I have eaten at this Kravers location since the opening, both dining in and take-out. At first, the food and service was great, but it seems from service and taste of food is not what it used to be. Such as not trying to close to sufficient food and service. I really had high hopes for a seafood location in West Mobile. Myself and my husband have mentioned it to the servers attention. My take-out food tonight was put together with no care. The lady for the take-out area tonight asked my husband if there was a problem with a rude tone. He told her that our take-out was put together poorly, and she just shrugged it off. No apology or offered to fix anything. I'm torn on this one. I ordered a gallon of gumbo and a caramel apple cheesecake for Thanksgiving. I picked them up Wednesday afternoon. The gumbo was delicious. Great flavor and full of shrimp. Could not have been happier. However, the cheesecake was terrible. The caramel apples on top were good. But the cheesecake itself had absolutely not flavor. Tasted as if someone had just unwrapped cream cheese and placed it on some graham crackers. No sugar, no vanilla flavoring, nothing. I don't know where they got those cakes, but they need to find a new supplier. read more

Me and my wife called on a Tuesday morning at 11.05am and ask to reserve a birthday party for 25 people on Saturday at 2.30 pm had people coming from mobile and daphne and silver hill Alabama young lady said let her check to make sure before she said OK came back to phone said all set see us Saturday afternoon at 230 pm told us to come down Leroy Stevens road because of the Christmas parade. i spoke with you on the phone at 2pm on Saturday and you told me that you didn't no anything about the party as if we did not call we did call and someone on your staff dropped the ball and then when we get there you would work us in well you worked us in 2 hrs. later.7 people left and missed their Grandmother and Great grandmothers 85th birthday party thanks to one of your workers mistake. So thanks for all your help but i will and a lot of my family will not be back to your door your lost and someone else will be glad to get our family and friends money. We have been having all our parties at your place, so you just lost a lot of money when you have 25 customers and we come to your place at least 10 times a year that a lot of funds you won't be receiving so thanks and you have a merry Christmas and happy new year Bill R read more

Please understand that this is okay seafood (would be 3 stars if the customer service wasnt factored in) however the management and staff are rude and unaccommodating. I ordered a pick 3 combo with a side salad (no bacon, I'm a pescatarian) and fried pickles. They put my fried pickles in with my other food and the person picking up my food thought they were my crab claws. When I called to inform management, I spoke to 4 different people and then James came to the phone and proceeded to yell over me. I literally only wanted a $3 refund (since that's the difference between a pick 2 & pick 3) but due to how RUDE I was treated, I determined letting a man yell at me over crab claws was not worth it. read more

Absolutely awesome!!!! From the Reds to the slaw, it was all wonderful! The new "Firecracker" shrimp are pretty freakin amazing all by themselves. The service was impeccable! The prices are not terrible. The atmosphere is very nice. It's not super loud either The portions are more than enough. My eyes were way bigger than my stomach, but I gave it a good old southern try. I went to Kravers with my husband, The restaurant was empty, sothey tried to sit me directly next to a group of 4 who had all their stuff sitting on the table. So I ask for a different table and they put me at the other end. And then they bring A family of four in (two kids which were coughing and the man kept sniffing and blowing his nose). They sat them right next to us. My husband could have reached his elbow out and touched the man. There were only three people in that entire section, there were seven tables open beside us, and plenty of other seats. I got so sick I canceled my meal and left to sit in the car. My husband stayed there and ate. When I called a few days later to let them know what happened, I spoke to a manager who clearly did not care one bit. She informed me that the CDC guidelines say they can sit customers anywhere. When I told them I would not be coming back she said that was fine have a nice day. When seafood restaurants are a dime a dozen you should treat your customers better. I will make sure to tell all my friends about my experience. I know if they treated me like that they have treated others like that. There are too many other good seafood restaurants to have to put up with their rudeness and disrespect. Not to mention it took them 20 minutes to come out and take our drink order and that was only because I went up to the manager and asked them to send somebody over. read more

The first time that my son and I went here, the food was fabulous. It was a weekday early afternoon. The red shrimp were very fresh and the "appetizer" of crawfish tails was huge. The second time was only so-so. It was much more busy, and maybe that had something to do with it. However, you would think that if it was busier, the food would seem fresher and hot. My son got the red shrimp and gave me a few. They were cold and somewhat "mealy", not peeling well. My meal was rather greasy and not to the caliber as the first time. I'm not the type to complain, unless something is really wrong. Our waitress was running around like crazy due to how busy it was, so I didn't want to add on to this and have to wait for things to be put fully to right, so we finished our dinner. The third time was much like the second. The reds were cool and mushy. Haven't been back since. We would like to have a good seafood place close, but so far, Leaver's has fallen short. read more

