Hardy box of 16 pieces of dark meat chicken.

Thanks to other Yelpers, we tried this little hole in the wall, mini-mart, in Richmond - for better than the chain store, tender fried chicken!! I thought I was at the wrong place, to be honest. Once inside, they have a real deal set up, no-nonsense counter, and a sweet order taker who will crack a smile if you smile at her, taking your order quickly and efficiently. You then walk over to the mini-mart cashier, 4 feet to the left, and pay for your order and whatever other mini-mart grocery must have. I then waited for my order while watching how much perfectly, hot and fried, chicken was being produced behind the counter case. It didn't have time to sit under a heat lamp, it went into the container to my box within minutes. We ate a hardy meal of chicken, mash potatoes and gravy, Mac n cheese, red beans and rice, Cole slaw, fries and shrimp. Admittedly, the sides were just ok, in comparison. The flavors were there, but they were packaged beforehand and sat, so they didn't taste as fresh. You know that chicken was still crunchy and delicious eaten cold, the next day! Wow.

Being from New Orleans, gotta love seeing some Louisiana-based fried chicken joints in the Bay Area. What's extra awesome about this spot is that they use halal chicken, which is great for those with dietary restrictions. I typically get a mixed bucket of chicken, with some biscuits, fries, and Mac n cheese. I have had their tenders and boneless wings as well, but you have to get their chicken, biscuits, and fries. You can ask them to sub drumsticks for wings if you'd like as well. They have a lot of sauce options, so ask them before you leave so you get what you need. It's at a gas station so parking is easy. Check them out!

The best chicken around. This location is always fresh and the chicken is always seasoned properly. I will drive further to come to this location. The chicken is delicious. Don't let the fact that it is inside a gas station deter you.

look at that cajun sauce inside! SO GOOD

It's located in a gas station. Not a lot of parking. Service is good. A little pricy, but tasty chicken.

The size of the chicken pieces are almost twice the size as KFC. The flavor of the chicken is delicious.

Tasty chicken with nice spice and light batter. Tasted freshly made. I think that it is as good as Popeyes which I find inconsistent.

Where would I find the full menu WITH Prices? Thanks

Only inside the gas station. Each location has their own prices so they won't be listed online other than Yelp.

I came once but I don't see any Halal food certified kind of sign in store , how we can know it's halal . Please put anything in store so all Muslim community people come and enjoy food?

HALAL CERTIFICATE IS POSTED ON THE COUNTER 💯 % HALAL

Salaam , I wanted to find out if the jambalaya and the chicken rollup is also Halal?? I got concerned after I ate the sausage in the jambalaya

YES, HALAL CHICKEN & HALAL BEEF LINK ARE PUT INTO THE JAMBALAYA

Both the fried and taters come very lightly salted, and there are salt packets you can grab to add to taste. The Mac and cheese has a nice smoky flavor from the bacon, and I appreciate that it comes in a to-go container. Casual spot with order and pick up at the counter. Nothing in particular to note about service, they were nice. Plenty of comfortable seating inside. I would come back here for the quality of the food alone, but what really makes this place stand out is the affordability, especially for the sides. Parking will be on neighborhood streets and was not too hard to find. Stepping in we immediately noticed that mural arts on the wall. Ordering can be at the register or via an electronic kiosk. They have a lot of interesting smash burger options, including a Trompo featuring Al Pastor. We got the Fat Boi, Trompo, and Highway Style fries. We waited longer than we expected, but good thing they have many monitors so we watched the World Cup while waiting for our food. When the food came, they were an impressive sight. The burgers were loaded and dripping with grease. My son liked his Fat Boi, but I thought the Al Pastor in the Trompo was a bit bland. The Trompo was also so greasy that grease was running down my hand and forearm while I am eating it, and I can feel my arteries hardening already! The Highway Style fries were decent. A smash patty laid between two layers of fries and then topped with melted cheese. It was decadent but a guilty pleasure. The kids gave the place 7-7.5 out of 10 and they said they would come back. For myself, probably not as the food was just too heavy for me.

I could tell they are short staffed as the drive in order board was full, flashing red and the gentleman at the front was moving frantically everywhere. I was patient with our wait time to order, receiving our meal fairly quickly. There was a displaced gentleman at the table next to us. I noticed him noticing our food as we passed by with the meal. With no wait time to order, I placed an order to give to the gentleman. I told the cashier the meal was for the man at the table. Twenty-five minutes later, receipt of time from when I paid, the man still was sitting without food. I went to the register, with five others waiting this time. I was never acknowledged nor was the delayed order. I asked why the extreme wait time while others were being served. Fifteen minutes later he collected my receipt and began to make the order. This location is not in our immediate vicinity or a place we frequent so I am not much concerned. I am concerned about the lack of immediacy we received that the displaced man did not. Money is money, service is service, a person is a person and overall we each deserve respect when it is in the absence of disrespect. I hope this location does better by providing staff with greater support for the amount of traffic they receive.

Impossible Burger - Impossible in Richmond…read more The corporate leads at BK and Impossible Burger central must not have accounted for Richmond, CA when it came to marketing and selling the new Impossible Burger. Used the BK app to buy the $7 Impossible comparison (1 beef Whopper, 1 Impossible Whopper). Beef Whopper was as I remembered, somewhat juicy flame-scented beef under a blanket of ketchup and mayo. The comparison? The Impossible Burger didn't quite measure up. At first glance, the Impossible patty itself seemed severely overcooked compared to animal beef, and it proved just as dry on consumption, precluding experience of the vegetable-heme juices. Flavor was interesting, with a nutty/mushroomy flavor not present in beef. Overall, yes, it did taste like meat - it evoked a public school food service hamburger. Overall, not sure if we should write off the BK Impossible Burger, or just write off Richmond's BK as the place to buy one. To their defense, their clientele doesn't seem the most likely people to purchase this item, leaving the poor patty to desiccate in the warmer.
