Best donuts hands down! We actually had krumpes donuts as our wedding cake. Yeah, they're that good!

Called Krumpe's on a Thursday night to ask if they could help me with a SpongeBob SquarePants Birthday Donut idea I found on pinterest. I wanted to make for my grandson's Birthday this Sunday. One of a kind, reminds me of a place food critic Bourdain would go to have something sweet at the end of a night. Who would stand in line for a peanut butter twist ??? Where's the line!! This place is so fun to go to. It has quirky hours and low prices... what's not to love? They do leave a greasy taste, but that's what makes them so deliciously moist. If you want dry donuts go to Dunkin. Every experience I've had with this place has been amazing. If you don't want to stand in line be there at exactly 7 or even a few minutes before. Everyone raves about these donuts, and I was so excited to try them. All I can say is maybe we (3 of us) went when something really bad happened to their oil in their fryers, but none of us liked them at all. Krumpe's is the best place around for Donuts especially if you can get the fresh out of the fryer so good. It's a hidden gem in Hargestown it's in an alley and if you don't get there when they first open be ready to wait in the line but the wait is worth it. Best Donuts! Really delicious! And cheap. Good old fashioned donuts. They were out of some things, but they're busy, so that's inevitable, and they make donuts all night. Staff are very nice. The locals told us there's often a line stretching down the alley. The coffee was... the coffee cost 75¢. Bring your own coffee if the flavor is more important to you than the price. We'll be glad to come back next time we're in Hagerstown! read more

If you want the best lard-cooked, hot off the press, middle of the night doughnuts, then come to Krumpe's. The legend of the delicious Krumpe doughnut is what spurred me to return again and again. And the prices are unbeatable! You only have to pay a few dollars to get a dozen doughnuts and every single one is worth it. Your average yuppie/city-slicker might get their hopes up over Krumpe's highly-rated reviews, and then pack a bunch of foodies into a car and haul ass to Hagerstown so they can see what they hype is all about and get some fresh donuts from a little shack frying up dough on Do-Nut Alley. And then whine about their letdown on Yelp. Truth is, Krumpe's donuts are definitely a favorite for locals. During daylight hours, these small, cute and imperfect looking donuts can be found at your nearest AC&T. They're delicious. They're the perfect size. They're CHEAP. I would not drive 1hr+ with the specific purpose of getting Krumpe's donuts, but if you're in the right place at the right time, it's well worth stopping by the shop at night. The chocolate cake donut is a crowd-pleaser and easily one of my favorites. I've never seen a coconut Krumpe's donut at AC&T, but I got one at the shop and it was AWESOME. And of course, you can get a pint of milk from Harrisburg Dairies to go with your donuts. read more

Strange hours, but great donuts. Always seem to have a line to the end of the block, but they seem to keep it moving pretty quickly. We loved the jelly donuts & the iced apple filled, and the glazed fresh out of the fryer were as good if not better than krispy kreme's hot ones. Prices are reasonable too. read more

I spent my entire childhood in Hagerstown and never went to Krumpe's. All I remembered about it was a few rumors about late runs there people would make after Partying. Now they are legendary enough to have a Krumpke themed New Years Eve donut drop. So finally got motivated to see what the fuss was about. Arriving at 7:30 pm on New Years Day, we turned onto Donut alley and immediate saw the Krumpke's line. It was actually difficult to drive down the alley with people drifting from the line onto the narrow alley surface. We ended up waiting about 30 minutes to get inside the small donut shack to order. I'm fairly sure people who arrived soon after us waited close to an hour. Although by no means a donut aficionado, I didn't see anything at all remarkable about the donuts, other than they are undeniably very fresh and were not overly greasy as some donuts can be. I had 4 different donuts , and they all tasted about the same, pretty much like pure sugar. One plus for them is that they did give us a free treat because it was our first time there, and they are very reasonably priced. So I did it , but I don't plan to wait in line for donuts ever again. read more

I lived in Hagerstown MD for 8 months while working down at the West Virginia Air National Guard Base in Martinsburg WV. My family came up for spring break and we were looking for something sweet to eat on Saturday afternoon. I found Krumpe's DO-Nut's while doing a Google search. We drove to Krumpe's hoping for a snack. Well, we were all pretty bummed when we got there and they were closed. You see they are closed on Saturdays and when they are open; Sunday thru Friday, their hours are 7pm to 2am. Now that's my kind of hours... I'm a night owl. So of course after the family went back home I had to check this place out. Their glazed DO-Nut's are awesome. The other Do-Nut's are really good too. Prices are really cheap and the staff is really nice. Tell them it's your first time and they will give you a free Do-Nut... Mmmmmmm. This is a must try if you are ever passing through Hagerstown between 7 pm and 2 am Sunday thru Friday. read more

The only donut worth eating. Let's face it, there is alot of calories in a donut. This is the only donut I've ever eaten that I feel it justifies how good it is compared to the calories. The best donuts ever. You have to know where their alley is in the South End, then they open at 7 in the evenings when the donuts are fresh. Yea Krumpe's donuts are good, but they seem to have forgotten(or just don't care) about the walk in customers, the last 3 times I have been in there I was not able to get anything but glazed. Sure they had allot of donuts but they were all for "their accounts". Krumpe's have seem to forgotten the people who have gotten them these account's so... don't waste your time at 12:00 getting out of your pj's because you will be disappointed, and the workers very unsanitary and not to friendly.
