Glad to report that Krungthep Thai is still a fantastic place for Thai food that I just had dinner the other night. It seems they have a fantastic carry-out business, but I love going and eating there. We had the Pad Thai, Green Curry, Fresh Rolls, Rice and a cold Chang beer. Let me start with the beer was fantasticly cold and will do that more often. They provide what I see as huge helpings of food where you have left-overs. Every dish was fantastic and perfectly seasoned to the right spicyness of medium for us at #3. Let me say you really need to come here as it's very personable and seems to be family owned where you can feel the food is made with love and affection. I have been ordering from this restaurant many times over the past years. Flavor wise, it's quite well seasoned and fairly authentic. Portion is decent as well for the price. They have been doing take-outs only since as long as i can remember (as far as 2023). However, their seasoning is very unpredictable. One time I ordered Mild for Pad Kee Mao, and it tasted super hot. Here's the breakdown: ​Crispy Garlic Chicken: The portion was generous, and it came with a side of white rice--which was definitely necessary because the flavor was incredibly bold and salty. Unfortunately, the chicken was quite tough/hard to chew. Because of the intense saltiness and the texture, I could only manage two pieces before calling it quits. Pad Thai: This was a standard, decent Pad Thai. Having traveled around Thailand, we judge American Thai restaurants by their Thai omelette. If that is great, everything else usually is also authentic and amazing. Note that most American Thai restaurants don't even make a Thai omelette...so enough said. Krungthep Thai omelette is amazing - just enough crab and delightfully puffy and flaky. So amazing! As are all of their other dishes! We've had them all and usually get the crispy garlic chicken (you can add more chicken to the order when ordering), the crab omelet (with more crab, yum!), eggplant sautéed, one of the noodle dishes (they are all great!), one of the veggie dishes (all great!), and sometimes a soup (all super delicious!), curry, or salad. Every dish is excellent, and they make a sufficient variety that it is always interesting! If Pad Thai is your thing, Krunthep makes is very, very well! We don't always get the Pad Thai because the other noodle dishes are exceptional, like the Pad Se Ew, Pad Kee Mao, Pad Woon-sen, and Rad-Nah. If you haven't branched out from the popular Pad Thai, Krungthep is the place to explore. They have their own online ordering https://krungthepthai.com/menu that is super easy, and allows for additions and spice/heat level, as is just calling, and the staff are always super friendly. This place is take out only and I ordered my food from their website. On my way in the door I noticed the health department rating of "OKAY". When I got home and started eating my crispy garlic chicken I found a 1 inch piece of steel from a heavy duty scouring pad in my food. I ordered a shrimp salad roll, which is a a go-to item for me at any restaurant that offers them. These were the most mediocre salad rolls I've ever had. On top of that, they weren't wrapped well and each section immediately fell apart on the first bite. I ate them and the mess that ensued because I was hungry, but I don't recommend them to anyone unless you're desperate. That said, everyone I talked to was very nice, and plenty of people were coming and going so other food there may be great. Just don't bother with the salad rolls. read more

This is my favorite place for Thai food. Nothing in West Seattle even comes close to this. The service is take out only but you still get amazing food. I've ordered here many times so I'm surprise I haven't reviewed this place. Pad kee mao, pad Thai, Tom kha. No matter what you order everything is so good and they actually make it spicy haha. Absolutely wonderful. Ok, my wife and I were waiting for a flight out of Seattle and wanted some thai food. We found this place on yelp and decided to try it out based on the positive reviews. We arrived at the parking lot which was busy! But we managed to find a good spot. Walking into Krungthep it was nice and quiet and looked clean! We were told to sit wherever we like. Tried Krungthep once again. Had chicken pad Thai as is my favorite. They told me it would take 15 minutes they made it in 9 so I appreciate the quick service. Seems like the location I went to is Togo only so not much of an experience or ambiance but sometimes I can appreciate something quick and easy. They now have a sit-down restaurant at the end of the strip mall on 177th and 1st, and YOU NEED TO COME HERE! First, the ambience: the restaurant is nicely decorated and well-lit, and the running waterfall/pond at front is a nice background noise. They also have good music playing, just loud enough to not hear the other diner's conversations but not so loud you CAN'T converse. Second: service is fast, super-friendly and gives you the sense that you're honestly welcome in their restaurant (some places I've been lately it seems like they're either annoyed you've come or just forget about you entirely). Third: THE FOOD IS AMAZING! Doesn't matter what you order - I think it's all delicious...very fresh ingredients, always hot and crispy not mushy like it's been sitting around. Pro tip: if you come at lunchtime, you can order off their entree menu and ask for the lunch special, and they'll give you a plate with rice, phad thai, and a spring roll for the same price (presumably the entree is smaller, but I can easily make the lunch plate into two meals) Seriously, this place will be your new go-to for Thai food. A clean, fresh, locally owned, Thai gem in Burien. Krungthep is consistently satisfying. I have been here at least once a month for the past 9 months. The ever popular pad Thai dish is legit, perfectly cooked. The spice level of my choice is always on point. I haven't had any food item here that I wasn't happy with. I recommend adding a Thai iced tea as well. My orders are always ready fast and packed well. All have been to-go since the pandemic. Door dash orders are equal quality and portion. Meh. First we went to the Burien location but they were only doing takeout. They suggested we go to the Normandy Pk one, which we did. The teacups were stained. Asked for clean one, but they were all like that. I know how to get stains out of cups- they should, too. Husband had stir fry dish with meat. I thought the flavors were good but he did not. My Massamun curry had decent flavor but not many potatoes and no peanuts. Decent amount of tofu but not enough chunky bits in general. They did not give us much rice. Small bowls of it. I called in an order for pickup on a Saturday evening and was told it would take about 35-40 minutes. They have a small parking lot when you turn in. I ordered the pad see ew beef, yellow curry pork, green papaya salad, krungthep wings, crispy garlic chicken, and pad thai chicken. Based on the high reviews and remarks I had high hopes but I left for the most part uninspired. The pad see ew had little to no flavor and had no spice at all (I ordered it with 1 star). The yellow curry had okay flavor (even with 2 stars spice), the pad thai was good (probably my favorite of the entrees but not amazing) and the papaya salad was good. The wings were pretty good and crispy and I liked the sauce, and the garlic chicken was also pretty crispy although I wouldn't have minded more garlic flavor in it. Overall I wasn't too impressed with the flavors. Even with the level 1 or level 2 spices I just couldn't get the flavors I was expecting. There was no spice at all for level 1 and there was barely any spice for level 2 that the two levels should've basically been the same. The food was delicious, portions were generous, and the menu items were priced very reasonably. The restaurant also looked very clean when I went in to pick up my order.
