I gave my wife a choice of two places we could try in the Cedarburg/Grafton area on a Friday night and C. Wiesler's Saloon was the one she picked. I got the beer battered haddock with potato pancakes and both my wife and kids all got plain cheeseburgers with fries. We also shared mozzarella sticks and cheese curds. The mozzarella sticks are generic and taste like the kind you can get from Arby's or Walmart's hot deli bar. The cheese curds were also generic, but good. Both are cheap price wise compared to other restaurants, but you subsequently don't get a ton of curds given the low price. Six mozzarella sticks wasn't unreasonable. The cheeseburger was ok. It didn't have much, if any, seasoning, but at least had some char flavor. The fries weren't very crispy and were both bland and unsalted. The beer battered haddock (which I sadly forgot to take a picture of) only had two pieces for $15 and was some of the most disappointing fish I've had. I didn't care for the flavor of the breading and it was overcooked, so the breading was slightly burned and the fish was dry. The potato pancakes consisted of five or six small hashbrown circles. Though small, they were good. They were quite busy inside while we were there, so it took about 45 minutes to get our appetizers and an hour to get our entrees. The patio area is nice and offers shade in the evening. It was a cool night temperature wise, so a pleasant experience during our long wait. We stopped here for dinner while walking around and were pulled in due to their outdoor patio which had shade and looked like a good spot in this COVID environment. Realizing this is a bar with some food, I was still expecting a bit more, especially given the ratings here. The service was very mediocre and not friendly. Started with pickle chips which seem to have been breaded with concrete before frying. Not appetizing at all. It was Friday, so I had the haddock fish fry, which was decent. Washed this all down with a spotted cow. I had originally wanted a bloody mary, but when I asked the server how their bloody's were, she said they use a mix and garnish with an olive. Lame, but at least she was honest. Overall meh. Not worth coming back. read more

This must be husband /wife owner operated...just can't believe how bad this place is on service and courtesy. Bartender talks to you like you are garbage, and fish fry is always 40-55 minutes to get, and usually they are out of fish by 6:30. THAT'S RIGHT...FRIDAY NIGHT @ 6:30....OUT OF FISH....UNBELIEVABLE. Nice little place with a very good cheeseburger. Liked the free candy bar with the bill! Outdoor seating available along the street.

This place is more than your run of the mill bar when it comes to beer. When it comes to food it falls a bit flat - sub par, greasy bar food. The bar tender was nice with our larger group at the bar, let me taste the 15 or so beers on tap, and always kept my glass full. The beer list continues to the right of the bar that shows the bottoms that are constantly changing. I will give you all an update when I go back during warmer weather to enjoy their HUGE patio and live bands. I am sure it is a completely different place than the smaller bar and few table eating place it is during winter. read more

We've been to the bar several times over the years and every time we are left disappointed... mainly in the service at the bar. The owner is often times behind the bar and it's easy to get the sense that he really doesn't want to be there and seems sometimes he'd prefer there not to be customers there either because it's an inconvenience for him. Kind of crazy! It is an old charming bar and could be doing so much better with a pleasant attitude in management. Not reviewing the food here because the one time we had lunch there years ago we decided that there's much better places to eat at in the area. read more

When we entered we were treated by a not so pleasant waitress. She seem irritated when we asked if we could sit inside. She seemed even more annoyed when we asked for suggestions on what's a favorite item to order. She barely spoke to us, and the food was good but basic. Had lunch here on a Monday and it was excellent. Not very busy on the patio, but the service was great. Standard Pub 'n' Grub fare but its tasty and you get it hot. I can't speak for the inside as I was outside the whole time. Great place for lunch in the summer. read more

This was a random stop on out way into town and we are happy to have found it. The patio was very pleasant on a gorgeous spring day. They had a nice beer selection and the good was tasty. I had a pork shoulder sandwich - not BBQ like I expected but so good. My wife had a turkey burger that was huge and really well seasoned. To top it off, very friendly service. This is my favorite restaurant in Cedarburg. Our waitress was super nice and catered to our every need. We had the Friday fish fry which was outstanding. This is a small restaurant so I would recommend getting there early, but in the end it is worth it. This restaurant is also pretty kid friendly. I never write reviews, but something needs to be said. This was literally the worst dinning experience I've ever had. The waitress was rude, unprofessional and not kind. She tried putting an 18% tip on our bill with very poor service. When we asked her to remove it she started making snobby comment and being very rude. When we brought the bill to the bar the bartenders were also making rude comments. I believe our waitress and the bartender were husband and wife? I will never be back. First and probably last time I write a review for a restaurant, but this is the worst I've seen. read more

Went inside to use the bathroom quick, waitress and owner were very rude. Said the bathroom was for paying patrons only. Wasn't making any loud noises or being rude, only there for 2 minutes. We went here for lunch on a Saturday at about 12:45, surprisingly when we walked in the place was very quite. There were four people at the bar and none of the tables were occupied, i guess there could have been more customers on the patio. We were told to sit where ever we liked so we grabbed a table and waited a few minutes for someone to come over and get our drink order. After our drinks were brought out we ordered our food, since then two other separate parties had taken a couple of tables. About 25 minutes after giving our order we still hadn't received our food and i hear the couple sitting behind me ask when their food was going to be sent out. The waitress politely told them that their food was about to come right out so I thought since we were there before them our food would probably be coming out pretty quick, but I was wrong. After waiting a total of 45 minutes since we made our order I went and told the waitress we couldn't wait any longer because we had somewhere to be, I tried to pay for the drinks but she said to not worry about it because the food wasn't out in a timely manner. Was on Friday the 3rd of July - on Friday they close from 2pm to 3:30pm - so I called about 1:30 and asked if it was ok if we came in and ate. The man I spoke to said absolutely, it was a crazy kind of day and they probably weren't closing at 2pm anyways. When we got there the rest of the staff was very rude and we were told "you know we close at 2pm right?" - and then another table walked in about 5 minutes after us and they were told "can you order in a hurry please we close" - mind you the patio was full - there was a table of 4 inside and 7 people including us at the bar. Just not a good way to do business. They don't serve their Friday fish fry during Friday lunch - probably the only restaurant that doesn't - so one of the people in our party didn't eat and that is what I wanted to try because I've heard good things about it. We each had a panini sandwich - both were good, decent size portions. But I can't get over the rude servers and the slow service (the people next to us waited over 5 minutes for a drink) - we may try it again. But I'm thinking on a holiday weekend you should probably re think your Friday hours since most people don't work that day or at least close the kitchen at 1:30 if you want to throw everyone out at 2pm :) read more
