't think much of it. I assumed customers who were already seated were being served first, so I just waited. Then, a white woman who had been standing in line behind me sat down at the bar. The bartender skipped me again and took her order instead. Thankfully, she immediately pointed out that I had been ahead of her and had been waiting first. The bartender eventually took my order, but his attitude toward me was extremely cold and unfriendly. I don't want to jump to conclusions, but after being passed over twice, I couldn't help but wonder if race had something to do with it. That's what made the experience especially disappointing. I've been a longtime customer and have always enjoyed stopping here whenever I'm in Avila Beach. Unfortunately, after this experience, I'll think twice before coming back.

The way it works is you order at the bar, and then they will take down your phone number to text when your order is ready. However, it seemed like they were more using the loud speaker because I didn't receive the text until 9:57pm that night. My order was ready at 6:53, so we were looking at about a 23 minute wait - which I think is fair given how busy it was. The food itself was just okay to me. I didn't think it was anything to write home about, but that could be because I had some really great tri tip at the SLO Farmer's Market the day before. However, I will say, I really liked this place for the environment. There was live music, and a lot of table and chairs to just look out at the water and just enjoy the views. It was super family friendly, and I found it to be really enjoyable to just sit and hang out. I did find it odd that they close early (8pm) on a Friday night. At 7:59pm, the employees will come up to you to let you know that they close at 8pm, so it seems like they are strict about that.

Bought one of the triple berry pies and apple crisps to try and they were delicious! The filling for the berry pie was really good slightly tart and sweet. If you like pie crust, the crust was well done too- flaky and crisp. The apple crisp was soooo good- the topping was really tasty and the filling was delicious. I'd go back to try their other pies and hand pies. Feeding the sheep, cow, goats and llamas $3 a head lettuce was so fun! The animals loooove eating the lettuce and it's an enjoyable experience for kids and adults alike. The fields with bales of hay to climb and pose on and also the flower fields to walk around in was also nice too! There was a hay ride, but we were not able to make it-- maybe next time. The food was just mediocre. The pulled pork sandwich had too much sauce on it and it was hard to eat because the bread just fell apart. I wish there were a little more coleslaw on top because it cut the sweetness of the sauce. Would not order again. The tritip sandwich was just okay- lots of thinly sliced meat, but flavor was just alright. Would not order again. The plain hotdog was actually pretty good- it was a big hotdog. Would probably order again for my kid haha. The highlight of the meal was the Brussels sprouts (no pecans and subbed Parmesan for the bleu cheese)! Nicely roasted and seasoned. Definitely would order again! The strawberry lemonade and the oallaberry lemonade were really good- not too sweet and very fruity. Definitely would order again Would definitely come back to spend a couple of hours here!

They accommodated making my breakfast right at the end of their breakfast service and held it for me while I finished my massage at the spa, which I truly appreciated because I was really craving breakfast and not lunch! The hollandaise sauce itself was actually great--very creamy with good flavor--but it couldn't save the crab cakes. I honestly couldn't tell what was in the cakes; they just tasted fried, like potatoes, and I couldn't detect any crab flavor at all.As for the sides, the hash browns had a perfect texture--wonderfully crispy on the outside and soft in the center--but they were completely missing any salt or seasoning and had no flavor. Great service, but the kitchen needs to step up the seasoning and actual crab content for the price.
