A very unusual visit today. We waited over 15 minutes at the meat department today and there was not a person in sight. I finally called the store directly and after the 4th attempt I was able to speak to someone. They called the department on the phone and over the intercom system and still nobody showed up. After the 5th attempt a person came out from the back. Then, As we were doing the self check out a small child ran up to us and started begging for money. We didn't give her anything but others did. She was with 3 teenage boys and they hustling everyone in sight. Crazy times! read more

I've been shopping at this Kroger since it was the only supermarket in town ! They have always been friendly and helpful . Some of the employees have been there just as long as long . I've never once had a bad experience. They mostly have everything that I need and have made many improvements over the years . I think that people generally only leave reviews to complain ! I want to start this review by saying that I am in customer service. I'm a director of customer success and I do Instacart on the side to supplement my son sports career. I'm doing a shop only the woman that was working on Sunday T 9:01 am rude to me along with her manager, Scott I just stated that my Instacart told me to put it in particular refrigerator. She's yelling at me that they need to tell me what to do etc. and I said I just need to put it in the right place, so you can find it her manager, then yelled at me, rolled his eyes and told me to get out of the store. I was visiting friends in McKinney and needed a few items. Kroger was the closest store so I parked and headed in. The store looked as if they had a good selection of produce and general grocery items. There were even two sushi chefs making fresh rolls. Since I only needed a few things, I cant comment on the quality of food items, but everything looked good. The cashier (Rockie) was extremely friendly and helpful. This place is disgusting. Their definition of fresh is actually disturbing. I have given this store more trips then they deserve and I am constantly asking myself why I keep returning. Much of Kroger's produce, bread and meat has passed it selling point...and I would hate to think they leave it out for that shopper that doesn't carefully inspect their groceries...but they do. There is no reason for them to leave all of these fungus infested options to sell. It's DISGUSTING! Today I decided it would be my last visit..I made it as far as the bakery..when I read the bagel "label"...and simply said...I give up. Wow...KROGER really?? I have spent so much money at Kroger over the last 20 years and recently I bought my mom a closed apple GC for her birthday for $100. They charged me and today my mom just called to let me know that their was no card in there at all. She called the number on the back of the GC and it also gives you the GC number. They checked it out for her and said it was bought for $25, but voided right away. So, Kroger put a voided GC back on the display and when I called them, they refused to do anything to help. After 20 years, we now will be shopping at Tom Thumb. It has better prices and varieties of things anyway. Kroger was just closer. I was thinking about changing anyway as I went in a week ago and am limping severely due to a spinal injury that I will be having surgery on soon and NO ONE would help me get my things on a conveyor belt or help me outside even though I asked. This place has starbucks (with free wi-fi), a sushi stand, and a tortilla press! I'm loving the upgrades that Krogers are doing with their new signature stores and it's so handy! I actually found this location because I was calling around to various grocery stores trying to find a place with a tortilleria, lo and behold, this kroger signature store had one and they were delicious! We ended up doing most of our grocery shopping here that day and I was very happy with the quality of produce, and I even liked the sushi I snagged for dinner. We'll definitely come back when we need some tortillas, and I'll check them out for sushi again too! read more

I was very unimpressed by the service today. The app wasn't working but I could pull up a coupon and show them the price that the item was supposed to be. A woman named Jasmine wouldn't adjust the price until someone walked to the back personally to check the price. Delicious birthday cake purchased here for my 6 year old. She picked out a $10.99 cake and they were nice enough to write on it right then. Beautiful handwriting! The cake was fluffy and moist and the buttercream was, as usual, sweet and delicious. We've picked up "grab and go" bday cakes around town at local grocery chains and this one was definitely one of the better ones. Will return for my other daughters cake in a week! read more

Okay so why continue to offer grocery pickup at the Lake Forest store across from Baylor if they can't manage to have order placed at 6:00 am ready for scheduled for pickup after 4:00pm. This is 4th time in 30 days that my pick up order has been pushed out and not even just pushed out- twice I couldn't even be given a time frame the order would be ready in. I understand the holiday needs overwhelming them and was tolerant of that. I even spoke to the store manager regarding limiting the number of orders placed so as not to overwhelm the system. He stated they can't do that. But today's order!!! I was called at 1:00 telling me my order wouldn't be available for pickup until tomorrow because of "people panic buying because of pandemic". I do not think that's the reason but this store has lost a customer due to poor customer service and failure to meet the expectations of this shopper read more

Just about every time I come here there is nothing but apathetic, indifferent and no sense of urgency out of anything employees at Kroger except for a couple people I see in a regular basis, like Rocky or Jimmy. Everyone else Makes you feel like they could care less if you're there. It's very depressing environment. read more

Not coming back to this Kroger. There was a customer in self checkout with no mask and coughing badly. After he left there was no attempt to clean the equipment. I talked to the manager and to boil it down they have a mask required policy but don't enforce it. read more

Horrible little man at the self checkout climbed all over me because I turned down the voice on the blaring self checkout area. I turned down on notch and he had a conniption fit. Telling me he had to have it as loud as can be to hear all four checkout areas. I'm sure with his higher college education he's become irreplaceable in his master skills of hearing the recorded voice "please place item in the bagging area then continue to scan or press the pay sign to pay". Now he's getting practice in putting all my items back on the self that I did not buy. I hope this little man can hear all the way from isle 15 what the recorded voice has to say next. don't go to the fuel center after 8:00 I've gone 3 times now and the same lazy clerk has closedown everything at 8:00 and if you go to the window he will immediately tell you he don't take cash after 8:00pm they don't close till 9:00 and it doesn't take 1 hour to close. absolutely terrible I spend over $1000 a month there and they have lost my business because they can't keep their employees in check or they know this is going on and just don't care. read more