This is our third trip to this location. I'm extremely happy to say that the service and the food have both been great each time. One of my wife's favorite apps is the fried green tomatoes with the crawfish sauce. I usually order the seafood platter and she gets the crab claws. The parking lot is always packed, but don't be discouraged, they seat you really quick. I will eventually work my way down the menu and I'll update as I do. My husband and I came here for the first time yesterday and it was amazing! The interior of the restaurant was beautiful and bigger than what we expected. They have tv's in the areas that have sports playing. Our waitress was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. She helped us with the menu and told us what the restaurant favorites on the menu and customer favorites were. We got the fried green tomatoes with special sauce as the appetizer. They were very good and the sauce was amazing. She also brought our coleslaw out to us and it had a garlic flavor to it. It was very good, even my husband, who doesn't eat coleslaw, enjoyed it. I got the steamed red shrimp for my entrée. It came with corn and potatoes. It was so good, a little messy as expected! My husband got the pick three. There were a variety of choices to pick from with the pick three. He chose catfish, crawfish, and popcorn shrimp (all fried). He also got to choose between mild or hot on the crawfish and popcorn shrimp. For dessert we got the chocolate silk pie to share. Honestly the pie was so good we could have each had a slice! An experience I won't soon forget (sadly). After arriving, James, the manager, approached our party rudely informing us that we had to cram into tables that did not accommodate our party, stating he has another party of 25 he had to seat so we had to vacate one of our tables. He was overly aggressive and disrespectful in front of everyone. However, we did as he asked, & crammed into the other tables (getting our own chairs as he continued to behave aggressively). 3 separate families were seated (not a party as he stated) & an entire table was left empty for the whole 2 1/2 hours we HAD to be there. After TWO HOURS half of our party still had not gotten their food & asked to speak with the manager. At this point, those that had not received their food, but encountered James' rude behavior, was understandably aggravated and attempted to voice their frustration to him. James proceeded get in their face screaming AT THE CUSTOMER!!! Not once attempting to offer an apology or a resolution. I've never in my life witnessed such aggressive, arrogant, rude, and trashy behavior before, much less from "management". But after reading the passive aggressive responses from the "business manager" on reviews that weren't 5 stars, I see where James received his training. All of the replies on those reviews from the "business manager" state that the customer should've "said something when they were there". BE AWARE, IF U SAY ANYTHING WHILE U ARE AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT, YOU WILL BE MET WITH AGGRESSIVE AND HOSTILE BEHAVIOR!!! Save ur money and go to ANY other restaurant in Mobile where at least u know u won't be treated poorly. read more

