We had 5 bids placed, and they weren't the most expensive, but they were definitely not the cheapest either. The salesman seemed knowledgeable and wasn't too pushy. The scheduling was pretty flexible and the communication was decent. However, the week the job started, the sales manager was out of town and didn't let me know. I had no contact person to determine how the job was going, and had no one sending pics or available to answer questions about possible damage and leaks from the previous roof that I had concerns about. I finally received an email (later in the week) from the owner minimizing my concerns and still not giving any contact info from someone actually on site. On Friday, he then lets me know (no call, just email) that the gutters hadn't been done because the machine broke, and would probably be the following week. I responded with guests would be there and we had limited time. The next day we see that men showed up to do the gutters (didn't tell me they were coming) with a rented machine. The final problem was Monday. I emailed the owner again and said I wanted to look over things before the final payment, and he said Monday was my last chance before the building inspector showed up, and I would have to be there early. So I took off work, drove up there for 9am and there was no one in sight. I got on the roof with my blower, only to discover the gutter guards were not installed. When the guys showed up about an hour later) I was told that I wasn't supposed to have them. I said check again, and then they realized their mistake. I also spent 45 mins blowing the roof and gutters off. I emailed the owner again asking for a phone call to discuss some issues, and he basically blew me off. I received a follow up call from the sales manager a few days later. He was apologetic, but also a little defensive when I pushed back on some of his arguments. There were no concessions made for the timing issues, missed items, or my time that was wasted. So, my take overall: roof install looks good, price was ok (on the high side), communication during the job was awful, and the customer service response post completion was poor.

At least our roof is more efficient and solar-ready... Anyway, I got just two quotes, and it was a very difficult choice as both seemed good. But ultimately I appreciated Tom and his consistent communication. He laid out the work in a straightforward and educational way and I felt that even though the price was higher, I would pay it for good customer service, a long warranty, and quality-controlled work that will HOPEFULLY last at least 50 years. We ended up also replacing the gutters, but the recommendations were all very reasonable. It was also very nice that Tom stopped by occasionally to review the work and follow up with us about it. The roof was replaced on just over two days, with the third day being very minor cleanup (hardly even heard anyone up there). My friend on his bike picked up a few nails/screws for us, but overall I think they were very thorough with their cleanup every day they were on the job (also our outdoor areas are quite a mess so I would imagine even the magnetic sweepers might not be able to navigate easily). I was pretty impressed. While we'll have to tighten our belts a bit, I would recommend Ark and working with Tom if you need roof work done. It was a very smooth, quick, and professional process.

Ratch Construction and during appointment a thorough exam was done on the roof, wall, and eaves. We were given two options; First was to repair immediate roof damage, gutters, and drains with a two year guarantee. Second was a more extensive repair, the roof tiling would match, and the guarantee is for a longer period. We have since experienced several atmospheric rivers with no leaking I will also mention that he was polite, courteous, respectful, and a full clean-up was done. This past Thanksgiving, we discovered water that had accumulated on a shelf in the garage during a…read morestorm. After investigating in the attic, we suspected that the water must be due to a leak in the roof valley above, as there was also a lot of leaf accumulation. We contacted a few roofing companies, but Jeff was the only one that could come out before the next rain event. Upon removing the concrete tiles in the roof valley, dry rot was discovered, causing the leak. Jeff was able to replace the dry rot with new plywood and seal it up before another rain event was scheduled later that evening! We had planned to have Jeff return at a later date to clean out 5 other roof valleys as a proactive measure. However, another leak was discovered in the master bedroom ceiling during another wind driven storm event over Christmas. Jeff and his helper were able to return the following day to open up the roof valley above this location and found dry rot! Thankfully the repair was completed in time before another round of rain returned! We highly recommend Jeff for any roof repairs! Not only was he able to come out promptly to do the repairs but the cost was very reasonable compared to other quotes that we had received!

We got a notice of non renewal from our home insurance company. The insurance contact told us we needed to get someone to clean or power wash the roof and show proof to refute the non renewal. Once I got in touch with John, he has been very honest, earnest, and accommodating. John told us not to power wash our roof as it would take off the finish of our cement tiles and damage them - even soft washing would introduce chemicals that I did not want around our house. He asked for the insurance company contact so that he could call them to verify what they needed from us and to tell them a power wash is not recommended. Once he determined what they needed from us, he offered to brush the moss off the roof. I found his assessment of the work and pricing to be extremely fair compared to the 2 other quotes I got. But a few thousand is a few thousand, We are a budget family, only have one provider, my wife, I am on full Disability, so I try to help her with any thing I can, sometimes it hard due to my chronic pain, really takes it out of it, but she is Amazing.. Work was scheduled two days after the contract was signed (6/17/26). The job included cleaning flashes and removing debris in valleys and roof-to-wall areas, replacing 4 broken tiles, replacing dry rotted plywood and fascia boards, and extending a downspout. The roof technicians Enrique (completed the majority of the work), and Tyler and Johnathan (wrapped up the remaining work - downspout) worked diligently in hot summer weather and completed quality work. Everyone I had contact with including the office personnel (Jennay) and estimate technician (Dustin) were courteous, polite and helpful in answering my questions. I was also appreciative that the company owner (Michael Davis) was very kind not charging extra for minor work. I won't hesitate to contact this company for any future roof needs.
