We previously had good visits with this restaurant, those times the food, drink, and service was perfect. We were here a week ago for our anniversary and it was not the same. The restaurant was clean upon arrival, and seemed to be a normal night for this restaurant even had the piano playing in the background. That's all when things started to snowball, upon being greeted at the hostess desk we were invited to help ourselves to a seat at the bar as they would be with us in a few moments. We had a reservation so this was odd but ok. They came back and just pointed us to a table from the bar. Waited a good while to finally get our drink order taken. Mine came quickly the misses had to wait for a good while for hers which was disappointing as we were already previously seated at the bar where we were pointed to help ourselves to a table. She said something about her water being off flavored and shortly after noticed a chunk of something stuck to the inside of her water cup. We decided to order an appetizer of the bacon jam toast thing as it was obvious at this point the staff was struggling to keep up with all the tables and they needed a moment to regroup before placing a whole meal order. The appetizer was great delicious and left us wanting more. We then ordered our steaks mashed potatoes and tried the lobster mac. All of that tasted great also. We were questioning each other where the lobster was in the mac and overheard the waitstaff talking to what sounded like a regular that they ran out of lobster. (They told them to enjoy a round of drinks on them someone was already running to get more). We finished with desert as it was our anniversary the peanut butter cheesecake. Upon arriving at the table it looked as though it had fingerprints on the side like someone used their fingers to place it on the plate. We ate it and again was very good rich and had a great flavor. You probably would ask yourself if we told them any of these things, they apologized for wait to be seated, apologized for the service several times stating "there's a few large groups in back" on their own. Replaced the water cup and said sorry about that. They knew they were out of lobster and tried to pull one more dish before getting more. Lastly we were done when desert came and just wanted to leave. Definitely not going back here anytime soon! read more

First visit. All I can say is very disappointing. I had high expectations. I had one cocktail and was charged an extra $3.50 for ice. We had a crap cake appetizer and virtually no crab, just breading. I can't recommend and I see no reason to visit again. read more

We were given a gift certificate here so we came to check it out. A small 10(?) table restaurant in downtown West Bend, it has a nice cozy feel. The ambiance was nice and the service was outstanding! Food: Appetizer: Calamari - pretty basic here, very similar what you get at other restaurants Salad: Caesar Salad - I felt it was underdressed. The anchovies was the saving grace for this salad. Caprese Salad - could have used more basil. Sides: Lobster Mac n Cheese - outstanding! A little pricey but one of the best things we had this night. Asparagus - When I see it's grilled I expect crispy tops, these felt like they were kissed by the grill. Main: Dry Aged Rib Eye with Bleu cheese topping - This was great! Cooked perfectly, seasoned well, tender. 10oz Filet with wild mushrooms - wifey said it was outstanding, cooked and seasoned well. The mushrooms were good but they were marinated button mushrooms... not the wild mix we would expect. Overall Experience: Our server Addie was amazing. Especially given the waitresses did it all... get drinks, take orders, bus tables... she was able to provide awesome service. The bar selection, for me, horrible. Beer selection was 2 Macro beers and 2 Lakefront beers. Bourbon selection, Woodford and something else I don't remember... nothing for me. My wife enjoyed the wine selection though. Would we go back? I can't believe this place doesn't have a higher rating! We come here multiple times a year to celebrate special occasions. It's very high end like a steakhouse in a major city, but better! The owner is the chef and does it all on his own. We celebrate birthdays and valentines days here! The food always comes out quickly and never disappoints. I've always gotten the filet with scallops. We love their crab cakes as an app. They had strawberry creme brulee for the longest time and now it's lemon lime. To die for!! My husband said it's the best ribeye he's ever had. More people need to know about this gem of a restaurant! They also expanded and there is a back patio. And I believe they still have piano music some nights. read more

