We came here for Brunch on Saturday. We loved it. My eggs Benedict was superb! Everyone enjoyed their meal. Portion size was tremendous. The level of service was excellent as well. The staff was friendly and courteous and performed their jobs well. The restaurant itself is beautiful and comfortable . It was busy but we didn't feel crowded in anyway. My only Con was that I was somewhat disappointed with my home-fries. They were the Cajun fries, but I felt they were lacking severely in spice and flavor. They were just ok. While house sitting in the middle of no where, my fiance and I decided we didn't want our usual pizza and wings so we set out to search for a place nearby that would give us broader options for dinner. We came across Krista's. We were a little surprised when we were first asked if we had a reservation, but we soon realized why. The service, atmosphere, and food is phenomenal. Even though we did not have a reservation, we were incredibly lucky there were two spots at the bar. We got our drinks quickly enough for how busy the bartenders were. We ordered stuffed mushroom which came smothered in cheese which we could not complain about. My fiance ordered a sandwich while I got one of the pricier entrees. The sizes are huge to begin with from what I could see from other people's meals so when I received my complimentary bread basket and salad for my entree, I was floored. When the entrees came out, I was a little disappointed with the gnocchi dish as is was a little overcooked, but not that big of a deal to me to bring it up with anyone considering how great the rest of the experience was. Sadly, we were too full for dessert because they tray they bring out for you to choose your dessert looked drool-worthy. Next time we go, we are definitely going to share an appetizer, entree, and dessert so there's enough room for everything. read more

Went here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. Only had to wait for for about 7 min before we were seated. Service was fast and knowledgeable. I got the California club. When this sandwich came out it was loaded with avocado, tomato, lettuce and turkey. I don't think I've ever seen a sandwich piled so high. Needless to say I only finished a half of a sandwich. I've been to Kristas many times and always love my experience and the delicious food! Lunches are ample portions, tasty and fairly priced. I had to write today because we tried a few of their desserts and both of them blew our family away! First, the waitress told us that Krista has just finished making a batch of strawberry rhubarb ice cream - we couldn't resist! It came out in a fancy large martini glass with chunks of strawberries and yummy cookies crumbled on top. Second, I had to try the enormous chocolate cookie ice cream sandwich - whoa, it fed our whole table! It's dipped in chocolate then rolled in almond slivers! Sat out on the porch with a great view and had a great lunch. Menu was somewhat limited but the food on it was all good. The cajun hamburg was huge and one of the best hamburgs I have ever had. Last night was our first visit to Krista's. It will not be our last. Wow it was sooooo good. The waitress was excellent and the food was fantastic. Buffalo Chicken wings and Calamari for apps. Wings were great and the calamari was the best I have had. Not at all like rubber bands. We all had beef, 1 steak and 2 prime ribs. Cooked to perfection and served with a nice vegetable mix including peppers, asparagus, green beans. The mashed potatoes were great. Oh ya, the salad was also great with cranberries a nuts. This place is definitely easy to drive by and miss out on, but please don't! Amazing food, and amazing service. There's a gorgeous patio, with flowers and string lights above, and when my date and I found there to be a few too many flies hovering, they helped us move to a sofa inside. The inner decor is equally as unique and beautiful, really comfortable and homey while still being interesting and well-balanced (lots of really cute antiques!). The beginner house salad is delicious, and the cocktail menu is to die for (would recommend their grapefruit cocktail, for sure!). Their portions are massive, and well worth the price. They also bring out a tray of desserts made from scratch by one of the owners, and they are all incredibly well done. It seemed to be a tad busy, so service can be a tad slow, but every waitress was friendly and incredibly willing to help and make sure we were taken care of and comfortable. Stopped by Krista's on a trip from Moultonborough NH to Brunswick ME. What a find!!! The food was yummy and the portions were huge. I had the soup which was obviously homemade and very tasty. Also had a sandwich which was piled high with turkey, homemade cranberry sauce and toasted perfectly. Also included bread and butter pickles and sweet potato fries. Everything was great. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was amazing. We got the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer and they were easily the best stuffed mushrooms I've ever had. For an entree I got the pistachio crusted haddock and it was spectacular. The scallops that my mom got were to die for. Krista's is my FAVORITE restaurant. Everything is absolutely delicious!! We usually go for breakfast. They make fresh muffins and scones on the weekends, but you have to get there early. They also do corned beef hash- another item you need to go early for. I would say it is a little on the upscale side, as far as dinner goes, but it is well worth it. read more

