Chicken was great! Sides were also great. The size of the chicken was freaky big. Easy to order online.

I am in the mood for fried chicken today so I dragged my friends to Krispy Krunchy Chicken for an adventure. I have prepared them in advance that KKC is inside a gas station but we were still surprised to see not one but two eateries inside the food mart. It was quite interesting to see KKC on one side and a Mexican kitchen on the other. The sign outside says 7-11 is coming soon. Can't wrap my head around on how that will rearrange things here. By the way, it is now a Shell station, not a Valero as shown in an older picture. Chicken is the most important thing to me when I come to a chicken joint. True to its name, KKC chickens are crispy, crunchy, juicy, slightly spicy, and full of flavor. I didn't ask for cajun seasoning but that's what I got. I don't think they have plain or mild chicken even if you ask. Personally I like spicy chicken so it works for me, except I would have preferred even spicier seasoning, but that's what hot sauce is for, I suppose. Since there is no table or bench to sit in/near the gas station so all orders are automatically to go. I wonder if they will put out a table or 2 after the COVID threat is lifted. read more

Every month, we celebrate our daughter's monthly birthday by eating some form of chicken. Our usual is Popeye's or El Pollo Loco but I wanted to try something different. We typed "chicken" in our trusty Yelp app and came across this Krispy Krunchy Chicken. Given that the most recent review was a year ago, my wife decided to call them: Worker: "Good morning, Veloro's gas station. How may I help you?" Wife: "Oh uhh... Good morning. Do you guys still sell Krispy Krunchy Chicken?" Worker: "Yes we do!" Wife: "How much is a 12 piece?" Worker: "$17.99" Wife: "Thank you! What time do you close?" Worker: "We don't. We are open 24/7." Wife: "Oh okay. Thank you. We will be in later." Now that we confirmed that Krispy Krunchy Chicken was still available, we hopped into the car and headed towards the ghettos of San Bernardino. We just knew we were looking for a gas station and as we veered closer, my wife saw a tiny sign for chicken. My instincts told me not to go in, but my stomach said otherwise. We walked in and were greeted by a friendly gas station worker. The food were all under a hot lamp. We perused the menu and saw that the family meal deal (consisting of a 12 piece chicken, 6 piece tenders, 6 piece honey butter biscuits, and family fries) cost about $34. We decided that we didn't need the tenders and opted for the 12 piece dark chicken, a side of Mac and cheese, family fries, and 6 piece honey butter biscuits. Unfortunately, the patron in front of us orders some kind of chicken meal and snagged a few pieces of chicken and honey butter biscuits. The worker apologized and said that we could have the remaining 2 butter biscuits on the house and the rest of the chicken even though most of them were drumsticks and not thighs. My wife was really surprised at how much he filled the bag with potato wedges. Surprisingly, the chicken thighs were nice, tender, and juicy! The drumsticks were a bit on the dry side but the Cajun flavor was there. The potato wedges were also dry (who knows how long they have been sitting under the hot lamp) but were tasty. The honey butter biscuits offered a change to the typical biscuits as they were fluffy with a honey exterior. We didn't get to try the Mac and cheese though because my daughter ate it all. Overall, the rating is for the very juicy chicken thighs, free food, and dining experience. I think if we got the food fresh, we might have a contender for a five star review! read more

The chicken is very good and they have a great selection of sides, more than most locations.

