Terrible experience! Krispy Kreme should be ashamed ! This experience Has to be shared. at the end of the day we really were craving to get some Krispy Kreme doughnuts as a treat. I'm a business owner and was working in event and when I got off I drove 10miles to the Krispy Kreme doughnut shop for me and my 12 year old son. It was seven minutes before they closed. Just made it right. Not closing time or after closing time but before! It was 11:53 PM all the lights were on,cars in front,and I could see donuts being made by people in the back. I pulled up at the drive-through and waited for a response. I figured they might be busy or shortstaffed. I was also getting in a little texting. The next thing I hear is how can we help you? I asked for a dozen donuts and they said they we are closed. I said, "awe come on, help a mom out ...what time did you guys close? I thought you were 24 hours. And she said she closed at 12 AM and I looked at my watch and it was just 12 AM I had been sitting there for seven minutes they didn't respond until it was 12 AM and said they were closed. I asked again nicely and told him my son just wanted a couple of donuts and they said we are closed. I was so upset. I gave them a few choice words out of a rated PG-13 movie and my son who is 12 would've been proud. I never make a scene and I'm always kind, trying to set an example for kids, but that was the worst! That person does not deserve a job there. I asked them for a manager and they stopped responding. Okay do I even need to explain why this place is awesome. They have some of the best, freshest Donuts in town. I love the chocolate frosted the white icing inside. It is to die for. I also love the glazed donuts with the raspberry and the women families. They are so delicious. But the glaze Donuts are truly delightful as well. They are so soft and yummy and they just melt-in-your-mouth. Their donuts are always good. But they are best when you get them hot and fresh. They have been around since 1932 and there's a reason. It's because they are just so soft, yummy and they have so many good choices. Tonight I tried a new one called the sea salt caramel and it was pretty good. I'm a Krispy Kreme devotee for life. I remember field trips to my local KK in the DC area in elementary school, where we would learn how doughnuts are made and then get to try them. Take that Michelle Obama. This place is old and has character, like most of the standalone buildings along this part of Florida Ave. But it serves its purpose and is quite convenient for me. My wife LOVES Krispy Kreme donuts, so about once a month I go through their drive-thru and order a few for her. Almost without exception I get the same response when ordering - she mixes up the quantity or type of donuts. I always have to correct her. And whenever there's the mix-up, it's the same woman at the window every time when I'm having to correct the order! When there's no mix-up, it's a different person at the window. The handful of times I've been in this Krispy Kreme, I've found the place to be a bit drab and dull, as if time as worn the place down to a grey spot. I've had a bit of variety with the service, as well. I had a very friendly man happily give me my doughnuts with a smile sweeter than the smell in the store, and I've also had two women that seemed to feel I was an inconvenient obstacle to the money in my wallet. I think it all depends on the time of day you arrive; the earlier, the better. However, this statement brings me to my point. If you want a good doughnut early in the morning, Nicola's Donuts is a mere three minutes drive away and their doughnuts are incomparable to Krispy Kreme. So, if you need a cheap fix on donuts, go ahead and get one here. But if you want a true, good doughnut, go the extra mile (literally) and go to Nicola's down the road. I got the Jolly Rancher slushie and a doughnut from this place and it was great!!!! That slushie will make you slap somebody it is so good!!! I have had both flavors, the green apple and the watermelon. I prefer the green apple, however the watermelon is jumpin' too! It keeps me coming back time after time. So even though I'm not really supposed to have sweets, donuts always satisfy my sweet tooth. Krispy Kreme is definitely one of those spots you can go to satisfy your cravings. Locations are far and few, but definitely worth the drive especially when purchasing in bulk. I've had donuts from specialty shops and these are just as good and cheaper. Staff is always nice and prices are generally $11.99 or less for a dozen donuts. Keep an eye out for BOGO deals and other coupons. Download the app too to earn points for free and discounted products. My most recent visit did cause a loss of one star. I bought 2 dozen glazed and 1 dozen assorted. Order is bagged, paid for, and lo and behold I've got 3 dozen glazed. Not sure what happened, but they didn't bag my assorted donuts. I didn't realize this until I got home. However, I called and the manager provided me with a dozen though I had to drive back down to get them. U did very too keep the glazed so I suppose it made up for the gas and time. Outside of this slight gaffe, I'll definitely be back. If your sweet tooth is growling, don't hesitate to pick a dozen or two up. My stores hours are 6 AM to 11 PM, but check yours. I have been to this location twice because of the special flavors, but I will not be going back. Both times, the person at the window is wearing a mask under their nose. Either follow safety guidelines or don't, but don't make a mockery of it. For the drive through, I need an assorted dozen. The staff was great in making sure I got the mix of flavors I wanted, clarifying when I asked for something that could have been one of two menu items. Great attention to detail! For dine in, I noshed on a two donuts and some coffee. While this is a tiny, tiny location, it was clean and welcoming. There weren't any doughnuts in progress when I visited but the viewing windows seemed bigger than other locations I've visited and would be great fun for kids (or kids at heart) that want to watch the magic happen. This Krispy Kreme makes all the doughnuts for the Tampa area locations and all their vendors. If you are looking for made on the spot warm and delicious glazed doughnuts, you want to visit this location between 6-6:30pm any night of the week. This was the time frame the employee who helped us told us they bake the glazed goodness daily. The staff here is super friendly and always willing to go above and beyond! It's usually pretty busy, but the staff makes you feel welcome as soon as you arrive. Worst place ever!!! I will drive an hour to go to the one on Kennedy. Shantil was the one on drive thru/register. We had a brand new $15 gift card to use. I wanted to get my gf hot donuts bc the sign was on. We went out of our way to go here. We haven't had Krispy Kreme in a year. This lady first was rude over the drive thru speaker. Then she took 10 minutes on us cashing out saying we owe her money. Which we did not because we one bought one dozen. As far as I know one dozen isnt $15. She swiped our gift card twice. The first time a receipt didnt print so she did a whole other transaction. Which swiped my entire $15 gift card that I got as a gift for Christmas from one of my employees. Now i have cold donuts that were said were to be hot and had to pay money which we were not supposed to. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!