We dined on the porch with the sound of the waterfall in the background, I did not feel crowded by other diners and the atmosphere was magical. We ordered the fresh potato chips with gorganzola cream sauce, wow! This alone could have been my meal. I had twin pork chops with mashed potatoes, very large portion and cooked to perfection. Others at my table had ravioli, salmon and pastiche haddock. All plates were cleaned and everybody enjoyed their meals. My only comment is as a Cafe with a strong coffee feel it would have been nice to have a Latte' to finish off the evening, but I understand the expense and training here so I can't fault them for not having an espresso machine. Three of us had dinner at Krista's last night on New Year's Eve. I had scallops with a sweet potato mix on a bed of fresh greens w/a lemon aioli drizzle. Also on the plate were the most delicious, cool beets. Hands down, a "10" for my meal. My husband had lamb shank, roasted to perfection plated w/root vegetables. My mother-in-law had a filet steak cooked to order w/mixed, grilled vegetables. House salad, bread, and an eggplant appetizer to start, house wines, and desserts (amazing!) to end the meal. We all ended up taking part of our meals home due to having an appetizer and all of us saving room for their lovely desserts. Krista's is at the top of our favorites list and we've been there many times over the years. The staff are very attentive, friendly, and really top notch. Always plenty of staff to take care of you, clearing plates, refilling water glasses, and checking in on your satisfaction. The atmosphere is eclectic and cozy, and we've never left with anything less than a stellar experience. We've taken friends and family there and it has become their favorite place when up to camp. He said we should call ahead for reservations...little did we know that at 5pm it would be a 3.5 hr wait for the next available table! Hostess was super nice and said we could stick around and find a spot in the bar or lounge area, so we did that. Great rotating tap beer selection. Caprese salad was very tasty. Heard about Krista's for years. Quick trip up to cute Cornish. Went Friday afternoon around 2. Walked into bar area. 1/2 dozen people conversing. Rustic casual atmosphere. Hostess busy taking phone reservations for dinner---must be popular at night. Hostess asked us to wait while she got our table ready...thinking dining room must busy. Disappeared for a bit and came back and took us to dining room. Oddly, only 3 other parties in dining room. What exactly was she getting ready? The water glasses? In any case, pleasant waitress took our order for homemade chips with bacon, sour cream and scallions. HUGE portion could have feed 4. Great sharing for a party. "Chips" nice and dark russett. Overall good start----if chips had been made fresh and warm vs cold would have been an A+. As 2 of us shared enough for 4 next course mostly came home. Pesto chicken sandwich with sweet potatoes fries (done perfectly) was good sized portion on focaccia bread. Only flaw under rippened tomatoe that had to get pushed to side. Now I know I should ask---I had a Thanksgiving sandwich with roasted turkey, homemade cranberry relish and green apple with regular fries. Why most resturants use deli turkey is beyond me. Good sandwich but for the price should have been better. Sweet pickles were fantastic I was told. As we took most of main course home...dessert out of the questions. Nope! Dessert sample tray came out. 6+ choices. Went with grandmother's chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting and a raseberry layer cake with buttercream. Yum! Both a standout. Let me first say that almost all of the food was EXCELLENT! It was well-prepared from scratch with good quality ingredients. The service, on the other hand, was far from even mediocre. Krista's was very busy when we showed up so when the hostess said it would be 45 minutes before our party of 5 was seated, I could totally understand. And, in truth, it's Cornish ... There were no other breakfast places within 30 minutes anyway so where were we gonna go?? We were seated within 40 minutes and, after about 15 minutes of sitting at the table, someone finally came over to take our beverage order. When we were waiting we saw these delectable looking cheddar biscuits and pecan rolls so we ordered one of each to split. Perhaps that was a mistake ... We finally saw the biscuit, roll, and our beverages about 20 minutes later. Our main breakfast dishes came out relatively quickly after that and everything was excellent (except the corned beef hash: it's home fries that are perhaps cooked NEXT TO corned beef?! We got two orders of it at the table and neither had even a hint of corned beef!) but we did not see our waitress again until we were finished eating for about 15 minutes. Now, let me make mention that while we ate, approximately 75% of the tables in the restaurant were empty while the line outside continued to grow longer and longer. Three out of five of us at the table either cook in or wait tables in a restaurant so we understand busy days in a well-run restaurant. The front of the house is NOT well-run and needs help. It is a beautiful restaurant with excellent food (in huge portions too - everyone took food home) but most people, including us, do not go to breakfast expecting a 3-hour bad service experience. And, honestly, who takes breakfast home?? Nobody. Even if the food is delicious and well-prepared. I say go for the food. But do not expect good quality service. 4.5 stars for food, 1 star for service. I have faith that everything will get sorted out and this place will get a 5-star review from me the next time I visit! read more