We wanted a special restaurant for our daughter's grad school graduation and Krimmer's did not disappoint. Jack was our server and he was very attentive without hovering. He did a great job. The food was amazing. Steaks cooked perfectly and scallops were amazing, nice sized with a great sear and so tender. One of the salmon entrees was on the rarer side but delicious with the mango salsa. We ordered one of each side for the table and they also were very tasty and perfectly sized to share. We had the whole back room to ourselves. This place is a hidden gem. It was sad that there weren't more people there on a Saturday night. Such a beautiful little steakhouse in downtown West Bend. We ordered the filet medium and the dry aged ribeye medium. The ribeye was cooked perfectly the filet was closer to well done. The sides were delicious. Garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus, wonderful. The lobster Mac and cheese was good however the lobster was closer to non existent. All in all, a great place downtown, however for the limited menu I would have expected a more thoughtful, rich ingredient tasting experience and preparation time. read more

We were there for my husband's birthday this evening. Our food was outstanding! Our waitress was amazing. Superwoman this evening. We had the scallops for appetizer. So tender and delicious. Followed by clam chowder. I had the Au Poivre and he had the dry aged bone in ribeye. Amazing! we both had the mixed greens salad yum! Dessert was the bomb. It's disappointing they didn't require masks fir the patrons but for even the staff to not wear masks inside was troubling. Quite torn between 4 or 5 stars. West Bend is our home town and I have heard nothing but good things about Krimmers and on our first visit we were not dissapointed. We dined on a Friday night with reservations for two at 7pm. We arrived a few minutes early and were surprised to find open tables on a Friday night. Our table was not quite ready which was fine as it afforded a little time to review the wine offerings. My wife and I each ordered the dry rub ribeye. Each side is alacarte but each side is enough for two people. We ordered sides of mashed potatoes and mushrooms. The steaks were very tender and flavorful. I think I was expecting a little more of that melt in your mouth flavor but the steak as prepared did not dissapoint. The servers were very attentive and were sure to see that our glasses of wine & water remained full. When I made my reservation the person on the phone inquired if we were celebrating a special occasion. It was my wifes birthday and I advised this fact. I was somewhat dissapointed that at no point during our visit did anyone acknowledge the birthday. If you aren't going to recognize the events your patrons are celebrating, why ask at the time the reservation is made. Krimmers is fine dining but at close to $200 for two dinners, one bottle of wine & tip it sure better be. Krimmers is a definite oddity in relation to the typical West Bend restaurant. We will return, but they certainly will need much more than the 1-2 times per year we will visit to make a go of it. read more

