If you search online for the conspiracy about the shrinking of donut (and doughnut) holes over time, you'll see that Parlor has taken us to its logical conclusion, the elimination of the hole entirely. Yes, dear reader, from the robust nothingness permeating the center of these sweet breakfast treats in 1927 (go Yankees), to today, the donut hole has an inverse relationship with inflation, shrinking to nothing. As such, I think that Parlor has sold itself short by calling these "doughnuts." They've added the "ugh" back to "donuts" and called them by their full government name. But in fact, I see them more as sweet, breakfast meals. I found one surprisingly filling compared to other times I've grabbed a donut from the case and been left wanting more. There's a great selection of flavor combinations and they aren't the overly-saccharine versions you'll get at the grocery store. These have a premium taste and a premium price at $3.65 each ($2.65 each if you're buying a dozen). There are also plenty of beverage options to accompany the pastries. Coffees, frescos, and the like. Appropriately, donut holes are not on the menu because they are simply impossible with this design. The store is clean and comfortable with some nice seating and a focus on old timey games as decor. Should you be so enamored that you wish to proclaim your affection, you can also buy a diverse amount of swag to sport around town. I value places with good customer service so this is a major turn off. Despite no one ahead of me and my friend in the line, we were not greeted with a smile or any warmth by either of the workers. The person who helped us looked unhappy the whole time and when my friend wished her/the business continued success at the end, she did not respond at all even nonverbally. First time patron. Went through the drive thru mid-afternoon. Waited awhile for someone to greet me. After no response said "hello" then received a response. Ordered three donuts and a green tea. Pulled forward to the window and paid. Waited a decent time for my tea which was delivered with tea bag still in cup. Waited and waited for the three donuts. It took so long, I turned off my car as I saw little movement inside the window. Eventually I saw a worker who appeared to be adding toppings to my donuts. A bit later, the window opened and I was handed my box. I asked if this wait time was usual. I was told it was for that time of day as the donuts had to be individually made. This was a bit confusing until I actually brought the donuts home and saw the "base" was the same for all of them, but each had the "toppings" of the flavor you ordered. I assumed each top was hand applied. Though the donuts tasted great, I wasn't a fan of the core donut which had more of a solid foundation than fluffy and light. The price for the donuts was high end, but these are "gourmet" donuts so not totally out of line. Overall, would try donuts again with hope that expediency issues are resolved. Flavor is good. Nuts are everywhere for those with allergies. Would be nice to see all the nut donuts together in one case, and one case without nuts as a precaution. Not the cleanest today, flies everywhere. Had to swat them away while paying. Chocolate Chocolate donut dough was also raw in certain parts today. Not the same experience as grand opening. The doughnuts at Parlor Doughnuts are five stars, the customer service is 1 star, average leaves it at 3. The customer service experience was subpar compared to other local area bakeries with minimal assistance during the order pick up process. Additionally, doughnuts are on a first come first serve basis regardless if an online order was placed the night before. Multiple doughnuts we ordered were unavailable at the time of our pick up, with them essentially saying "it is what it is." Due to this we were sadly unable to try some of the flavors that we were most excited for, despite assuming they would be reserved for an online order that was placed beforehand. I have had better luck with the location in Jeffersonville, so the next time I decide to play roulette with the available doughnuts, I'll make the extra drive for that location. read more

Then it took 10 minutes to get 2 doughnuts. We thought this was just a one off but no. Going in isn't any better. The workers are more worried about completing their tasks than helping customers. the donut i got was absolutely delicious. however everything else was not good at all. i got a breakfast sandwich and an iced matcha. the breakfast sandwich was just dry and boring on the sourdough. and my husband said on the plain donut it was flavorless and extremely greasy. my matcha was absolutely disgusting and i threw it out after a sip. i got a brown sugar maple matcha and they made it with their blueberry matcha. that drink specifically we waited 15 minutes for. it was super sour like candy and the flavor was gross as i did not order the blueberry to begin with. and it had chunks of matcha in it. not smooth at all. great for donuts but i'd steer clear from anything else. i was super excited to try the matcha and was very let down. i'm not picky and have never wasted a drink like that, but i literally could not drink it. read more
