Hey hey Adventurers! I FINALLY got to pop in here while on campus. So glad I did! After running around all day all I wanted was comfort food and pizza was the way to go. The place is a decent size given that it probably gets super packed at times, okay seating, really unique selection of pizza types, and the dudes behind the counter aren't bad looking ; ] I ordered a slice of veggie pizza (gotta be 'semi' healthy) and a slice of regular. The service is quick efficient and easy. Pizza is a little greasy but what pizza isn't? Just dab it with some napkins, though I imagine a really good drunk food. The veggies slice was delicious and the regular slice was well cheese and dough. I think I liked the veggies because the entire thing was covered with veggies---different kinds. They definitely don't skimp on the toppings because I saw the other crazy combo slices and nope FULLY COVERED. Definitely going back here when I'm on that part of campus. GO RU! read more

Low key LOVE Krispy pizza. I thought I would love nothing else but my hometown's thin Italian pizza but then I discovered Krispy. Truthfully, I don't love every pizza from Krispy but, for me, the GRADMA PIE is undeniably delicious. I literally would want to eat the whole pie myself if I could. The dough is perfectly crunchy on the bottom and a tiny bit soft in the middle. The sauce and cheese ratio is on point with a scattering of fresh basil...my mouth waters just thinking about it. I grew up in Brooklyn not far from the 71st Street location and lived on their pizza for years. I'm very picky about pizza and theirs was always yummy, as was their food. When I heard they were coming to the Rutgers campus, I became so happy, as the area was in DIRE need of decent pizza (sorry Gerlanda's - you just don't cut it!) I went in optimistic that the New Brunswick location would be just as good as the Brooklyn one was and after having a slice, I can honestly say it is just as good as I remember it! The photos on the wall also brought back a little nostalgia for me with the Wonder Wheel from Coney Island and the Brooklyn Bridge (though it should be the Verrazano - come on guys!!) looking over you while you eat! I've been to Krispy Pizza a number of times and it has yet to disappoint. Most recently I went for a mid-afternoon snack and the garlic bread caught my eye. Let me say that it was one of the best things I ever ate. I finished the entire loaf before I made it home. My only beef (other than Hawaiian pizza being on the menu) is that the prices are a bit high, but I suspect that's because their target audience is students on the RUExpress dining plans. If your in New Brunswick, this is one of my favorite lunch spots to go to for something quick. The tossed salad with chicken (grilled or krispy) is my favorite lunch option. They have a few dressings to go with it but my favorite is the Italian. Salad is always fresh and the chicken is cooked to order. The pizza at Krispy is obviously a classic a favorite. My go-to slice is the grandma slice; the right amount of saucy and cheesy. The people at Krispy are always great to be around, super nice, friendly, and funny. There's usually a lot of traffic at Krispy throughout the day but they're quick to get people in and out with their orders. Very good pizza and menu. Friendly staff, and best pizza on college ave! They have a good amount of seating and handle long lines well. They offer a variety of different pizzas, sandwiches, pasta and salad. The only thing Krispy Pizza can do a little bit better is labeling that their vodka sauce contains meat. Being vegetarian the first time I had Krispy Pizza there was no sign or anything about that so I accidentally had chicken. It is not common knowledge sauces sometimes have meat so it should be labeled clearer especially for the Rutgers community where a good amount of people don't eat meat for different individual reasons, sometimes religious. ehh. First time trying this pizza. It was late at night and not too many places were open that would deliver so I went with this one based on the good reviews. HOWEVER, I wish I would've had as good an experience as other reviewers. To start, the pizza wasn't all that, it was good, but definitely not WOW. ESPECIALLY because I received it cold, cold to the point that the cheese was solid and the crust was hard and chewy. We had to place the entire thing in our oven for 10 minutes to heat up before we even go to eat it (at this point we are obviously very hangry). When I placed my order at 8:55, the delivery time said it would be arriving by 9:49pm.. I did not receive my pizza until about 10:25pm. This place is literally a 6 MINUTE drive from where I live, so I'm highly disappointed that it took this long to arrive. I would've come to pick it up myself if I knew it would be THAT long PAST the delivery time I was given. i ended up paying $26!! for a cold hard pizza that took more than an hour to arrive from a place that is 6 minutes away. Definitely not worth it and needless to say, this is going in my -don't go back- list of food places. read more