This was my first visit to this Kroger location and alas, it will be the last. I clearly do not fit the demographic of the store, as I think at age 43 I was the youngest person shopping. After browsing the aisles and seeing that the store was either out of the items I was looking for or didn't carry them altogether, I can see that the over 65 crowd is probably not too interested in eating the 100-calorie potato chip snack packs, etc. that I was looking for. I was also looking specifically for a jar of pineapple preserves to make Pineapple Stir Fry Chicken - nope, they didn't carry that, either. I suppose people that shop here aren't too adventurous. I love my elders, so this review is simply in jest in that regard. In all seriousness, the store was out of many staple items and needed to be cleaned badly. The cashier I had was very unfriendly and seemed bothered by my presence at the checkout. The parking lot was full of litter and there were many rogue shopping carts that needed to find a home other than the side and front of my vehicle. Even worse - the stall to return your shopping cart was as far away as simply walking the cart back up to the front of the store - which I did. If you have a few extra moments, drive on down Eldorado in a westerly direction and shop at the Kroger at Eldorado and Custer, as it is a much-newer store and the experience will likely be a better one. read more

I received a cashier's check as an award at work last year. The man at customer service told me they could cash it so I made it out to Kroger. It turned out they would not honor it because it wouldn't go through their system. I asked to speak to a manager and explained how this check is now ruined. It was a cashier's check issued by American Express. The manager refused to honor it and told me my bank would cash it if I crossed out the name and initialed. They wouldn't. Thanks to this manager, I lost $50. I haven't been back in a year and will not ever return. read more

Before the makeover to a Kroger Signature, I think my rating would've been lower but it's really nice now! Growing up here Kroger was where we always shopped but coming back from Austin the prices seem a little steep for some items (then again, everything does compared to HEB!). I can find everything I need at this Kroger location and my brother really likes the fresh sushi. The service is great. JJ, the lady who does the wine service, is super helpful and very nice! I've had Rockie as my cashier the last two times I've been and she's been very courteous and helpful. read more

Staff are really friendly, products are generally great.....it is just clean and everyone is nice. I shop/ have shopped at many other Krogers and I know (although they are just fine) they are not all as nice as this one. I do also appreciate that Krogers stores have a relatively inexpensive, growing area of organic vegetables and whole foods.... often far better priced than at Wholefoods. read more

This might not be the newest or cleanest Kroger but it by far has the best employees. I will wait in the longest line go check out with Rockie. I will wake up early to see her instead of shopping at night because will brighten anyone's day! I have had nothing but wonderful and making interactions with every person who works at this store. Have I purchased rotten produce? Yes. Has the floor been sticky before? Yes. Have I had to return items before? Yes. This is life folks. This is real food. It happens. It's how you deal with it and how the employees that deal with it that matters. If you can't tell that watermelon is rotten from the outside, how do you expect someone in produce to know? Ummmmm. Their bakery!!! I got a double layer round cake. White cake and white buttercream frosting. Jimminy Christmas! Really truly great cake. Super moist. Better than homemade. It cost me $13. And it tasted so much better than the $81 cake that I got from a downtown McKinney bakery last year. Who knew you could get such yummy-ness from a grocery store? It was also decorated very well. 11 minutes ago-Edit This Kroger on Lake Forest and Eldorado used to pride themselves on customer service, friendliness, cleanliness and speedy checkout. I've been coming here since 2007. As of today, I will no longer shop here. There are employees here who have been here for years, Susan in the bakery who is Exceptional; friendly, kind, courteous. However, since changing management a couple of years ago, there are 1-2 new female managers who can't be bothered to utilize any sort of skills that you would think a manager should have. In general and as of today, taking 2 products back to exchange them for a different flavor, the manager rolled her eyes at me, complained that she was supposed to be on vacation and after sighing told me to 'go ahead and get what I needed'. I asked her if she talked to all of her customers that way. Another employee said, 'she's supposed to be on vacation'. That's not my fault. And if you have an apron on and are behind the customer service desk, you should put on your game face. This is not the first time this manager has been rude. Along with the other one who is fairly new (around a year) at this location, each time I've had to go the customer service station, it's always rude, acting like they're doing you a huge favor to make something right that should have been right the first time. In checkout lines, a couple of really nice checkers and a couple of rude checkers who insult customers when they walk away because they didn't return a 'have a nice day' or 'thank them'. If your customers can hear you complaining about other customers, that's not a good sign. If I spend a big chunk of my grocery change there every week and I need to return some rotten strawberries, perhaps not rolling your eyes and acting like it's a huge inconvenience would go a long way. But, I will not go to this location anymore. It's gone downhill to say the least and is not longer inviting with it's negative and unkempt atmosphere. read more

Nice job with the remodel. Good spacious layout in the store, and no real estate wasted with non-grocery stuff like furniture. Yeah! The one major dilemma with shopping at this location is traffic going east on Eldorado. It is a disaster and will continue to be until the 75 construction is complete. Even then, this stretch is super busy. There are enough grocery stores close (including other Krogers) in locations with easier access to make this one only a stop if in the area for something else. read more
