We stayed here with our camper as part of the Harvest Host program. We had dinner, 2 flights and 2 pints of our favorites from the flights. Pineapple Dandy Shandy for me and Krootz light ale for my husband. Food, beverages and service were amazing. Our server, Laura, was awesome. If we lived closer we'd be regulars but instead bought 6 cans to bring home, if they make it that far. Definitely recommend! read more

The burger was absolutely amazing! The meat and buns are locally sourced and the tomatoes are fresh. The nachos would have been good had the chips not been store bought. They did no justice to the fresh ingredients that were piled high on them. Overall the food was great! The reason this isn't a 5 star review is because I saw our waitress fill my water glass from the hand washing sink which is a health code violation. (I'm ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certified) I asked for a different beverage once I saw that. The sodas come canned thankfully. We'll for sure be back! Very friendly service, and the pizza was good. A little on the greasy side, but tasty still. The pretzels were very nice, and we really enjoyed the beer cheese that comes with. That being said, the only issue was that no one in this establishment wore a mask. Not any of the employees and not the chef in the back which is a little worrisome. They do provide hand sanitizer on the tables. I only wish they took a little extra care to protect their customers. We all want this pandemic to be over sooner rather than later. read more

Been here twice while passing through. I'll say our server was fantastic, but this place is super slow on food. I had the patty melt and it was bland and severely over cooked. My daughter got the chicken tenders and it was breaded with some not great tasting beer batter. A friend and I came to Gainesville for work and found Krootz to watch the Super Bowl. We were there for 5 hours and had the best time. The owner came up and asked us what kinds of beers we liked and gave us samples to try. Later in the week I told all my coworkers about how wonderful the food/beers were and all 13 of us came back. krootz had a large party and the bar was full so we were going to leave and the owner came out and asked us how many people we had and set up a special table just for us. To me this is the sign of a great business. The service was AMAZING despite how busy they were and the small kitchen. Everyone was very happy. For a bar, this place was great!! My husband had the chicken and beef taco, which he said were good. Now, the pretzels and beer cheese had been AWESOME! Great brewery. Crisp good beer. I had lake trash blonde...great with the burger. Sampled a couple milk stouts which were very clean. Hubs got a gig ipa and mothers blues pale ale and enjoyed them both. Burgers were great!! Only complaint is if I'm going to pay addtl for cheese put some cheese on there!!! Shredded cheap cheddar does not make a good cheese burger. Otherwise the burger and bun was great otherwise I'd knock them a star. I'd suggest at least a slice of good ol' American cheese is way better then what I got! Otherwise, These guys hustle and take pride in their food and beer!! Friendly and attentive.