Be careful! I went to Kimmer's for the first time on Wednesday night and was horrified to see none of the servers or anyone working the bar were wearing masks! There is no outdoor seating and nowhere else my date and I could get in. Tables were spaced a few feet apart but when I asked the server why she was not wearing a mask, she said the owners said they didn't have to. I was appalled! Do they know there's a pandemic? I took a calculated risk by going out to dinner in the first place (which I never do given the pandemic) but my assumption was this well rated restaurant would follow the proper guidelines but clearly they don't. Brought a colleague here on Wednesday night and our server was fantastic. She explained the menu to us, what her favorite items are, how the food is prepared and descriptions on the wine selections. We each had a glass of wine, shared the calamari (whatever the lemon sauce is they serve on the bottom of the plate is delightful), shared the lobster mac & cheese and I had the sea bass and she had a filet. We could not stop talking about how good the food was. The sea bass is probably the best piece of fish I've ever eaten. As my luck would have it, my boss had planned a dinner for our group outing to be here last night as well! Again we had calamari and I had the sea bass, but we also had the steak forks (truly is a piece of steak on a fork), and oysters on a half shell and oysters Rockefeller. There is no comparison to the quality, creativity, and taste of the food we enjoyed at Krimmer's. Appetizers are decadent and delicious, especially the Oysters Rockefeller, creamed corn with bacon, and tempura asparagus. The filet was very good, and the sea bass was exceptional. Even the chopped salad, which is included in the entrees, is very good. Atmosphere and service are great - the mater dei of the house keeps everything running smoothly. The best deal in the area is the $25 Monday Night special of salad/ salad , and entree and a desert . The chopped salad and wedge salad are both excellent And your choices of Steak , Salmon or Chicken are all perfectly done . Also waited a very long time to place our order, people who sat down after us were waited on before us. My grilled lobster tail was great and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his lamb chops. We shared creamed corn which was extremely flavorful and tempura asparagus which was delicious if a little oil. It is too bad the acoustics marred the experience for us. In addition if you are vegetarian there are limited choices on the menu and no entrees whatsoever that are meatless. My niece ordered the lobster mac side with no lobster but it's made with a lobster base so they suggested the mac and cheese from the kids menu, which my niece found overly cheesy, if there is such a thing. Overall, left really disappointed for the amount of money we paid for our meal here. It took forever to get drinks and between each course. I mean FOREVER. Don't get me wrong - We weren't in a rush. It was a celebratory birthday meal meant to be enjoyed and savored... but the wait was ridiculous. Our party of 4 was literally worn out from waiting by the time we paid the bill 2 hours later and took our desserts to go. Our steaks were well seasoned but dry (even the 'med rare' one).... which wasn't medium rare. They ran out of potatoes, which 3 of us and several people at other tables had ordered and we had to substitute for asparagus/corn. (How the heck do you run out of potatoes? They're seriously the cheapest thing to make!) We had started the meal with high hopes... the appetizers and soups were delicious. Would not recommend this restaurant. Had 5:30 reservations for a b-day dinner with my husband. Seated in the restaurant and ordered cocktails. Both were wrong but were replaced. Ordered dinner and the salad came 2 minutes after we got our replacement drinks. A party of 16 was seated in the small intimate restaurant and we could not talk across the table. We asked to be moved and we were told that we could move to the patio. 30 minutes later, the waiter dropped our food off. We had no knives, napkins, water and the bottle of wine we had ordered. The waiter apologized and said he would be right back. We watched our steaks get cold as we did not have a knife to cut them. I got up to see if I could get 2 knives and the waiter was taking the order from the table of 16. When he did return, we asked for our meals to be boxed to go. Paid full price for the dinners but we're not charged for the 2 cocktails and the bottle of wine we did not receive. Warmed up $136 worth of food at home. read more

This caught my attention because I wanted to have a special evening with my wife despite the lockdown, and support a local restaurant. well used to be my favorite restaurant.... everything was great until we got to the desert ordered the cream Brulé and it literally came out GREY!!! I took a bite it was so sour I had to spit it out!!! I sent it back and said it was old the waitress came back and told me the cook had said the mini strawberry on top caused the crème brûlée to turn gray... and sour too? We had reservations for 7pm on Saturday night. This was our first time here. It took forever for our waitress, Heather, to wait on us. She finally took our order. I ordered the filet and my husband the ribeye. She did not offer us any sides, so I asked, and was told that all sides were ala carte. With the steaks being in the high $30, it is ridiculous to charge $6 for mashed potatoes. Steaks came plain on the plate. I asked our waitress if there were some sauces we could have. She said "Oh, you would've had to ask for those". How would we know that? 5 minutes later our sauces came. My steak was overcooked and had an odd lemon flavor. The texture of the filet was almost mealy. It was a very poor cut of beef. Husband thought his ribeye was ok. Our dinner cost $105 and the whole experience was sub-par. We asked to speak to the manger who was apologetic, but did nothing to compensate us. FYI: I was informed that they rub their steaks with a lemon rub. Yuck. It was very weird. We have gladly paid over $100 for steak dinners in the the past, Mr. B's, 5 O'Clock Steak House, Palmer's ect.......We left those placed feeling like the food was well worth the money. We left Krimmer's feeling ripped off and hungry. Do not waste your time or money on this place. read more

The table tried various appetizers and vaious dishes from the Bison steak (I would highly recommend), lamb chops, scallops, salmon, and the liver dish. Everyone had high praises for their meal.
