Such a cute and fun place! I mean, there are great donuts so who cares about the atmosphere right? But this place was vintage and seemed like a great place to grab donuts and coffee and chill and a great spot for photos. We got here and it wasn't busy at all. Just a couple ahead of us and it went by quick. We got assorted donuts and both our favorite was the strawberry iced (the ring looking donut) with the strawberry filling in the middle.. so good! We were on our way home from a trip up north and decided to stop. This place wasn't hard to find with the giant vintage sign. Associates were friendly and very helpful at giving us tips on the best way to order for the best price. Only thing is I wanted an Oreo drink and the cashier guy was new and didn't know how to make it, so he mentioned that he could go back and ask someone how to. They seemed busy in the back so I didn't want to bother. But that was no big deal. I will for sure come back again if I every pass through! read more

This location is so bad. Stopped in to get a dozen filled donuts, they had 4 flavors of filled and duplicates of the sale in half the shelves. The staff acted like the customers were bothering them. When I placed my order the guy gave me HALF of what I asked for then just stuck whatever he wanted into the box. Didnt find this out till I arrived at work since just looking at them was impossible to tell since they were all glazed no powered at all. Half was glazed donuts and this cost me $15. I asked if they had any other donuts like the flavors they advertised and was told, "Dats all we got". This shop is nothing but a ghetto stand these days and I wont be going back anytime soon. read more

