When I questioned the charges he became impatient, complained about how busy he was, and threatened to walk off the job. A capacitor failure does not cause refrigerant loss -- those are unrelated systems. More concerning: my 2-ton unit holds 3-4 lbs of R-410A from the factory. The attitude was unprofessional and the charges appear inflated. Get a second opinion before authorizing any major work with this company.

I called Prime Time Heating & Cooling instead and it was $69 for the service charge and they came out within the hour to fix everything. AAC, this is a poor poor way to treat people who are in need knowing they need heat on a cold winter's day. Be careful of these guys everyone.

Sul Salam was the technician who came to my home to address the issue with my furnace. He was incredibly friendly and professional. He identified the issue with my furnace right away. When my home warranty company tried to give him the run around over the phone, he was very persistent and advocated that they cover the visit (which they ended up doing, thanks to him). It didn't take him long at all to diagnose and fix the problem with my furnace, and he actually spent the vast majority of his visit on the phone with the warranty company. He didn't charge me for the extra time it took to ensure that the warranty company covered the repairs. If I ever have any other heating issues, I will definitely give AAC Services a call, and I will request Sul Salam by name. I highly recommend this company.

Matt, apparently the owner of the company, came a few minutes after the end of that window, a couple minutes after 4:00 p.m. (BTW, he smelled of pot.) When he got here, he asked what the problem was & I explained that the air conditioner wasn't working. He immediatey went to the furnace. I told him I wasn't having trouble with the furnace, it was the air conditioner. He then proceeded to tell me that they are connected, my furnace is old and inefficient, and possibly dangerous. He spent a lot of time looking at it and taking pictures. He then got a phone call and was gone for about 15 minutes. He came back and continued explaining to me about the different kinds of furnaces. I reminded him that I called him about the air conditioner. He asked what kind of thermostat I had and then he finally went to look at the air conditioner. He said that was old as well (both were probably original and from the 1970s), but he couldn't figure out when. He called someone about tracing the model, but they couldn't do it either. He then came back into the house & said he'd go into his truck and write up an estimate. An hour and a half later, I went outside to see if he was still here. All of his prices were really high. And again, it was AIR CONDITIONING repair that I contacted him about. After he asked if I had any questions, I said, "I asked you to come out because of the air conditioning. Can you do anything about it?" He huffed and went outside. He came back in after a couple minutes and said that it was the motor fan and "There's nothing I can do about, it Sweetie." :O (That was the second time he called me that!) When I asked if he had any suggestions, he said "Stay in the basement." It was not said with humor. He then asked for a check ("or an ACH") -- AND HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING except waste nearly 4 hours of my time. I had 3 other companies come out after that.
