I've driven by this place many times and finally decided to stop in after seeing the long lineup at the drive thru. I ordered the bacon, eggs, French toast and coffee. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Everything was cooked perfectly. The staff were nice and my meal was prepared within 5 minutes. Diner style seating inside. They know the importance of a crispy fries, and they don't mess with that sorry limp, soggy stuff. I had the Hamburger combo and the fountain Coke is up to par with Mcdnald's Coke. We always order drive thru at this place and I have ordered a variety of things -- Ham and egg breakfast burrito. Chili cheese fries. Chicken sandwich. Club sandwich. Zucchini fries. Eggs and bacon breakfast. French toast. Each of these are all delicious and tasty. Their service is quick. It's a family owned spot which makes me more compelled to order from them. I have been going to Monks since 2012, and over all, I love their food. This review is not about the food- but the service. I feel like- the services have been getting worse and worse, and the last straw for me happened today at 2116. I was buying burrito for my husband that he is meant to eat after hockey. He does not eat beans or sour cream- so I specifically ordered carne asada burrito with no beans and sour cream, and the guy that took the order said yes over the drive thru intercom. When I received the receipt, the carne asada for 11.50 did not reflect the request that said "no beans or sour cream- so when I went to the window- I asked the lady to make the burrito with no beans and sour cream and she said yes. When I received my order- before driving away- I confirmed with the lady that the burrito did not have beans or sour cream and she said yes, smiling while nodding. My husband came home, and one bite and he spit it out. It's a waste of money since I don't eat beans on my burrito as well. And Monk's was ready closed. It was just frustrating knowing that I asked not once but three times and still got the wrong order. If I only asked once- I would not even write this review- but three times? read more

I like Monk's. I actually have not had their namesake charburgers but, I do enjoy their enchiladas. If you are looking for something healthy, this is not the spot as Monk's is a "greasy spoon" type. My go-to here is the cheese enchiladas, beans and rice. Tasty. The mister has gotten various burritos from the breakfast ones, wet, carne asada, etc. Oddly though, they have taken the pork items off the menu! A bit over a week ago, my nephews wanted to get pork tacos but, we had to get beef instead. We liked everything we got except that the rice was overdone and left unfinished. Monks is conveniently located and has 2 driveways to enter and exit, as well as a drive thru. There are high tables inside, but booth seats available as well. Their prices are reasonable, and the service is pretty quick as well. Staff are kind as well. Their burgers are decent. I tried a bacon cheeseburger and honestly it was better than expected. Their fries could use a bit more seasoning. I've also tried their chili cheese fries. They're decent, but some days they're not as great. I'm not sure what kind of cheese is used, but it's not the best. Their zucchini fries are good, they could use a bit more seasoning as well though. UNSANITARY FOOD HANDLING. I walked in and placed my order and there was no cashier so the cook rung me up, punching it in on the register screen. The regular cashier then walked up to take my payment. The cook went directly from touching the screen to handling the food with his bare hands. I spoke to the manager about what he did, short haired blond pony tail lady all in black. She got defensive and told me 'but did he touch the money?'. I told her and that her screen is still filthy and why. Again, 'did he touch the money?'. She couldn't come up with any other response for me. What else are you people hiding? Anyone with half an ounce of common sense knows that touching the order screen is the same as touching money and credit cards handled by booger fingers, sneezed in, coughed in hands. I've never had a bad experience until tonight. I call in at 9:47. 13 minutes until close to order chicken strips combo. Raw chicken takes 7 minutes to fry so their pre fried frozen strips shouldn't take more than the 13 minutes till close. I'm responded with "yeah we're closing soon." I respond with I live 3 minutes away I'll be there. He took my order, I get to the restaurant in 5 minutes. I say over the microphone hello I have an order for Adrian chi- and I get cut off saying THANK YOU PULL AHEAD. At the window I say hey that wasn't cool to cut me off I know you want go home but I got here before closing. He gives me my drink. My food is ready and he holds it at the counter while he talks to his coworkers. They change the sign from open to close at 9:54. The dining area hadn't even been closed yet but the drive thru was. Ok. After 2-3 minutes I get my food. I said hey so you're gonna yap to your coworkers while my food is ready? I apologize for ordering late but I get here 8 mimutes before closing, you got my food ready and HELD it at the counter and made me wait 2-3 more minutes. (Conveniently while they close) and then gives me my food. I state hey man I know it's late but I got here before you closed and you made ME wait for MY food that was ready. I also clarified you're going to close on time correct? You're goin home on time correct? What the hell is the problem. After a year of supporting this small business I will be taking my money elsewhere. It's hard to support small business when corporations will serve you until closing, mind you I called in 13 minutes before losing living 3 minutes away. There are 2 apartments buildings going north from this restaurant mine is the 2nd one. Idk why they were so rude after never being rude for a year. We all want to go home but Monks train you're closing staff to be more friendly what the hell. Also they messed up a special request for a burger I had to ask to be remade. Since then I asked for extra salt ON my fries 3 times. And they just give me a salt packet on the side. That is NOT what I am asking for. Thats 4 times that this place can't take special requests. Ordering doesn't take long but waiting around for your food could run a pretty minute but that's how you know they're busy and food is made fresh! Since I was a kid I've always ordered chilli cheese fries with a chilli cheese burger. They started using processed cheese instead of real cheese on the chilli fires. The real cheese is what made it so delicious. I stopped getting that a while back after that happened. Now I order a chilli cheese burger and I can barely even tell they put chili in it.