The front line folks behind the counter were very friendly and polite, so points for that -- but the service is extremely slow. I work for a non-profit agency - when we purchase doughnut, it's usually several dozen at a time. Getting so many doughnut at once usually depletes their supply, so they've asked me to order a few days in advance. They said ordering 10 dozen in advance also gets us a 25% discount on the purchase. We were doing a special Christmas Worship service for the kids and their families. We thought a reception with coffee and doughnuts afterward would be a nice treat. I made a special trip to Krispy Kreme on Wednesday evening to purchase the doughnuts in advance. At the time, they said they couldn't find an order form, so they had me write my info and order on a piece of paper. I left feeling good about saving the agency some money and having the doughnuts for the kids. On the Sunday of the service, I went to pick up my order. After standing in line for about 5 minutes, it was finally my turn. I told them I was there to pick up an order. They went to the back to look for it, the manager came out a few minutes later to tell me that they didn't have an order in the computer. She asked what I ordered and asked who took my order (like I should have kept track of the employee on Wednesday evening). She kept saying "well, it's not that I don't believe you, it's just that only a manager can take orders". I said it wasn't a big deal that they weren't ready and asked if we would still get our discount. She told me she'd have to call the General Manager to approve the discount - then she told me I'd have to stand in line again. A front line employee heard her tell me to get back in line, but knowing if already been in line, they called on me next and started gathering my doughnuts. I asked for 2 dozen "snowman" and 2 dozen "Santa". As the girl was filling my boxes, the manager stopped her, saying they didn't have enough of the special doughnuts to fill the special orders - so i couldn't have them! Being in a situation where I'd already promised my kids & their families doughnuts, i bit the bullet and selected from the doughnuts i was "allowed" to purchase. The order cost me $120, since they would not honor the 20% discount for ordering in advance!! I could not believe that they'd made the mistake and I was being punished for it. So right away I want to say I LOVE Krispy Kreme and I have gone to this location many times. Now if you look closely to the picture you will see 2 signs on the door, one is the health departments and the other a sign that management put up. The health department gave them a C rating for raw sewage, dirty equipment and lack of proper food safety knowledge. I have managed restaurants before and I can tell you that it is hard to get that bad of a score unless something very disgusting is going on. The date of inspection was a day prior to this review. So now we move onto the second sign that says they are having network issues so they will be closed. It may be some kind of crazy coincidence that the network went down the day after they got hit with a inspection that could shut them down. They may have all of the network adapters on the floor submerged in dirty water, I don't know. What I do know is the place was full of people hosing the store and equipment down. My problem is not as much with the deplorable condition the store was in but the outright lie the posted on the door. Don't blow smoke up my a** and tell me it's sunshine. Here, let me help you out. Our experience was incredibly disappointing. We went on a Saturday at noon and there were hardly any donuts available. There was apparently secret stash in the back, but no one at the front seemed to be in a rush to help us understand what we could order. Tables all had food and garbage on them. Trash cans were overflowing. No one seemed to care. And there was a huge pile of dough sitting on the floor in the kitchen. We got the eclipse chocolate glazed donuts and they were delicious! It's a limited time offer and they tasted so good. We got them fresh off the conveyor belt and ate them right away. I went to Krispy kreme donut on Shelbyville rd in Middletown. After waiting 15 min in line at drive thru no one answered intercom so i drove to the window. I ask for 3 donuts for my grandchildren in car. She said she had no order for that. I told her no one answered intercom but i just needed 3 donuts. She said I would have to go back around and leave the order. I said I'm not going back in line for another 15 min. For 3 donuts. She said "get out if line or i will call the police" i thought are you kidding? The police have time to go to Krispy kreme and manage the store. Krispy Kreme doughnuts are and always will be five stars. I was so put off by how gross the profiteering was here. We were in a rush pre-Derby so I swung by here for breakfast with one of my friends. We were in the drive-thru and I started to ask for individual doughnuts of different flavors. I had intended to pick up six or so. In a honeyed voice: "Why don't we just make that order a dozen doughnuts?" I didn't have time to protest so I defeatedly went along. Doughnuts are cheap, delicious and good at preventing hangovers. Whatever. I ordered two iced coffees as well. In an even more unctuous tone: "Can I add a cup of doughnut holes for 99 cents?" I was getting a bit suspicious at this point but managed to stay polite and declined. The bill came out to $13.13. I weakly commented on the amusing total. Manager (I think): "That's nice but why don't we make that a round sum of $14 by your donating to our blah-blah-blah charity today?" WTF. This is already so tacky and gross but you're asking me to donate all of 87 cents to charity? Could you have at least made it a tad less obvious that you were trying to steal and at least asked for a dollar? What a sham of an establishment. I am a prouder and prouder southerner as I live here and transactions like this slick, polite fleecing and backstabbing represent the worst stereotypes of the south. Sorry to be so vehement but these are the people and practices who ruin southerners' reputations outside of the region. Yelp asks you to update your reviews every once in a while. I haven't reviewed Krispy Kreme for 3 years so I guess I will step up my game Yelp. Thanks for reminding me! Krispy Kreme doughnuts are unlike any other doughnut in the world. They are true angel food. (Ok - well they would be if there were Very Fluffy angels!!) They are the white bread of doughnuts. You know what I mean. Nothing even remotely healthy about them but DANG do they taste great, all light and airy and melt in your mouth delicious. My personal favorite are the chocolate frosted (chocolate OVER the plain glaze!!) Cream filled ones. But don't get me wrong, if the HOT NOW! light is on I will be popping 3 of those bad boys in my mouth and swallowing them whole. The chocolate frosted cream filled are the ones you SAVOR, not inhale like your life depends on it. (Which of course it doesn't and donuts are not a wise choice of food except once or twice per YEAR!) (Sorry -that was the nurse practitioner in me but I had to put that out there!) I like KK over Dunkin' or other thicker brand of donuts. I always have. I feel like I may be getting more pure sugar intake with them but less carbs as a whole since they are so much lighter. (Hey, I can rationalize with the best of them!) I like that KK comes up with seasonal flavors and special flavors too. They had a salted caramel with chocolate drizzle once that was knock-your-socks-off good! TIP: If you ever have kids in tow, this is a great (and cheap) way to keep them entertained for quite a while. Krispy Kreme has a nostalgic leg up on the competition for me. Those lovely little doughnut holes have been there for me during childhood, bad breakups, slightly inebriated college nights, and terrible job interviews. So I'm biased. Krispy Kreme is my secret lover. The location is always on point. I've been here early in the morning and late at night; always a full selection, always fresh, and always yummy. They commonly have hot, glazed doughnuts available off the line and the employees are happy to serve them up. The specialty doughnuts are always fun, and no worries on them running out constantly (like other locations in town). I'm a big fan of the lemon filled glazed and the traditional glazed, though I will eat my weight in key lime pie doughnuts when they are in season. Goodbye, diet. Helloooo stretchy pants. There's a drive through for a quick trip...or if you want to hoard a dozen to yourself without being seen by the public. Chronically slow. I mean REALLY slow. 20 minutes from order until you have your food in hand. Drive-thru, dine in, everything is slow. Nobody seems to be in a hurry here! This KK location does not know the difference between custard and cream donuts. Or they do know the difference, and know that they're complete opposites, but choose to throw whatever they touch first into the bag. Custard filled donuts are the only thing delicious enough to distract you from the fact that chocolate is non negotiable in this situation. Custard is good enough to make you almost feel patriotic. I'm not sure who is managing this place but someone needs to take a long, hard look at how bad this place has gotten. Used to be my go to place, but I will never visit this location again. Donuts are cold and not the fresh ones that are famous. The pot holes alone in the drive thru need to be filled ASAP. A bag of rocks and sand would fix the problem temporarily. These holes are extremely damaging to any truck and a car would likely bottom out. The girls at the window have no clue what they're doing either. So sad. read more

At first I didn't see employees in the building but after seeing the listed hours or operations and circling the drive thru again did two employees appear. I had my graduation announcement and ID to match but they said that wasn't enough even though the website said otherwise. I rarely buy donuts but this was a special occasion because I was visiting from out of town. The donut was good but...I don't understand the concept of having multiple donuts of the same kind on display. It was very deceiving because I went to order that donut but they told me they didn't have them, even though I could see like 6 of them. If they are just for display, there needs to be a sign somewhere saying which ones are display only. How am I supposed to know which ones are just for display versus available to order? I stood in like for a long time so I had time to figure out my order, just to be told when I went to order that several of the ones I wanted were for display only.
