This review is overdue. Krown is a neighborhood gem! Super friendly and talented barbers and a really clear shop. Bring my son here to see Danny and he does an awesome job every time. They are extremely accommodating and can usually accommodate an appointment within a few days if not that same day. $25 for a kids cut, $30 for a mens cut and they only take cash. The parking lot can get a bit crazy due to the breakfast spot a few doors down, so get here a few minutes early.

I have been cutting (shaving, more or less...) my own hairs for years... and because of my mind and body getting old - 40's are coming in few months! - I'm getting tired of my bold head and I am starting to look for something more trendy, in an old school style, like a comb over cut. In order to achieve this tremendously huge project, I have to first let my hairs grow...yeah... To make it short: I want to grow my hairs to shape something fun but still keep a clean cut! I found this place through yelp, it's a true old school barber shop, with very friendly and competent staff. It's not the cheapest barber in town but they do a perfect job, give good advices and recommendations. I walked in and waited for about only 5 minutes before being seated. They take appointments as well. Highly recommended!

THE best barber shop in town. My husband first stumbled upon this shop when we moved nearby almost ten years ago. Shortly after, my son started getting his hair cut there too. Now many of our friends and family frequent here also. We moved out of San Jose three years ago and STILL make the almost 20 mile trek! Junior, their regular barber, is very meticulous about his craft. He as well as the other guys are definitely busier than when we first started coming there but the cut is worth it. This is NOT your $8 cut nor your local Super Cuts. These guys will take their time and do it right. Many of the barbers take appointments and I highly advise that you do so. No frills, no fuss, just a real, down to earth barbershop. Sad we're so far away but happy to make the drive to keep my boys looking dressy.

The best haircut that I've had in 15 years! Danny is the man! Just moved back to San Jose after a 15 year absence. This shop is the real deal. Old school vibe, and a great crew of men.

Loving his new cut and his pop!

We came in with a botched haircut from the children's salon and thank goodness Steve was able to salvage it.

Came in with some inspo pics (Hudson Williams, 90s Keanu, Jackie Chan shag vibes). Rich was very patient and knowledgeable, he indulged my questions about everything. We made a game plan on how to trim and layer my hair and what I was going for. I LOVE THE RESULTS. It's literally the kind of style I want to effortlessly have but can rarely achieve bc mi hair soy super Asian (kapow!). I'm so glad I did it (finally) and looking forward to enjoying it. Highly recommend!

It all started with a cold call to the shop / getting an appointment with JJ back in 2018, in which turned into entrusting him with cutting my hair since. This is THE guy, let me tell you. JJ is the most laid-back, coolest, most sincere barber I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I truly look forward to every appointment I have to get freshened up / vent / chat with him. My dude has been with me through thick and thin, life and hair literally. From weekly buzz-cuts to now bi-weekly scissor-cuts, he has always gone above and beyond to make my experience the best it can be. If you are looking for a barber in San Jose, please, look no further and book an appointment with JJ ASAP! You will not be disappointed with the exceptional service you receive. Thank you for everything brother!!!

He reached out via text to confirm the appointment and even suggested a few easy parking options nearby, which was a thoughtful touch and much appreciated. Most importantly, I'm very happy with the haircut. Eric took the time to listen to my concerns and address the areas I was most particular about. He quickly created a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere, which made it easy to trust him even though it was my first time booking with him. Excellent customer service, great attention to detail, and a haircut I'm genuinely happy with. 10/10 -- I would absolutely recommend Eric and will definitely be back.

I waited about a week before writing this review so I could cool off and see if I'd feel…read moredifferently about the haircut. Unfortunately, I'm still very frustrated with the result. I have medium-long hair and specifically requested a scissor cut. I explained that I only wanted my current style lightly trimmed and layered to remove some bulk and make it easier to style. During the appointment, the barber had his child with him and seemed fairly distracted, taking multiple breaks to tend to them. I tried to be understanding, but it definitely affected the focus of the cut. At one point I asked for just a small amount taken off the back since it was slightly longer near my neck. Unfortunately, too much was cut, and I was told more would need to come off the top to make it look uniform. More was then taken off the sides as well, again much more than expected. The end result is very uneven and honestly looks like a botched mullet. I normally never leave negative reviews, but this experience has been really frustrating. I've been wearing a hat because no amount of styling has helped, and now I'm basically waiting for it to grow back. It's unfortunate because I came in hoping to simply clean up my existing style.

I showed him my reference pictures (loose flowy perm for middle part) and style (wolfcut) that I was hoping to achieve. He said we could achieve something similar to the pictures that I showed. I mentioned that I had processed hair on the back of my head and questioned how to proceed from that. He told me initially the perm wouldn't look right if he didn't my entire head so I agreed to proceed given the possibility that the perm may fry the back of my head. He also mentioned to me that I needed a haircut to which I asked him if I could add it on as I assumed I would be able like most of the other salons/barbers that I have been to before. He told me he couldn't as he was booked. He begins to perm my hair and talks to another colleague and mentions he going to avoid my processed hair. We finish the perm and he washes the solution out of my hair and shows me my hair. It's significantly curlier and different than what I expected. But didn't look too bad because it was still wet. I didn't want to say anything because I hoped once my hair dried, the perm would look less curly as it has in the past and I didn't want to say anything since I waited over a month to book this appointment. I had paid previously and tipped 20% during the booking of it. As I drive home, I noticed my hair looking more and more poofy on the sides--almost like those kids who grow out their hair/surfer hair. Once I get home, my hair is a lot more dry now and I noticed that the sides were all sticking out horizontally like a fish hook. I showed my girlfriend who told me that this was the worst thing she's ever seen. The sides were totally messed up and the back looked horrible. I ended up going to another salon that evening because I was in shock of how bad the perm turned out. I asked the stylist there if there was any way to layer and fix it, to which they informed they couldn't as the perm rods were not placed appropriately for a middle part and said the only way to fix it was it cut off. Given how bad the perm turned out, I opted to cut it off. I mentioned all of this to my barber the next day on his social and he didn't even seem to care. He told me I should've had my hair layered before the perm and that my hair looked weird because he didn't perm the processed hair. As a customer who showed him the reference picture, if he didn't believe he could achieve the results without layering my hair/didn't believe he could achieve it then why go through with at all. I would've skipped the perm or only done a haircut if that's what he believed was achievable from the reference picture. Even from the picture of the back I sent him, he could tell that the perm looked bad but let me walk out of the shop without even trying to fix it. I already paid/tipped beforehand so there's no incentive to fix a bad service because you're just an invoice at this point. The customer service at this places isn't good. If you gave someone a really bad perm/service and don't care about your mistake or don't care to offer ways to assist your client, it just shows you that you're just a dollar sign to them.