Another pizzaria in town, on the ground floor of the Rutgers building right around the corner (but away from downtown area) from the State Theater and the Heldrich Hotel. Cafe-like premise with open, contemporary design and a friendly owner taking your orders (with or without coupons) from behind the counter. Made-to-order pies are crafted right in front of you and it only took about 15 minutes. The superb result has an artful-looking and crispy crust, as the name implies. I ordered a buffalo chicken slice (dry and the chicken was chewy), a sicilian slice that was good and a chicken parm hero. The hero had no sauce like at all lol (realized once we got home because we did to go) , proceeded to call the restaurant. Conversation basically goes with me sending a picture , he then says "theres no way it didn't have sauce" as if I need to lie. Walking in, the atmosphere is lively - music playing with today's top hits, friendly staff behind the counter, and angsty youngsters gathered around one another. The aesthetically appealing decor (hanging lights and vintage murals) are also very eye catching and enjoyable. The space is a bit small, but the lines move quickly with a variety of seating options (inside and out). Now for the food: The pizza is always prepared fresh, and the assortment of toppings is creatively tasty. I recommend the Mac and cheese pizza and penne vodka pizza. I don't think I've ever had penne vodka pizza like Krispy's. While it may be challenging to eat because the penne vodka, filling the entire area of a pizza slice by the way, always seems to fall right off, the al dente penne makes the mess worth it. This is the closest thing to New York pizza in New Jersey. The flavor certainly lives up to its name: pizza with some krisp. read more

Now today was my first time trying this place and it didn't get off to a good start. Now on Yelp it says they open at 11am on Sunday but when I looked on direct website it says 12 so I had to wait around for 20mins til they opened. The only reason they got 3 stars was because I really enjoyed the pizza. I had a BBQ chicken slice and Vodka slice which both were super yummy and I enjoyed the nice crunch with each bite. I ordered just after 5 pm on a Saturday, 4 different slices that were listed as available on Grubhub, and I got a phone call telling me NONE were actually available replacement suggestions either. The reason I was given was that it's a Saturday and they were basically winding down from lunch. What about making more for the evening? I've had other orders changed because of a lack of availability but never a full one. When I heard that a Krispy Pizza was coming to Rutgers, New Brunswick I was ecstatic. I knew immediately that it would steal the top of the best pizza in New Brunswick list having been to the Jersey City location and really enjoyed the pizza there. I can honestly say that the New Brunswick location is the same excellent quality as the Jersey City location. The atmosphere is very much the same with a large mural on the wall and a very Italian cashier. There is more indoors seating in the New Brunswick Krispy Pizza than the Jersey City location, but there is also some outdoor seating available which will definitely get used during the spring and summer months. Parking isn't easy for this location. There are meter spots on Hamilton Street but a majority of the people coming here for lunch will be College Students living in the Yard or on campus for classes. The location is extremely convenient as it is located right across from Scott Hall and next to a major College Ave bus stop. The margherita slice was absolutely delicious. The sauce is perfect and flavorful and the cheese is fresh and chewy. The crust and bottom of the pizza were extremely crispy (or should I say krispy?). The palermo slice was very filling and combined the delicious Krispy Pizza sauce with perfectly sauteed onions. It was a real treat of the highest quality. Luckily for me, my girlfriend doesn't mind sharing and I managed to grab a bite of her slices. The vodka sauce slice was pleasant with a creamy sauce and good flavor. The plain slice was surprisingly buttery and salty. Not what I expected....but in a good way! The crust and bottom weren't as crispy as the other slices, but this could just be a fluke. Overall, I'm very confident this location will place in the Top 3 for my Rutgers Power Ranking...if not Number 1! read more
