For gas station fried chicken, it's pretty darn good! I've had KKC before. They're pretty popular in NorCal, now in SoCal. 5.99 you get thigh, wing, leg and a handful of potato wedges. I also added a half dozen biscuits. Chicken is crispy and moist and potato wedges lightly seasoned. Biscuits, lightly buttered, crisp outer and moist inner. Squeeze a little honey on top and you'll kill em! KKC is not gourmet, but it's definitely good, basic, consistent fried chicken.

Tried this for the first time. It is definitely crispy and crunchy, with a little kick of spice. The value of this two piece box is worth it! Comes with a biscuit and a side of either red beans & rice, mashed potatoes & gravy, jambalaya, or macaroni & cheese. Cost is $7.99 for this meal. Service is great as it is located inside a Chevron gas station store.

The chicken wasn't that good here. I've had it other places and it's great usually. It was a bit dry and didn't seem fresh.

Grabbed some beignets to go, but kicking myself for not getting the peach cobbler one last time. But will miss the southern hospitality, generosity the owners Lisa & Steve have given to the community. Not just in sponsorships but in their parking lot parties which always showcased great local bands and putting on one hell of a free show for the customers! Their food was always the best this side of the Mississippi and their hospitality the same! Can't wait to see their rebranding and have the same comfort flavors of home!

A Bittersweet Farewell to a South Bay Icon! I've been coming here (well first in Hermosa then…read moretheir food truck now here) for their entire 31+ years! I couldn't let Ragin' Cajun Cafe close its current chapter without one last visit for that authentic Louisiana soul food. This place has been such a staple in Redondo Beach and South Bay and while I'm sad to see the "Cafe" era end, I'm also excited for what's next - it's sure to be a hit! What I had to say goodbye one last time!? * Seafood Bisque: This was incredibly rich and velvety, as always. You can tell they don't ever skimp on the seafood--it was packed with flavor and the perfect way to start the meal. * Hush Puppies: Golden, crispy, and exactly what a hush puppy should be. They have that slightly sweet cornmeal interior that pairs so well with their savory dishes. Always worth adding! * Combo Jambalaya Plate: A massive portion and pure comfort. The spices were spot on--bold but not overwhelming--and every bite was loaded with meat and perfectly cooked rice. My goto comfort... The Next Chapter: For anyone worried about losing these flavors: don't panic! While Ragin' Cajun is closing, the owner and chef are reopening very soon in the same spot as Redondo Beach Grill. It's the same team and the same talent, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they evolve the menu while keeping that local heart alive. Their email to followers says they will keep a few menu items as well (doesn't say which ones!?) Thank you to the entire crew for years of amazing meals and hospitality. These flavors WILL be missed!! See you at the new, well, same spot (new name and decor!?)

Attentive. Multiple kind employees checking on you during your meal. Skip the soda here: it's flat and doesn't taste right. (Management: Fix your fountain drink machine. The flavors and carbonation are off on Coke and Coke Zero). Wait time: come at opening or expect to wait 1-2 hours. You can put your name on the list and receive a text when it's ready. Recommend killing time at Del Amo mall or Tokyo central down the street. (Just give yourself time to go back before they give your table away) I wanna say this is one of the larger establishments compared to the others in OC. Lots of tables and booths, doesn't feel cramped and also clean. I was weary about the taste comparison with OC locations but glad to report it tastes the same. Thanks for opening one in Torrance.

Not sure if it was just bad luck or what, but I noticed people who arrived after us were getting seated before us, which was frustrating. If it wasn't for that, I would've easily given this place 5 stars. Once we got inside, everything changed. The service was amazing -- servers and bussers were constantly checking in, refilling drinks, and making sure we had everything we needed. Easily 10/10 service once you're seated. The food? Delicious. Seriously, no complaints there. Just a heads up: if you don't like garlic, this might not be your spot because they don't hold back. But overall, the flavors were on point and definitely worth it. They really don't have much competition in what they do. Just wish the front-of-house experience matched how great everything else was.

The music was good and sports were available if that's your thing Cons: It took 30 minutes to receive our appetizers and at that time I was told they could not fulfill a portion of my order, I withdrew my order of rice and bang bang sauce. After 30 more minutes most of our order came out with the exception of the garlic bread. I was told that it takes a significant amount of time to make and asked if i wanted something else instead. I felt an hour for two burritos was excessive so declined adding anything else. Moments later my bread appeared. It took a full hour and some change to receive our order which I thought was unreasonable, especially since at this point we were the only patrons. Overall: Food was alright, reasonably priced, and portions were aligned with the price. However, I would recommend ordering ahead or anticipate a long wait time. When we went we were one of two patrons but it seemed they had a fair stream of take out orders. I frequent the area but do not live nearby and nothing caught my attention enough to return.

It's one of those "low-key hidden but worth finding" spots. Don't let the location fool you! I went on a Tuesday during the week when it wasn't busy at all -- nice and chill vibes. But babyyy once 6 PM hit? Dinner time activated. The crowd definitely started rolling in and you could feel the energy shift. So just know traffic picks up later in the evening if you're planning a visit. Now let's get into what matters: The staff? Super attentive and kind. I love when servers check on you just enough without hovering. And the food came out HOT. Not warm. Not "it's been sitting." I'm talking steaming, fresh, straight-to-the-table heat -- which is exactly how a crab boil should hit. Portions were generous because I was overly stuffed and still had plenty left over for the next day (which honestly might be the best part). Nothing like reheating a seafood boil and running it back. Thank you for hosting me and my guest -- we had such a good experience. I'll definitely be back for my next crab boil fix lol

At least the decor was "cute" pretty standard for a seafood boil and had TVs. We got 3 pounds of shrimp with the flavor mix and the spiciest level of heat in addition to some Cajun fries. The seafood was so bland and the fries were so dry with little to no seasoning.

It's been a minute since I've have had a seafood boil and man was this place was worth the wait!!…read more I came with a friend on a Wednesday night and thankfully it wasn't too busy. As for food we got the Combo 2 and our choices were shrimp, clams and snow crab. We went with the Torpedo sauce for our boil cause it was a mixture of all their other sauces (garlic butter, classic cajun and lemon pepper) and we got it at a medium spice level. And oh boy oh boy did it set our mouths on fire but in the best way possible!! The sauce was everything we wanted it to be, spicy, savory, garlicky, tangy and just pure indulgence. To calm the heat though we also got cajun fries, rice, Thai tea and Jasmine milk tea. Sharing a meal with a friend is always nice but sharing a meal with a friend here is great. I believe food is the ultimate uniter and I'm happy we chose to go here!! The menu lists market price for their seafood, but nowhere to physically see the prices so you must ask the waiter. I ordered a pound of head on shrimp in spicy torpedo sauce (their house combination sauce) and some mild cajun fries for sharing. The shrimp was well cooked and a nice aroma of garlic lingered from the chunks of garlic visible in the sauce. The sauce had decently chunky bits which adhered to the shrimp well enough and was delicious with a nice kick of heat. The shrimp were less than fresh but perfectly palatable. The Cajun fries were lightly seasoned, with a crisp (but not too crunchy) coating, similar to the exterior of an onion ring. They were great for snacking and whetted my appetite well. All in the food was good, but I just wish the shrimp was fresher to lend some subtle sweetness and fresh feeling to the dish.