This was the most disgusting food experience I've ever had. My son wanted some chicken strips and I found this place near our hotel. When I went to order the guy at the counter was cleaning his ears with a Q-tip. No joke. After I told him what I wanted, he proceeded to clean the other ear and without gloves or washing his hands he opened the box for the strips and started putting them in. Also, there were so many flies I thought I was in a barn. I know that it is in a gas station but it should not be allowed to serve food. read more

Ok, so this isn't a restaurant. It isn't a "fast food joint". It's not a "food truck" and it's definitely not a "street vendor". It's really just a bunch of chicken that's been deep fried and put into a heated counter display at a gas station....but you'd never know it if you tasted it FRESH!!!! This chicken lives up to its name "Krispy Krunchy Chicken". I mean, it's Chicken, it's crispy, and it's definitely crunchy. How cool is that? I went with the "Cajun Tenders" (combo #10) for lunch. The first thing I noticed was the size of the chicken tenders (they are HUGE). I swear each one is about 1/4 size of an entire breast of chicken (and they give you four in the combo so you can do the math on how much chicken you get). The tenders are delightfully spicy (I tasted black pepper and what had to be cayenne pepper). The chicken was slightly greasy (but I mean, c'mon, that's what makes fried chicken GOOD, right?) and plenty juicy. The buttery biscuit they give you with the combo is great! Definitely buttery and tastes like it has been topped and baked with honey on top. Slightly sweet and plenty buttery, this is a great compliment to that slightly spicy and greasy fried chicken. Typically, chicken chain places (KFC, Churches, Popeye's, etc.) give you a side of fries with your meal to help "fill you up". Well, lemme tell you, you won't miss the side of fries from here. Chicken is expensive and really gross. You are better off going to Popeyes or KFC. The biscuits are pretty good. They brush it with a honey butter sauce which is on point. The sides are pretty blah as well. read more

The Chicken is delicious. Crunchy, hot, juicy, but not too greasy, flavorful, and just good fried chicken. This location is inside a convenience store at a Shell gas station. They have tables to sit at which were clean. The biscuits are total heaven with a honey flavor cooked into the biscuits. The Red Beans and Rice were excellent. They had a nice smokiness to them and a good blend of flavors. They also had Jambalaya. Wow. It had a little spice as if they might use real andouille sausage and maybe, but not sure some Cajun Tasso. What really stood out and they get outstanding marks for their Cajun Potato Wedges. The BEST Spiced potato wedges I have had. They were out of their mashed potatoes and gravy but I don't know if I could of eaten any if they did. If you are comparing this to KFC IT IS NOT EVEN CLOSE. Krispy Krunchy Chicken is king. Popeye's is a much better comparison. I like Popeye's spicy chicken. If the two stores were across the street from each other it would be close but I think Krispy Krunchy Chicken has better biscuits, better potato wedges, less greasy but not as spicy chicken, and good red beans and rice and Jambalaya. I do like Popeye's green beans though. It was also reasonably priced. It is a winner. read more

I have never ordered food from a gas station but the chicken was better than I thought it would be. The chicken tenders were delicious, moist and juicy. I was told about the location by a co - worker. I was leery about going to a gas station for food, but I decided to go anyway. You walk in the station, there were people asking for money, just keep going pass them. You order food at the same register as gasoline purchase, so the line might be a little long but moves fast. I ordered 4 tenders and it only came with a biscuit. The price was 5.89 plus tax I didn't like the fact that you didn't get a side for that price and that the cashier who was just handling money prior to my order now was handling my food without gloves. I believe that is not too sanitary. I won't go to that Krispy Krunch but will try another location. read more

Didn't believe gas station chicken would be good. They hooked us up with a sample and at lunch time our whole crew returned and eveyone was completely blown away at how good it was. The bisquits are AWESOME! read more

This is by far one of the best fried chicken I have ever had. It's actually sold inside of the gas station but do not be deceived by the look of the place this chicken is like the holy grail!!! I always get the family deal which is like 12 tenders, 4 biscuits, and fries which comes out to about $20 which is a steal compared to other places. The biscuits are also soft and buttery they blow KFC's out of the water and they're chicken is so juicy and delicious you can't judge a book by its cover on this one trust me just go and try it! read more

This chicken is bomb! Moist, crispy, tender, and hot...It's a lunchtime "go to" for me at least once a week. The area is better than a lot of others in San Bernardino and the service is good if you know what you want. The biscuits are the best. read more