I do not recommend bringing a large party here. They're not set up for it. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait and it was over an hour only to be seated at 2 separate tables. They ran out of coleslaw by 2:00. We were told we would be given extra hush puppies in its place That apparently means 2 hush puppies total. Not at all satisfied with this experience. Waitstaff was more interested in cleaning around us (not our tables, just the empty tables around us) than in taking care of us. Then they added a 20% tip on the check that wasn't labeled as a tip. This is my favorite seafood restaurant in town! The waitstaff is friendly and very accommodating. The coleslaw was the best I've had and the 'popcorn' shrimp were the largest I've ever seen. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER WILL I EVER RETURN TO KRAVERS AGAIN...EVER! Why? On our recent experience at Kravers II, we arrived at the restaurant during peak hours. Being told there was a 20-40 minute wait wasn't unbelievable. As we sat at the entrance watching patrons come and go, several families with the same size party as ours put their names on the wait list. About 15 mins in, a party of 3 (same size as ours) sat immediately in front of us, at the entrance, was told their table was ready. They'd only been there about 10 minutes. (Wait, what just happened?) When I asked the hostess why they were seated first, she explained that our table was being cleaned and we were Next. But that didn't explain why they were seated first - after all, we had the same size party. No answer was offered. Since we were Next, I went back to my party at the entrance. The hostess then called 4 more families, all of which also arrived after us. Now, I'm perplexed. Returning to the stand, the hostess again told us we were Next. As I tried to get an understanding about the sequence of seating, she showed me the wait list - our name was near the top with a NUMBER "assigned" to it. The names of guests seated were crossed out. I saw that she wasn't going down the list on a first-come, first-serve basis- she was skipping around the list. Just then, the manager arrived. Surely he would offer clarity and this horrible misunderstanding would be resolved. Instead, after I explained my concern, he replied that the hostess "already told me" we were Next and when our "assigned" seat was ready, we would be called and seated. Assigned seat??? What? Why and how were seats being "assigned" in a restaurant. Still trying to process the conversion, the hostess called our name. My instincts told me to click my heels and leave, but I had my elderly mother-in-law with me and she was hungry. When we were seated, I noticed that 99% of the African American guests were herded into one space with three tables in the immediate area where non- African American guests were seated. We ordered, but I didnt eat. Instead, I watched the room. To my horror, when African American guests got up from a table, a new African American family was seated in the same spot. The same was true for the tables where non African Americans were seated. Could this be true? Was I really watching the "assigned" seating system at Kravers II in action? I pointed out my observations to my husband. To prove my point, I mapped the room for guest seating on a piece of paper - "B" denoted the "assigned" seats for African American; "O" for all others. Sure enough, the pattern didn't change the entire time we were there. We watched some tables turn over three times. No matter who got up, people ONLY of the same race replaced them. When we left, the manager thanked each guest for coming. To us, he said nothing - instead, he glared. So, how was the food? Who knows - straight in the garbage it went. To the owners of Kravers- believe it or not, it's 2018. You should be ashamed of your modern-day segregation system. read more

Meh. Been there done that. I can't help but feel like this restaurant is torn between wanting to be a date night establishment or a sports bar. There were a ton of tvs. The decor is nice and slightly country chic. I loved the actual table we sat at. I told my husband I want one that is similar. I wouldn't mind going back at night to see if the restaurant becomes more romantic. All of the finishes in the building are right on trend. We were there at lunch time, and the lights seemed very bright inside. The food was good, but nothing stood out. You could find the same food and menu at every seafood restaurant in Mobile. We asked the waitress what she would suggest and she suggested the fried shrimp. There is nothing wrong with fried shrimp, but just further points out to me that this restaurant doesn't have a speciality. The portions are large so you could get away with sharing and still leave stuffed. Even the kids meals were large, so two kids just order one meal. . My husband ordered a cup of gumbo. It was ok, it is one of those greasy watery ones. As discussed in earlier reviews gumbo preferences vary and I prefer mine with more of a gravy texture. Overall, I probably wouldn't recommend Kravers to someone else, but if I knew someone was already going there I would say "Oh, it is good." The restaurant is relatively new and I think it is just trying to find its direction. It has a ton of potential. It is one of the only non chain restaurants on this side of Mobile that isn't a hole in the wall. I have no doubt in a year or two it will be a top restaurant. read more

Amazing. We've been multiple times. Never had a bad meal or experience. Complimentary coleslaw is delicious, prices are reasonable, and food is fantastic. The fried green tomatoes are a great way to start your meal, and I've ordered a cup of gumbo the past two times we went, was very good both times. I use a lot of cocktail sauce when eating shrimp so them having bottles of sauces on the table is a great idea. Decor is very pretty, restaurant is clean and the staff is very friendly. Soooooo...I was wanting a 'gumbo fix' and my wonderful hubby searched for good gumbo in the area. He came across Kravers and said this place has pretty good reviews. We were on our annual spring break road trip to Disney and staying overnight in Mobile. Why not try something new? So glad we did! The reviews my husband read were not 'fake news'. That gumbo satisfied my 'fix'. Satisfied so much I ordered a bowl to go and will be stopping back through on our way back home to Houston. My husband and daughter had the catfish and according to them it scratched an itch they didn't know they had! Our waitress for the evening was just as delightful as the food. Ms Joanne was a hoot! So very professional with that touch of southern hospitality. She is a comedian in her own right. We are so pleased to add this to our 'must stop' road trip list. read more

Excellent every time we eat from here- usually take out, but always good! The guys get shrimp in all different forms and its always fresh. The onion rings are fantastic- I make a veggie plate out of them with the fried okra and coleslaw. We even get sweet potato fries so the dogs get a little snack when we eat.
